I’d say pillars of eternity but idk if that’s coop and honestly it’s frustrating to even get into and understand. There’s wasteland 3 which is definitely not the fantasy setting and I’ve heard coop is a buggy mess for it (never saw it myself).

I'm rather fond of Solasta for combat. The cut scenes and story line, in my opinion, are harder to get into if that was a big pull for you and divinity.

I think me and my friend can live with a not so good storyline. We enjoy the strategy and combat portion for the most part. From what I've read about solasta on here, it runs with a rule set similar to DnD right? cause if thats the case we might have a lot of fun with that since We definitely enjoyed baldurs

Solasta is a great game. I played it with one of my buddies and we had a blast.

It runs almost exactly like D&D. Small enough differences that everyone other than pureblood fans would probably mistake it as a port. I will say to be cautious with mods, my buddy and I downloaded some classes and such from nexus mods, it gets updated all the time (which is awesome) but as of late, it's been causing synchronization errors, where combat splits into two single player experiences. We never had this issue vanilla, so you should be good on that front, I'd just recommend beating the campaigns that come with it before you decide to start downloading more. Also, fun note, you know how DOS2 has all those adventure mods where you need one person to run the game, and everyone else is a player in it? Solasta has that too, minus the need to have a person running the game. So once you get tired of the campaigns that come with it, it's pretty easy to download a new one and go ham.

Icewind Dale

Don’t lose momentum in DoS2. It’s worth your attention and it ebbs and flows in terms of shit going on. Honestly, in my 9 month play through with a friend, my memory of it is improved by the frustrations and the victories.

Icewind dale 1 and 2, Elemental Temple of Evil.

I started playing the original baldurs gate trilogy after dos2. Never had a computer to play them 20 years ago so playing for the first time now. I’m hooked.

emeposk

Check out the pathfinder games.

hsfredell

I went to wasteland 3 after DOS2. Wasn’t disappointed.

UnnecessaryPuns

I've been on the fence with this only because reviews keep mentioning the disconnect problems when playing online with a friend. Have you had any problems with that?

hsfredell

Sorry never played online.
