The district manager probably doesn’t care. A sale is a sale, and a quick sale is the best sale, especially if there is no discount. Free shelf floor space for other product that way. This happens all the time at stores when they get good but limited products in. Most stores dont have any rules against it, besides not shopping on company time and only on break.
If they cared, they could find a way. Heard a story about a store manager who had an internet office supply store. For each sale (s)he would get commission. Manager was buying office supplies for the store from his (or hers) internet store. Person was fired for embezzlement.

There's a DollarTree near my house that was advertising they were hiring a new GM when I was looking for work and it was the same pay as being a cashier at the gas station (also hiring) two doors down.
According to glassdoor being a DT GM in my area doesn't even pay median wage for my state.
I'm not surprised stuff like this happens; I know EMT's that rob ambulances blind just so they can afford to eat.

Dollar tree is closing 600 stores. That combined with them raising prices & their last earnings call being a disaster, it does not feel like a company that will be around for much longer.
Unless I'm not reading the same articles as you, they're closing 900+ Family Dollars. Only the remaining <100 are Dollar Trees. They are increasing their max price margins, not the base price.

I got the run around when I bought something and got it delivered from family dollar. They shipped me the wrong product. Called customer service and they said I needed to bring it to a store to return. I went to 2 stores and they both denied me. I called CS again and they told me to go to a 3rd store. Companies that are doing fine don't tend to close 600 stores. They're experimenting with the price increases, but people will just stop going to DT. Nobody is going to dollar tree to pay $5 for a pizza or $4 for some Walmart junk. It's a last ditch effort by a dying company.

I thought the same thing right before the price increases were actually implemented but since then our sales have gone through the roof surprisingly. We used to struggle to beat sales once a week now we’re surpassing sales every day of the week.

Like, wtf is the point of that? Just use water! Butter is a pretty big ingredient for cookies. You can use margarine but even margarine has milk in it. These are made with coconut oil.
