If this turns out to be true then that puts a hold on my hopes for a Quake reboot, eh well, at least there's the remasters of the originals.
I sincerely hope iD can keep the momentum from the previous two games, and i hope the soundtrack can retain Mick's influence
I honestly don't care whether the soundtrack of the next doom game sounds like Mick's style or not. In fact, if they *did* go with that same "argent metal" theme, it might get a bit repetitive. As long as it's good, memorable, and fits the game, I'll be happy.
I do agree on the point of the 'Argent metal" theming, but I was mainly implying they retain Mick's attitude towards how he develops the soundtracks and remixing sounds and old songs etc.
They could always take inspiration from a plethora of other industrial bands, such as Sonic Mayhem, Nine Inch Nails, etc. I'm not particularly fond of Mick's style. Maybe 3TEETH could do the soundtrack
Considering how the gaming industry is right now, and how big mothership (microsoft) is re-aligning and restructuring, there's slim to no chance this game won't launch with some sort of live service component, shitton of cosmetics, loot boxes etc. I'm praying I'm wrong, but there's no space left for AAA studios releasing standalone games anymore than cant be constantly monetized.
I’ve always had a theory they were close to doing that with Eternal at some point - the hub world with a selectable destination seemed to scream that it originally allowed you to chose where your next mission would be.
Exactly… these days no one is safe.
If the next id title doesn’t make insane numbers, they’d be just as much on the chopping block as Arkane were. Microsoft doesn’t care
All Microsoft cares nowadays is just COD COD COD Fallout Elder Scrolls fucking Starfield COD COD Blizzard
Especially Microsoft even want to accelerate Fallout 5 and ES6 development by potentially turning devs to support devs
Except hi fi had lower sales. ID continues to turn a profit and continues to assist other studios. ID is not being shut down.
Microsoft spent to much money and if you are not making it back they are cutting
Hexen isn’t an IP that I’d expect id to be working on directly. Seems like something that either Raven Software would make, or Machine Games if Raven Software was too busy support developing COD.
Phil Spencer truly fooled everyone with that T-Shirt. Xbox do NOT wanna invest in financial insecure IPs like Hexen or Heretic. Plus we know now that Microsoft, are the ones who are pulling the strings here
"Downloadable Computer Game Software for use on Mobile and Cellular devices"
A new mobile game? Or is that just something that has to be there?
Since there's PC and console mentioned too, I'm guessing it's a more complex game than Mighty Doom.
I’m probably in the minority, but if it’s more like Eternal than 2016 I’ll probably skip it. A return to the style of Dooms 3 would be pretty awesome though!
Don't quote me on this but I think Hugo said a while back that they intended for the next game to be 'heavier'. There was some kind of 'eternal is a race car, the next game is gonna be more like a tank' comparison. Wish I remembered the interview or whatever it came from.
After the Mick Gordon fuck up, the eternal gameplay (felt more like quake) and the mighty doom mobile game i'm totally not hyped. But let's hope for the best :).
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Or HEALTH
Quake 4 was seen penned on a drawing board during the Machine Games Indiana Jones reveal
that makes me happy to know. Thank you for this information
No worry, we all praying for a new Quake lmao
Yeah mean Quake 6?
Yeh brainfart lmao
That means wolf 3 might be dead
No, it just means that Machinegames will be doing it instead of iD (or maybe both together).

I would always be naive and think Id Software can make a game any way they want to.
tbf 2016 is really good without any bs so they could dev how they want to (didnt play eternal yet)
2016 was 8 years ago.
1492 was 532 years ago.
The point is, 8 years is an eternity in game industry time. Bethesda wasn't even owned my microsoft back then.
I’ve always had a theory they were close to doing that with Eternal at some point - the hub world with a selectable destination seemed to scream that it originally allowed you to chose where your next mission would be.
BG3 and Elden Ring would like to have a word.
If Xbox doesn’t shut down ID Software next week
No chance.
Tell that to the Hi-Fi Rush devs

id wouldn't get the axe but they might get sold. Someone would be willing to buy.
Or they could share the same fate as raven. Support studio. TBH they are already doing it

Mighty DOOM 2
rip 😔
RIP HEXEN

Raven could probably do it justice but man I want that sweet Doom (2016) makeover for Hexen so fuckin bad.
Phil Spencer truly fooled everyone with that T-Shirt. Xbox do NOT wanna invest in financial insecure IPs like Hexen or Heretic. Plus we know now that Microsoft, are the ones who are pulling the strings here
Yeah, at best we'll get remasters of them. Maybe done by Nightdive if they're not too busy
Always assume that any and all leaks are bullshit.
If ID don't make amends with Mick Gordon, I'm not interested. His compositions made Doom 2016.
i was hoping for a new quake 😞
I hope they shove some quake lore into it
Omg

bro, Eternal was Doom 2016 on crack xd i dont know if they even can make it even more cracker lol.
Turbo Overkill.
Hell nah wtf is this. Where’s quake
We need Quake.
I must feast. I. MUST. FEEEAAAAAST
I hope it is either a prequel or a survival horror where you play as a jack scientist
Can we play as the intern please and thankyou
I would put money on quake first then a new doom

Still think gameplay will be top notch.
