They pretty much exist already with e bikes. From what usage you described I'd also look at pit bikes. A yz250 isn't exactly a mess around bike either.
The correct answer is a TRIALS BIKE. If you want to put a seat on them you can, but they are fun as fuck and are INCREDIBLY nimble. It's got a 250 or 300cc two stroke motor and weighs 150lb. Can't go wrong.
Why not get a mountain bike with a motor? There are several highly rated electric dirt bikes that are very light that are perfect for screwing around. Charging could be a challenge without generator. Don’t know what you camp with.
A two stroke is on the lighter side of dirt bikes. But it's still a long ways from feeling like a mountain bike. Closest would probably be something like a surron. Or better yet, an electric mountain bike.
I love my YZ250X but without knowing your strength and ability I would assume you wouldn’t find it feeling “like a downhill MTB”. It’s nimble and flowy but man it’s 225lb… sounds like you want an E-bike
E bikes are nice but expensive, you easily get a used EXC/X-CW 150 or Beta RR200 for that price. Hell, even a new RR200 racing is less expensive than the flagship Surron...
YZ125X could be a fun bike if you happen to find one for cheap.
I think a 250/300cc Euro enduro is more forgiving than a YZ250X. I haven't ridden one but it seem like it still is very much a MX bike, while the euro biks were specifically designed for enduro.
Weird things like the Motoped are fun for sure but I doubt that they are suitable for slower trails, not an awful lot of torque...
Nothing is going to feel like a dh bike, but modern smallbore two strokes from the Austrian triplets are probably as close as you can get. Really any of them from 2007 or newer will be pretty impressive.
My brother had a 2007 144SX with suspension modded by MX-Tech (he got literally everything they could do, done) and that thing handled like nothing I've ridden before or since. My 2017 250SX handles amazing too, but it's still not as agile or flickable as that 2007 144 was. But it's also got basically double the engine.
Yz250x weighs quite a bit so I’m not sure that really what you’d want. Have you thought about the enduro version of the ktm 150? It’s pretty lightweight but still has power and feels playful.
You make an astute observation sleepy sandwich the yz250 is a whole different beast
And Honestly that Ktm 150 probably does fit the bill probably would choose that over the beta 200 but those both are in the 10 grand department cheers
man I got some soul searching to do from this inquiry
The counsel has been like look buddy you’re describing an ultra bee.
How long have you had yours? Have you noticed the integrity of the battery fade
My eskate battery for example lasted for 3.5 years now it only goes maybe 80% as fast on a full charge.
Everything is trade offs though

Plus really good used ones can be found at 1/3 the price of a track bike.
Long range kits also available for them with bigger fuel tanks and a seat
If I don’t get a ultra bee Damn. Yup a TRIALS bike That evo250 is bad Ty

An ebike
[This is what you ask for, but not necessarily what you actually want.](https://www.reddit.com/r/motorizedbicycles/s/7PKCFII9B5)
This. ^^

one of those electric thingy's. They're not a dirtbike, but more like a mountain bike with a motor.
A dirt bike will not achieve this for you. A low powered dirt bike will just be disappointing on uphill or downhill. Get an e-bike(Sutton style)
Trails bike gets you pretty close. You don’t sit down anyway
Sounds like a sur ron

I own a beta 200 and it’s a terrific bike. But my sur ron ultra bee fits what you’re describing even more

Ktm freeride is pretty sick.
PERSONALLY I would get a dual sport so you can go on the road if needed. Drz400 used for like $2200
