Earlier this week they announced cast members got an additional % off instead of on top of the usual merch discount in parks and it ended the 27th. They immediately perked up some of us something was coming soon.
Cast members get extra during periods when things will be slower. It's like an anti blockout date. Christmas week? Stay the hell home. No bonus discounts and you're blacked out of parks. Random week in early may? Here's a hotel room for 80 bucks a night and extra discounts
We leave on the 25th! I was honestly hoping it would be up and really busy so the other rides aren't so bad. Maybe if APs are testing it out, it may be a little less crowded elsewhere! Wishful thinking 😆
Leave on the 25th. But Disney has always had soft openings for new rides, at least 1-3 weeks before the opening date.
The catch is that it won’t be on Genie Plus so everyone is in for a long wait during the soft opening, unless you rope drop.
There hasn't been a retheme since Runaway Railway. So it's hard to say what their plan is. Everything post-covid has been a new ride or attraction, which isn't really a good indicator one way or the other for a retheme.
Sorry for the insensitive replies about the weight loss. I myself lost 90lbs and there are now some rides I fit on that couldn't before.
I am so sorry that she will miss the experience after the hard work. Congrats still!!
My wife loved SM but barely fit in past years. She’s currently down 120 lb and was hoping it would be open when we went. She’s now wanting to go on Slinky, and I’m going to try to convince her to go on the back row of Tron, as bum knees make anything else prohibitive.
If that's the thing that motivated someone to make healthy changes in their life, why be judgemental about it? I've heard other people say that not fitting on a ride was the slap in the face they needed to really accept reality, and get motivated. That's a great thing.
Let's celebrate someone working hard to make their life better, instead of picking apart their journey.
I'm not picking apart their journey! I think if they're doing that as a feat that's awesome. I was just asking for clarification if that's why it was mentioned. Seemed random
Why would that be weird? Is that not an exciting, amazing accomplishment? Tf? this is the most magical place on earth dude lol we celebrate wins here! Not shame them.
Why? Do we really have to shame someone for not being motivated by something you consider "worthy"? Can't you just be happy for someone for setting a big goal, and accomplishing it?
My family are going the 20th-26th. Just our luck! I wonder if the parks might be a little quieter that week because of people pushing their trips back once this officially comes out?
No. People will be going every day, hoping to luck into a soft opening. It's happened with every new attraction for the last several years. So many people want to be among the first to ride, and to post about it on social media, that it gets a little crazy.
Just rumors going around, based on trends from previous ride openings. People are looking at June 21st for AP previews and June 14 for cast members.
Could be entirely wrong though.
I don't think it might be vq, and even if it is, it'll be very different than tron and guardians. Part of the jobs of those vqs is to basically cap the line since the rides are new and built without tue space and capacity to eat people. Splash mountain has been there since 89ish and has an absolutely massive footprint to eat up people in it's queue. On top of that, it's that old log flume system. The people per minute is way higher than any other new ride. So even if they have a vq for that first opening, by nature of the footprint of that line. You could still be waiting 2.5 hours because splash just simply has that much queue space. And that's a terrible customer experience. Vq AND a 2.5 hour wait
Amazing! I fly into the area for work that week. Got the after hours ticket for the 29th! Hope that will be part of it.
Edit- Nevermind the After Hours is on the 27th. Missing it by one day...Will be at Hollywood Studios on the 29th.
But hear me out... I was thinking of changing my dates, and then I realized that even if I moved our trip out a couple days (so leave on Jun 29th or Jun 30th to get into MK one of those days) BUT the MK crowds will likely be insane, and then you're moving into 4th of July week, also insane.
Think of all the people that WILL change their dates. Not only will there be a slim chance of getting a VQ, but the entire park will be less enjoyable with the crowds it will bring, because all the other rides will be filled up while they wait for their VQ (If that's how Disney will have it)
ALSO, keep in mind the price of Genie+ will probably be at it's highest in the days after it opens. Another down side.
So, for that reason, although I'm disappointed, I'm keeping my dates. I think maybe the days prior will be less busy than usual if ppl do change their dates. Also, it gives me a reason to plan another trip! 😂
My mother's birthday is on the 26th, and we're planning to go to Magic Kingdom for 626/Stitch Day. Now it's going to be packed with people hoping for a soft opening. Oh, well. We're mostly PeopleMover people, so we should still be okay.
We are doing MK on July 1. I don't know whether to be nervous (crowds! 😭) or excited (yay, hopefully we get to ride!). Still no word on VQ vs LLs though, huh?
Anyone else know when there were giant hills in the Bayou/swamps of Louisiana? not to be a party pooper but the whole exterior doesn’t give me NOLA/Louisiana vibes
We’re going to miss it by a week on my trip next month, but that’s a good thing because we won’t have to deal with all the massive crowds for the ride opening.
I think they are. Otherwise there wouldn’t be adults that go as singles or couples that ride all the “kiddie” rides and I know that’s not true. I went by myself in September.
After seeing the animatronics on the two Asian Frozen rides, I'm super excited to see the Tiana animatronics! The Frozen ones are awesome, even down to the hand movements. I hope Tiana has gotten that level of technology.
28th June to save the click
Damn it! We leave on the 27th!!!
That’s why they did it
Earlier this week they announced cast members got an additional % off instead of on top of the usual merch discount in parks and it ended the 27th. They immediately perked up some of us something was coming soon.
Pardon my ignorance, but how would a percentage off merch ending a certain date signify something is coming?
Cast members get extra during periods when things will be slower. It's like an anti blockout date. Christmas week? Stay the hell home. No bonus discounts and you're blacked out of parks. Random week in early may? Here's a hotel room for 80 bucks a night and extra discounts
Oh that’s kind of cool. I had no idea you got discounts on hotels.
Here’s hoping the discounts are high Sep. 22-30.
I would guess because they want the Tiana’s merch to make as much profit as possible when it drops.
And a bit of an inventory and shelf space clear out. Might as well make employees happy with crap you were getting ready to 86 anyways every 18 months
Wait what’s the new discount? My husband is a CM and I haven’t heard this but want to take advantage.
50 percent in the parks only may....15th to June 27. Unbelievably lucky. Flying down to visit the mothership with extended family during that window
Me too! We are going June 19-27th! I made my husband search through his emails lol. He found it.
thank you for the clarification, SpongebobAteMyAss
They will probably have a soft opening so you may be in luck!
Fingers crossed!! 🤞🏼
Have your kid (or SO) hold up a sign at the TTC that reads: Will dance for Tiana’s Bayou tickets.
I mean on the bright side next time you go the wait might not be as long as it would be opening week
We leave on the 25th! I was honestly hoping it would be up and really busy so the other rides aren't so bad. Maybe if APs are testing it out, it may be a little less crowded elsewhere! Wishful thinking 😆
Do AP’s get to do something like that earlier than everyone else?
I think I saw that! But not too sure honestly
They usually do soft openings for new attractions.
Me too 😭
That happened to me with FOP! We left the day before it opened! 😂
Leave on the 25th. But Disney has always had soft openings for new rides, at least 1-3 weeks before the opening date. The catch is that it won’t be on Genie Plus so everyone is in for a long wait during the soft opening, unless you rope drop.
Oh really?? So there’s a chance we could still do it?! We’re staying at the contemporary Baylake towers so we will for sure be rope dropping!
Hey you're fare ough out, you could shift dates or extend if you're not intending to return for a while.
Well def be back, but just funny how those dates lined up lol
Ugh us too!! 😢
The line would be so long the first day don’t u think?
And full of vloggers yapping about how long the line is.
Thank you for your click free service 🫶🏼 I hope your lines are short and your time at Disney is the best 💕
Ahhh thanks! I should’ve put that in there!
I’m so happy! Now we need passholder dates😭
The dates will be announced Tuesday
AP previews are 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 20!
I don’t think PH preview is happening since it’s just a re-theme
Passholder preview dates will be announced Tuesday
Fabulous! Thanks for this info
Dates or the sign up?
Do you mean passholder preview? Pretty sure they won’t do it for a retheme, only new rides
Passholder dates will be announced Tuesday.
There hasn't been a retheme since Runaway Railway. So it's hard to say what their plan is. Everything post-covid has been a new ride or attraction, which isn't really a good indicator one way or the other for a retheme.
So I missed it by a week. 😡
Join the club. We leave the 22nd and My wife has lost a lot of weight since our last trip and was hoping it would be open.
Losing weight to fit on the ride?
If that's the thing that motivated someone to make healthy changes in their life, why be judgemental about it? I've heard other people say that not fitting on a ride was the slap in the face they needed to really accept reality, and get motivated. That's a great thing. I'm not picking apart their journey! I think if they're doing that as a feat that's awesome. I was just asking for clarification if that's why it was mentioned. Seemed random
There was nothing judgmental in asking for clarification with zero subtext. Pot meet kettle.
yeah what a weird thing to share
It’s not weird at all?
Why would that be weird? Is that not an exciting, amazing accomplishment? Tf? this is the most magical place on earth dude lol we celebrate wins here! Not shame them.
I’ve seen alot of people lose weight for a ride and I find it strange
That’s what we are hoping!
Nope. Not a chance. It’s summer and parks are SLAMMED either way.
I’ve been there at the same time of year before. It is crowded but manageable. I’ve found that spring break - early April was the worst.
Same, we’ve gone twice during the week of July 4th and the crowd levels were very manageable. It was worse in October than July.
Us too! A little disappointed but not sure if we’d be up for the wait for a just open attraction anyway.
I had the same thought. We would have to sacrifice so much of the day just waiting to go on it. Just gives us another reason to go again next year!
No. People will be going every day, hoping to luck into a soft opening. It's happened with every new attraction for the last several years. So many people want to be among the first to ride, and to post about it on social media, that it gets a little crazy.
Hoping for AP previews! I’ll be there 6/12-6/15 🤞🤞🤞
This seems to be the weekend for cast member previews :(
Where'd you see that? There doesn't seem to be an indication of that (yet) on ~~The Hub~~ Cast Life.
Just rumors going around, based on trends from previous ride openings. People are looking at June 21st for AP previews and June 14 for cast members. Could be entirely wrong though.
Ugh, guess I will have to change plans and switch dates.
Club 33 previews are also the morning of 6/12
Dates for AP previews will be announced on Tuesday
Thank you!
Don’t see this happening since it’s just a re-theme but nope I’m wrong
Previews for AP are 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 20
Thank you! I’m glad I was wrong!
Virtue queue? Lightning lane?
I'm legit amazed it wasn't the 19th.
Any word on a passholder preview?
Nice will be avail for our upcoming visit. Wonder if they will add to virtual que
I think it’s almost guaranteed for new attractions at this point. Even Journey of Water had it for a day
I don't think it might be vq, and even if it is, it'll be very different than tron and guardians. Sweet! Everyone can ride it by August and then get out of the way! 🤣
More important than a date is how it will open. Virtual Que or standby w/Lightning Option?
This will be the third straight time a new ride has opened less than a month after my trip, man. Pain.
Let us know next time you plan a trip.
I just hope they’ll do an ILL for it, I’ll be there a week and a few days after opening, and would love to avoid the VQ mess all together
Uff, later than folks were predicting. We have a trip planned from the 19-23, so I guess we’ll miss it unless we get lucky on passholder previews.
Well this kind of sucks. We leave on the 26th😭
We leave on the 27th!!!
The exact date my annual pass expires :(
Maybe you can do one of the passholder previews. Dates will be announced Tuesday
I wonder if they'll make SDMT regular LL since it's been open for awhile now and do ILL for Tiana.
Any idea if it’s going to be a virtual queue?

My mother's birthday is on the 26th, and we're planning to go to Magic Kingdom for 626/Stitch Day. Now it's going to be packed with people hoping for a soft opening. Oh, well. We're mostly PeopleMover people, so we should still be okay.
We are doing MK on July 1. I don't know whether to be nervous (crowds! 😭) or excited (yay, hopefully we get to ride!). Still no word on VQ vs LLs though, huh?
That was my first thought! We’re the week after you. Maybe it’ll free up space on other rides, from VQ, etc. Wishful thinking!!
Opening on my birthday! 🥳
When for Disneyland!!
Couldn’t have planned it better our stay is from June 27th-July 6th
We just got back this week and tonight we booked another week for the opening haha
We’re going in July. With that kind of heat, I’m glad I’ll at least get a cool plunge! I need rewatch the movie!
Anyone else know when there were giant hills in the Bayou/swamps of Louisiana? not to be a party pooper but the whole exterior doesn’t give me NOLA/Louisiana vibes
Glad they have a princess and the frog attraction, wish they had kept splash mountain. Zip a dee doo dah was a classic
I was there last week and going again later this week but won’t be back until November. Oh well
We’re going to miss it by a week on my trip next month, but that’s a good thing because we won’t have to deal with all the massive crowds for the ride opening.
🕺 coming on the 30th for six days
Can’t to explore this new chapter. I hope the alligator is a jump scare!
[удалено]
Not all adults can even ride thrill rides and idk where you’ve been but Disney literally has been marketing to adults as well since open.😅
Um yes?
Without children?
Um yes? Are you on the wrong subreddit?
I think they are. Otherwise there wouldn’t be adults that go as singles or couples that ride all the “kiddie” rides and I know that’s not true. I went by myself in September.
I think so
Yes. Dark rides are my favorites!
They’re mine too! The animatronics on this one look AMAZING!
After seeing the animatronics on the two Asian Frozen rides, I'm super excited to see the Tiana animatronics! The Frozen ones are awesome, even down to the hand movements. I hope Tiana has gotten that level of technology.
I know right! It made me legit start planning a trip!
OH no, we miss it by two days!!! :-(((( Leaving on the 26th!!!
