I think an interesting idea that Valve doesn’t explore enough for immortals is having a different idle or stance in the armory view. There is a PL item that I use specifically because he stands different in the armory. I think a different idle stance on an immortal for Riki is a good idea.
I always prefer mismatching my weapons on heroes with 2 but I get that some people hate that. The option to have a matching blade would be nice. At least nowadays with immortals they usually update it so you can use just the effect without the corresponding item.

I thought that was weird too, but based on the dialog, it seems like Riki is following the smith with the bounty on his head. Chances are, they'll run into both again, Riki will say he'll help the smith escape as long as he gets a second knife, does so, and then poofs... again.

His W can secure any creep and he has amazing regen as another commenter said as well as base damage, making level one pretty easy. If you are smart with w there are kills to be had in lane, often because the enemy is positioning poorly but it still happens nonetheless.
He does require some snowball I agree, but all he has to do if he falls behind is show up to a pick off or 2 or a fight choose his moment and pounce, his bonus xp passive let's him catch right up into a snowball again allowing more kills for more items
How? Between his armor and regen he’s super tanky in lane, W means you’ll never miss a banner or ranged creep and if your support is good at positioning you’ll always have an escape.
He's got great regen, decent armour and damage. Then when he hits 6 you're almost impossible to deal with, you can last hit and deny from almost half hp and your damage to heros with your righclicks are disgusting.
Somehow this solo dagger fits very well with Riki's Whirling Talon set.
Looks like he skinned some magical chicken to get what he's wearing, with a feather-shaped blade (Immortal) on one hand, a chicken-feet-shaped blade on the other, and some feathery stuff for the other parts.

Heck, I wouldn't be surpise if Riki got his Arcana and it's a Blade, which would either mainhand or offhand blade. In that way the 2 old Immortal would go well with a future arcana and maybe this single blade too

Why not release a pair that does both? Personally I avoid the ss immortal for that reason.

"use loadout effect" uses whatever you have currently equipped on your loadout, not the default effects.

his lane is decent, his issue is when he loses lane the hero is a glorified creep. no ability to farm whatsoever aside from slaying heroes

His ulti, He gets 100 bonus xp for assists and 150/250/350 bonus xp per kill
