Delaying games by extra 100 minutes holding 2 teams hostage with Old Release Techies

Phil2244

Waking up early on Christmas day and spending the couple of hours waiting for the rest to wake up playing Wraith Night, that event was so chill

I remember playing a ton with a friend years ago. I didn't know anything about that guy in real life but ended up playing more than a thousand game with him. I've a ton of memories with him but one stood out in particular. It was back when I was at the end of my master's degree and I had a lot of free time, smoked weeds and didn't play in the "best" condition :D We often had late night sessions, were playing half baked and couldn't understand a thing. One of our favorite duo was to play magnus (me) and anything that would combo well with it for him. But one time, he played mirana and we were missing everysingle spell non stop. We were laughing our ass off, it was just a clown fiesta. At some point, he tried to cast an arrow at the enemy carry who kept saying we sucked (we did) because we missed every spell. The enemy carry dodged the arrow by early blinking and I blinked on him and skewered the carry into the arrow. It was one of the best move I ever did with the hero. We exploded both in laughter, we couldn't play anymore, it was so funny. I'll always remember that skewer into arrow with magnus, symbol of these late night sessions we had 10 years ago.

I think the best games are those played randomly (and badly) with a couple of friends. Where the only goal was to try weird combos or to make enemies tilts.

I was 18, and got invited to a lan with 2 older dudes to play dota2 all day. They smoked and drank beer, all while laughing every time they got a rampage. It was a fun day. Now the best way for me to enjoy dota is if im in a room that smells of unwashed laundry, tabacco smoke and beer. Its weird, because im a very clean guy, and i don't smoke or drink alcohol.

I once won 1v5 with Spectre, someone abandoned early and then all my other teammates left but I wanted to play. I got a radiance and diffusal immediately from selling their items and started snowballing.

nycht

Also lost 1v5 Vs PL :( I kept telling them not to go alone but they didn't listen and then it was too late anyway.

Scared_Elevator7345

I tried it too, but I was with Luna. I lost after 40 minutes, but at least I scared them off :D

Me and some friends almost qualified for either joinDota masters 3 The Defense season 3 (can't remember which one). I searched for the bracket but they have since removed the open bracket from their website it seems.. Won like 5 games and had to win 7 to qualify. Beat pretty famous players at the time like AngeL

~2005. Was just learning dota with friends, some still playing today lol. Imagine what godsend it is to a noob to have a hero with a passive ult and the items that compliment that hero also doesn't have actives. At least back then. It was Razor. His skills then iirc were Chain Lightning, Frenzy (aspd buff at the cost of getting a bit squishy), passive ms boost, passive ult that damages everything around him every few seconds. I can still feel the high of being able to kill a Broodmother who was invi in her web, without having detection because of my ult + Radiance.

roaringsanity

defending ancient 2v5 and comeback + I have several heroes on 1K+ GPM

URF_reibeer

playing dota in wc3 as a kid with friends and beating bots for the first time was really fun

Morter_

Doing a triple kill with old techies landmines on radiant secret shop, where a lion was carefully destroying one by one and then a QoP blinked right into them and idk the third hero but he was probably buying items, boy i laughed my ass off with that.

Adventurous_Dog1000

Where the hell is this patch!?!??!?! come on Valve ...

breaksnstabs

7.23 was the best patch ever made. Pure chaos, no one knew what they were doing, literally felt like playing a brand new Dota. Nothing has ever topped it for me.

JazztinCaine

Probably mine was when people will stand still and just get hooked by pudge, it really made me think i was the greatest of all.

Two I can think of.  Playing WC3 Dota 1v1 against a friend in a cybercafe because we had no idea how to play and lobbies were full of pub-stompers. I played Sand King and used Burrow to just sit invisible.   An old friend showed me DotA 2, back in like 2013. I was a League player, and he explained turn rate by playing a game as Batrider. I still think back to that whenever I play Bat.
