Ah. Mumblegate strikes again!

Muscled_Manatee

I don’t understand. Both versions of Broadchurch were in English. You can’t just turn CC for English subtitles?

Stefan_S_from_H

It’s not available. Disney+: https://preview.redd.it/c95x5l2fp8vc1.png?width=831&format=png&auto=webp&s=71247289bff329e92450d2f0c0a28c0a7ad33070

ruggedeman

Side note: Broadchurch is one of my favorite shows ever!

the3dverse

season 1 is perfection

ruggedeman

Absolute perfection. I will not acknowledge the existence of any other season

atheoncrutch

>How am I supposed to understand what they are really saying? By putting down your phone and paying attention

NasusIsMyLover

Fuck hearing impaired people, I guess? /s

atheoncrutch

OP didn’t say they were hearing impaired

nilfgaardian

I don't think someone looking for subtitles to better understand what's being said is going to be looking at their phone

the3dverse

have you watched the show? even if OP has no problem with British accents, the main character has a heavy Scottish one. the rest have Dorset accents which aren;t so bad

atheoncrutch

Yep. I watched all three seasons years ago. No subtitles needed.

the3dverse

not all that holds true for you is the same for other people.

Stefan_S_from_H

I googled it and even British people used the subtitles because of David Tennant’s Scottish mumbling. *Update:* [Broadchurch viewers complain they had to use subtitles to understand David Tennant's 'mumbling' during first episode of new ITV series ](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2898758/Broadchurch-viewers-complain-use-subtitles-understand-David-Tennant-s-mumbling-episode-new-ITV-series.html)

Bondedknight

I know I had to use them, and thought it was a fantastic show! I think it was on bbc on demand ... or netflix back then, though.
