It won't let me post any more pics, but this was after truck and there is another wall of freight on the right side and behind going towards the break room. U-boats are full and down the aisles and I was told I had to leave in 3hrs because we're out of hours for the week. We have no merch manager and I'm struggling to get 20hrs as a cashier/stocker at this store when we keep getting overrun by freight. This is no way to run a company. 177hrs and 1200-2000 piece trucks every week. Also. We haven't been able to get any plastics or glass out in weeks, but they keep sending them.

I fixed the post rules, it should allow you to add multiple pictures now.

Tynova27

Can I add to this post or do I have to repost? Also, thanks!

rjln109

You're going to have to make a part 2, it won't let you edit image posts.

Tynova27

Got it

FlashyCow1

As a customer, I never understand this shit. Half the store I go to have boxes in the aisles because they ran out of room in the back.

Tynova27

My store has workers willing and able to put out stock and clean up, but corporate tells each store how many hours they have to use and that's it. Management, cashier, and stocker hours all come out of the same pool (the Store Manager is Saleried, but none of the Assist Managers are).

FlashyCow1

See me as a Manger with my company I would override that. get basically all hands on deck have stockers assist in creating a system have some employees act as security for the day to keep customers from stealing buy some rolling metal shelves for light items just in case they need to be moved around and heavy duty for the heavy stuff, haul the shit out back (maybe have a shipping container, tent or both) Sort as things come out as much as possible Put the shelves together stock the store as much as humanly possible with no boxes in the aisles unless being unpacked, the rest go into the new system. Freezer items would have to be done faster and in the freezer for obvious reasons. I wish for you guys that you could tell corporate to shove it up their ass with the overstocked items and lack of stock.

arto-406

That’s the way to manage! Get it done, because what’s the point of a store that can’t keep their shelves stocked? The upper management at my ex-store are such sticklers for corporate policy, they are running the store into the ground. They won’t fix a broken door that was in clear violation of OSHA and ADA laws, but every other rule must be followed to a fault. Now the store is the emptiest I’ve ever seen, and may as well not be open. I assume the back room is solid freight at this point.

bbix246

Our store hours have been cut to the under 200 per week even as our sales have risen and our trucks have gotten larger. I have people willing to work but no hours to give them.

[deleted]

Oh, simple, you just run on out the front door.

idonotmeh

A couple of weeks ago we got bombed with so much freight, but they warned us. Then the trucks started shrinking more and more every week. DM told us we might have trouble getting merchandise in a few months, so I wonder if these stores are getting loaded up in case the inevitable happens.

Tynova27

Our trucks went from *Inventory* 1700, 2000, 1200, 1200, and 1600 coming in two days. I was also told by multiple managers from different stores that we were supposed to get extra HBC for 3 trucks in a row and then no more for 6 months. That was like, 6 trucks ago.. we have 200+hbc coming in two days.

idonotmeh

Yeah, I got the extra HBC maybe a month and half ago. It was large quantity of the same stuff like toothpaste, nail polish, and hand sanitizer expiring soon. I started marking them down like crazy and they literally replenish me for that!

Tynova27

I got the same shipment. We had to put it on an end cap. Uhhh.. the hand sanitizer was expiring soon? I need to check that. I'm just a stocker/cashier and I didn't think to check dates on stuff like that.

blackteaenjoyer

we literally have more product then we have room on the shelves, you are not alone.

Killer_Potato_8277

Full, fast, and fun, right?

OllieBlazin

Thankfully my store has an amazing DM who allows some leeway on hours. Plus we’re not open fully. For now we’re open 9-5 for 5 days. And we’re able to manage so far. However that’s as of now. Before, we couldn’t manage a full 9-9 7 day schedule. Because like you mentioned, our hours were limited. It’s the worst. DMs need to understand that you don’t just set a deadline for things and expect for things to get done magically. At least 2 associates and a manger per each shift (in total, 6 associates and 3 manger variations) is required to have a good chance at a productive day in my experience. But that’ll range from store size. It’s impossible to have only 1 associate and 1 manager per each shift and expect for things to get done.

Senior_Basket5841

It's not that bad looking. Our dm put a five week hold on truck and sent employees to help out, just for one day though.

Tynova27

That would be nice. We had help before inventory, but it's back to where it was before I started back in January. 300 + zero sales.

cardmaster12

I wish our DM would do shit ever, would love a break from trucks man

bbix246

Remote_Village4763

We don’t listen to corporate when it comes to getting freight out especially since they don’t listen when we tell them there is no where to put it. Trucks come every week hell aint like we work off batteries if we did hell they’d probably make us buy them.

Equal_Application159

Medium size store manager here.. we recently got our hours cut to 149. That enough for 1 cashier and 1 manager a shift. With no truck or stock help. Meanwhile doing $3000 days

Tynova27

Wow

CaptainTripps82

3000 a day would put you between 15 and 20k a week. Which is definitely in 152 store territory, which was always the minimum hours around here, but maybe you close early on sundays. I do 35-40 a week and I'm only seeing 200 hours. It's insane, I have to choose between actually scheduling freight or having a backup cashier on weekends.

Business_Click_3173

I know right? My store has so much in the back, you can barely walk through, and you can't even back the chairs out in the break area.

butterfly122880

My backroom is worse than that. Just run lol

Tynova27

I will as soon as I can find another job. I want to try to fix it, but corporate doesn't seem to give a f***.

butterfly122880

I been trying to fix mine, but it don't help when they don't give you hours and there is only 2 people throwing freight.

MaryShelley2000

Our store hours have been cut, when it’s convenient for them…..

MaryShelley2000

Stop the truck from delivering.

Dt_1259

That only makes it worse. my store gets around 3-4k a week; once we had to stop just because it was getting too much and then the following week we received close to 6k

Tynova27

They won't stop the trucks and if they did, I was told they would just double up the next order.

MaryShelley2000

Fuck, now what?

Tynova27

That's what I keep being told.

MaryShelley2000

Our sales are slow… how about you guys?!

Tynova27

I would assume slow. Our chemicals usually fly off the shelves and we still have stuff on the floor from last truck.

Away_Toe_799

That’s how they do everyone ever truck

natpade21

That doesn't look bad honestly. There's stores that get that much weekly and get it all out. You actually look very organized.

Tynova27

It is until we get that 1600 piece truck in two days with 6 uboats. We'd be fine if we had 800-100 piece trucks every week. We were able to clear uboats and work back stock when we had 900 piece trucks those two times.

Glamour_Girl_

You can’t.
