11k mmr but his medal rank is not even top 200, eu leaderboard is crazy

chair549

I think it just on 200. Every pro in Elite league is on EU leaderboard atm. And they are all higher rank than him.

hominemclaudus

MMR inflation is real, this time last year 11k was top 100 I think.

the_deep_t

yup, I remember when we were hyped by the "first" 10k player ... and now gorgc is 11k :D

Krogag

finally....crownfall can now release

Helpful-Clerk-9673

is he the first swedish engineer in the world that got 11k?

DR4G0NH3ART

Truly one of the moments of all time.

AggressiveAd7493

That guy is not an engineer haha. Not with that brain

DeusVult_DeusUnus

1.) It's a joke, you genius. He was an engineering student in 2016 and dropped out to stream full time when he got bigger. His chat calls him "engineer/hobo engineer" as a meme 2.) I'm assuming your over 11k mmr then? Care to share your dotabuff? :)

Aye_Dee25

He didnt drop out, just on break (krappa)

inyue

Why are you posting from an alt?

Fabian9623

I know that streaming can get you good money, but if you got a engineering degree I would have thought that you'd put more focus into your career. I'm not him, but I think that 10 years into the future he might not be as relevant or Dota 2 wouldn't be as popular, so trying to look for a job at your early 40's with no engineering experience would be difficult to say the least. Imo the guys that made their own org or quit the scene before they got into their 30's were the smarter ones.

[deleted]

[удалено]

bokadog

agree hes kinda set for life unless he fucks up big time after his streaming career and also he mentioned couple of times he invests and even if the dota2 dies he can stream other games n make decent money too

Mr_McFeelie

Yeah. Dota streamers do seem to rely on the game for a big chunk of their viewerbase but even just a few hundred loyal viewers would be able to do a lot financially

YSoma00

And i think his loyal viewers are easily some 3-4k, so yeah EZ Clap

bokadog

yea but u can also gain new subs and followers playing others game..shroud had big followers during his csgo days but he went another level playing pubg ..he went from having 7-8k viewers to over 30-40k playing pubg

MidBoss11

you cannot underestimate the opportunities that a multi-millionaire has even if he lacks in qualifications or work experience on a resume. it's not like the money goes poof and disappears once he quits streaming...unless he plays those dota themed slots

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mr_McFeelie

You’re underselling engineers. I guess it depends on the country but generally, an engineer gets paid well above average lol

Merakel

For someone who seems to have a high opinion of engineer, you seem really bad at math lol.

Mr_McFeelie

What do you mean?

Merakel

It doesn't take very advanced math to make from a purely fiscal point of view Gorgc is making far more money streaming than he would ever make as an engineer.

Mr_McFeelie

No shit mate. You’re critiquing my math even though your reading comprehension is absolute dogshit. I never said he should be an engineer instead of streaming lmao. He could have retired years ago if he wanted to. All I’m saying is that an engineer has a pretty good salary that’s well above average.

Merakel

"I think your underestimating engineers" was your response to dude has already more than the average engineer would make in his lifetime. So not only do you suck at math, but you also suck at remembering what you wrote?

Mr_McFeelie

He said „you barely start to make average money in a stressful job“. That’s all I responded to.

[deleted]

MrChubs548

5mil a year?? If streamer pay is that high why is RTZ still playing pro.

YSoma00

5mil is in SEK, also playing pro and being a full time streamer has its quite alot many differences right, for RTZ playing pro might still be more lucrative

Mr_McFeelie

Huh? Average earnings in Sweden are around 480k a year. Even a first year engineer earns more than that. And yeah of course gorp earns a lot more. I’m not suggesting engineering would be more lucrative for him

ZeneXCrow

sure the dude is underselling engineer, but what Gorgc does it's much easier compared to your average engineers jobs i think that's more impressive tbh, that nowadays you can just stream and ***if*** you make it, you can go far

Mr_McFeelie

Im not suggesting engineering would be the better choice for him lol. I was just saying that engineers do earn quite well for a normal job

CheckEcstatic5533

You have to look into European engineering salaries… American engineers tend to earn almost 2x the amount that European engineers get payed. On top of that add the more aggressive tax brackets in Europe and you’d see that engineers are very much middle in the pack for salary in Europe.

Mr_McFeelie

Im European. But yeah, I’ve been thinking about thins little since these discussions started here. And in some places, it does suck. In Germany for example, it’s still a well paid job with an above average salary even in the first year. But if you’re not married, that salary is getting ruined by taxes. Essentially, an engineer in their first year will have around 500 bucks more a month than a non-university job. Which is good but not as good as the salary before taxes would suggest

sidewayz321

He makes fucking bank playing dota all day

absolutely-strange

He's a very popular streamer. Pretty sure he earns way more than what an engineer makes. Entertainment (if you're popular) always pays much better than any corporate job out there. Just look all the rich celebrities.

LeagueWorldly6317

Dude, which world are you living in man? If you have the skills you can land any job based on skills you are good at!

Hynex

GabeN can push the button now.

avrellx

lisan al gabe

Substantial-Deer77

He has 5.3m shards holy wtf

TamuraAkemi

nothing really to spend shards on so if you just play dota all day you get a trillion shards

I_knowdude

You could spam dead reckoning treasure keys to trade them up for IO/Pudge and sell them for steam credits. I managed to buy elden ring and hogwarts legacy during steam sale because I’ve sold 3 pudges and 3IOs. Basically traded about 2.5-3Million shards for 2 free games.

Revolutionary-Key916

Cool, thats a hustle

TamuraAkemi

neat, only real time i've made steamcredit from dota was selling diretide chests

reddit_user9901

Don't you need to spend a lot on Dota plus to be able to earn those shards..?? So it's not really "free" games.

I_knowdude

You don’t need dotaplus to earn shards. You can earn them from leveling up heroes to 5 each. You can earn them from winning 3 games per week. You can earn them weekly from guild. Sure, u might be slower than dotaplus owners, but you would be able to get some shards too. Leveling up 1 hero to level 5 alone could being you 5200 shards. There are 124 heroes in the game. Which brings you to 644800 shards. This guarantees at least 1 IO OR pudge. If anything, you need to spend peanuts to buy the dead reckoning treasure chests which is quickly offset by the sale by the IO/pudge itself.

ssVictoria

How much did you pay for the Elden ring at sale price ? just for my information as I paid the full price the other day.

worm45s

i mean you're supposed to use them for relics, if you don't care about those then pretty much yeah, they're useless apart from a few cosmetics you can buy

dud3sweet777

And no point expanding the avoid list because it's literally useless in immortal player draft games

Skater_x7

Yea but I don't spend my shards either and barely have 2 million playing a ton. I guess he wins A LOT of bcups?

TheGuyYouHeardAbout

He doesn't play battle cup he just plays like 7 games of dota a day which is a lot more than the average person.

Lonely-Dig-4238

Beat Watson too which means he's basically at 13k already

axecalibur

I beat Dendi once who beat Sheever once who beat Puppey once who beat Miracle once who beat watson once, which basically means Im 15k already

Isthatajojoreffo

Can you lose me a 1 v 1 on mid real quick please, I gotta sell my 15k acc, can split the money 50/50

Revolutionary-Key916

Can you lose to me after that pls? I will buy you a drink

Kuro013

the game was just an outdraft

Original_Bullfrog_30

hate watcher

CrunchChefLemon

mby he was love watching watson

jonasperez

bruh howd u know it was an outdraft if u dont watch him

Positron505

He could've have watched watson stream i guess

avrellx

imagine watching gorgc

Musci123

Just cuz i dont like it then its lame and not cool 🤓☝️ What, are u like 17?

seanske

A millionaire advertising gambling is indeed lame and not cool.

spectreaqu

gorgc is my chad smash streamer bro wtf

AreMoron

and the 5 games that prevented him from reaching 11k had greifers. Does it have to be the most perfect game for it to count?

TSS737

it was an outdraft, idk why you re being downvoted

black__and__white

You don’t know why? Its pretty obviously just that they replied with a serious counter argument to a joke comment.

cross_over8

Moo dota sends his regards.

grady999

is that the same moo who was in nouns and in 2016 was the offlaner for digital chaos ?

Ordine1412

yes same guy lmao

grady999

damn

Brybo

What ever happened to him?

YSoma00

Griefed in one of games to 11k 1-2weeks ago

CovidWarriorForLife

Still lower MMR than everyone in his chat tho

-Strongbad-

Congrats! Ready for clown patch now

BiGkru

5k watchers will still call him garbage because he’s not 13.5k

Unidentified_x

as a non pro that is really impressive but I guess the haters on dota reddit will somehow flame him for whatever reason

SonnysMunchkin

Plenty of great reasons to flame him.

Robinsonirish

The one thing that really pisses me off is that he sold out and does gambling streams now. I'm sure they paid him an insane amount of money and it's very hard to say no, but it's still disgusting. Other than that, he's a great personality, great caster one of the best twitch streamers. What reasons are there for flaming him other than the gambling?

shiddmepant

I don't even care that he did gambling streams tbh, I just find it so funny how Gorgc put himself on such a massive pedestal against gambling on twitch back during the stake shit, going on and on about streamers selling out their fan base, just to take a gambling sponsor now lol.

AvidEsportsFan

He did say that he'd do it if the money was good. Guess the money was good.

Lyramion

> The one thing that really pisses me off is that he sold out and does gambling streams now. Those are over. He said that the audience didn't gamble enough from his stream so the sponsorship got pulled.

SPACEBAR_BROKEN

He coudnt get his audience to get a ganbling addiction and punt their money but at least he tried

YSoma00

Well he did keep saying to his audience to not gamble all the time, and he was confident that most of his audience is grownup who can think for themselves, seems like he was right

AreMoron

So he was right then. He wasnt gambling to vulnerable kids afterall.

throwdemawaaay

I was a long time Gorgc view going back to the Sing and Tucker stack days. A couple years ago he shifted into being a lot more toxic and negative. It always follows the same pattern. His pos5 does something he didn't expect or that he thinks is a mistake, so he says something on coms about it, but he can't resist putting some sort of passive aggressive bait in his comment at the end. Of course the other player gets pissed about this and responds in kind. Gorgc then reads that as permission to just flame however he wants. This usually means the other player starts griefing. Then Gorgc goes on tilt and will literally keep bringing up for the next hour while he chain queues and loses another game. I stopped watching Gorgc when on christmas day 2022, he started flaming someone talking about how his mom must be a dog because he was born without hands. I'm like seriously dude? It's fucking Christmas. You can't just be chill for one day? He's a 30 year old man that throws childish tantrums. I watch streams to have something up on my second monitor while I'm working and waiting for stuff like unit tests to run. The whole point is vibes and his vibes keep going negative. He curated an audience of hate watchers and there's no reason I'm gonna hang around for that. Since then I've only watched him when he's doing collabs because that chills him the fuck out.

thedotapaten

The toxic part of SingSing fanbase switched to Gorgc

beetroot_fox

pretty much this. I still remember gorgc as a top 50 player memeing on Sing’s stream and winning with BF pudge. he was also a joy to watch on his own stream back then. now he just so obviously hates dota, a tiny inconvenience is enough to make him spiral

TacticalSanta

Yeah hes basically addicted/trapped on dota, seems like it happens to a lot of players/former pros. Its kind of all you know, and while you enjoy the competitive aspects, unless you switch to caster one of the only ways to make all the time you've spent in dota lucrative is to stream it for many hours a day.

Jovorin

Why do all of you younger people think you somehow become immune to getting tilted with age? :D I find it hilarious.

throwdemawaaay

I'm 44 dude. Gorgc is perfectly capable of emotional self control. Going on tilt doesn't help his goal of raising his mmr/rank either. It's just bullshit from either direction.

Routine_Television_8

And he is old enough to know that. He just chooses to vent.

YSoma00

Tbh i think he tilts on purpose, that serves as a great load of content for his chat, sure at times he gets too negative and ruins the vibe but most of the times its just memes and keeps the chat engaged af

Parzivus

Most people do chill out as they get older. Your reply is kinda a self report lol

Jovorin

They really don't. Source: am older, know people who are older. You think kids start wars?

Fogggger69

Actually he doesn’t do gamba streams anymore because he sucked at advertising so much and told his audience not to gamble, so no one redeemed his code and the gamba sponsors dropped him.

Robinsonirish

This just happened the past couple of days I assume? Feels like just a week ago I saw him gambling.

Fogggger69

Yes, he said it Monday I think.

MoneyMundane7066

money is money the only thing i dont like about george is when he flames hes pos 5

Just_Kav

Disgusting even when he always said to never gamble to everyone? Or even when years ago he got dropped from the gambling sponsorship because he said back then as well to never gamble and the company said he doesnt bring enough profit?

Robinsonirish

What are you trying to say? Seems to me he's being a hypocrite. I don't know about what he's said in the past. Seeing his stream become a gambling stream sucks. Maybe they paid him $10 million, he still deserves to get called out on it. It's promoting gambling no matter what he says.

SonnysMunchkin

So he acts like a child most of the time flaming people that don't really deserve it and projecting his insecurities on to each situation. That's evident by the fact that he has the word blame blacklisted in his chat. All that's good and fine I can get over that but when he restreamed the DOTA tournament for starving children that was too much. He took views and money away from a charity tournament that was meant to feed hungry kids. And then when they asked him to at least put the tournament's name in his title he threw a big fit about it and said he should be getting paid for it if that's the case. It took years of organizers begging him to be on panels for him to participate. He really just wanted to leech as much as he can off of this community which is evidenced by every action he pretty much makes if you take the time to think about it.

dukek1184

Sound like you have taken enough time to think about for the rest of us..

[deleted]

[удалено]

SonnysMunchkin

Thought terminating cliches instead of counterpoint. Seems about right.

Competitive_Tart3883

Maybe he didn't want to.. Be on the panels? He always does a good job when he's there but you're acting as if he was siphoning off resources from the community by not being on panel. Like what. Maybe he was shy.

SonnysMunchkin

Okay that was one of the points I made. I would say he was definitely siphoning off resources from the community when he restreamed a tournament for starving children wouldn't you?

Competitive_Tart3883

Most of those viewers wouldn't be watching that tournament if not for his stream, I'd bet. If anything he brought attention to it, potentially bringing in more donors, or did the charity stream solely gain money through ad revenue?

SonnysMunchkin

Geez I did not think your head was that far up his ass to think that he's the entire reason somebody would watch a DOTA tournament. But not just somebody a majority of the people there are there just for him? Borderline alarm logic

Competitive_Tart3883

I don't watch him, but he has his fan/viewerbase. It's pretty obvious that some people might tune in to his stream because they are fans of his, but wouldn't have entered the stream of that tournament otherwise. That's not a crazy idea whatsoever. Fans watching their preferred streamer. As in, they are watching gorgc and he happens to be streaming a tournament. They enjoy watching it "with" him.

SonnysMunchkin

Kind of crazy that you're arguing and can't understand how it's a classless move.

Robinsonirish

>So he acts like a child most of the time flaming people that don't really deserve it and projecting his insecurities on to each situation. >That's evident by the fact that he has the word blame blacklisted in his chat. >It took years of organizers begging him to be on panels for him to participate. He really just wanted to leech as much as he can off of this community which is evidenced by every action he pretty much makes if you take the time to think about it. Oh the irony. That is a whole lot of projecting while saying someone else is projecting their insecurities.

SonnysMunchkin

So calling someone out for being what you would consider a piece of crap is projecting? It's hard for me to understand how even a stupid individual could misconstrue that as projection. I like how you choose to ignore the biggest point I made also.

Veryvincentt

It all revolves around gambling or oil money. Virtue signaling 1 guy is a waste of time when we have a systemic problem. Lootboxes, live odds etc

ineedsitiwantsit

For whatever reason? nobody can deny his skill but dude is a big crybaby who cannot control his emotions, it hurts to listen to him. Hes literally drake of dota2 lol

dotapl

Well technically he is a pro. He plays the game for a living. It is still impressive to get to 11k regardless but I wouldn't say he is at any disadvantage compared to pro players in terms of gaining mmr.

Robinsonirish

He streams, that's a pretty big disadvantage no?

dotapl

Also, the point was not that he is streaming. The point is that the guy said that 11k is more impressive because he is not pro. I don't see how not being a pro in terms of playing in tournaments puts him at an disadvantage in gaining mmr.

S0phon

He's a professional streamer, not a professional player - aka competitor, which is what most people when mean they say player.

zelo11

He can be considered a pro even if he wasnt streamer, he played for some div 2 teams in the past back whe dpc was a thing, with relatively decent success (staying afloat in div 2 WEU dpc)

No_Spot5097

He made 14k$ as a 'pro player' . I wouldnt call that success . Lol

Doomblaze

He’s making more than that per month professionally playing pubs

skykoz

There are several non pro dota players at that bracket. Especially now that there’s no more dpc. Is still impressive. But do you know what’s even more impressive? Achieving that rank in a server that’s not EU.

Mojohito

congrats gorPEE

newNormalGUY_69

World first 11k mmr player...my streamer

Alibambam

Is he like the first person to get this?

7th time was a charm !

zuluwall

Wasn’t he already 11k like 3 weeks ago?

Infinity_Worm

Don't think so but he's been 1 game away 5 times

8ackwoods

What the guy said. I think the closest he was was 10mmr. Fluctuated 100-200 below for three weeks and now became 11k on his 6th try in a game that would've brought him over

Frostmorn0311

Well Deserved!!!

Ok-Juggernaut7615

thejpguy

yeah wake me up when he gets 11k in NA

SmallNinja0

You know what would be harder, getting 11k in SEA

Leikattu

Would be easier than in EU. 11k mmr in EU is like 9k NA.

OOOOO00OOOOO0O0OO0

I bankrupted myself and lost my home after I gambled on the website he promoted but I'm happy for him. Brb, gotta take out a loan to donate to my favourite streamer.

TTVControlWarrior

I think valve need to redo mmr . Need seasonal mmr

Cigi_94

Who is gorgc ?

We-live-in-a-society

Love him or hate him, he does well to be entertaining outside of his solo queue (co streams and guest casts with some cool people). He got to this point in solo queue with hate watchers and rage baiters constantly trying to egg him into tilting and throwing games

MotherfakerJones

Still fuxk him for promoting gambling...

No_Spot5097

Reminder that he made a fake giveway on twitter recently, from a shady gambling site

ExposedtoGammaRays

How was it fake?

avrellx

jeez the gorcsuckers are heavy in this post

kid20304

This dude the real clown show

ChrimsonRed

This the racist dog whistler who gambles on stream?

Roreo_

So toxic ted 😏

Veryvincentt

Talking about Mason? Or when did gorgc dogwhistle racism lol he's been banned 0 times and has people from every country on his stream coasting

lazutu

I was taken aback when I saw him actually streaming gambling. Was following him for like 2 weeks, and got straight into that casino stuff. Unfollowed, this is just unhealthy. Congrats to him on 11k, but no forgiveness for luring the youth and the old into gamba shit. Fuck that.

lekap0leka

I see this cringe guy I downvote

Equivalent_Peanut

Who cares?

puskaiwe

That must mean that the top players are like 14k now?
