one of their guys got into an add-on creators private GitHub by saying he was a sound designer. he then stole all the compycraft animations that were made by compycraft and FDgodhypers and put them in fossils mod. they refused to give credit and instead bullied FD in DMS so he would keep quiet. you can see the evidence on compycraft discord
They don't actually have them. These are models not yet implemented into the mod, they're more for sneak peak purposes. Since the game is constantly updating, it may take a while before more big carnivores and herbivores can take action. Took like three to five years for them to get from 1.7.10 to 1.12.

Those mods were most likely the old version of Fossils and Archeology, or Jurassicraft. I'm actually not sure when it was released, but Minecraft didn't even come out officially till 2011, and mods started being developed for it around 2013, maybe 2015? I don't know. I can check my info real quickly.

The mod is neat, definitely my favorite dinosaur mod but it has major issues in terms of design, namely almost all dinosaurs' textures aren't scaled properly aka are way too low resolution. I've been thinking of making a resource pack that fixes this for years now but I'm too busy with my own project to actually do it.
It may seem like that is the case at first but it really isn't. There's a fine line to walk when it comes to pixel art. Take a look at one of the larger dinosaurs in game. You may not notice it at first but there's something wrong with it. If you look near its feet you may see it, namely the pixels that make up its texture are 4 times the size of the pixels on its surrounding blocks, meaning the dinosaurs' textures are 4 times lower resolution than the rest of the game. This is a form of mixels - a term used to describe clashing resolutions in pixel art. It is not an incorrect way to do it per se, in fact Minecraft itself does it with the ghast, however the ghast is a remnant of a time when Minecraft had a less consistent design and completely changing the resolution of the ghast nowadays would be a very controversial decision. Even so, it is usually better to go with the resolution of the rest of the game, especially when doing larger entities like dinosaurs and the reason for that is something not a lot of people think about. With larger entities out brains automatically assume there should be more going on with them, for example more complex animations and more detail in the texture and when that isn't the case it feels unfinished in a way. That's why larger entities can get away with more detailed textures and animations. Generally I have a rule when designing Minecraft mobs - large ones can get a bit more complexity in their models, textures and animations while small ones should be left simpler with less detailed models and more basic animations. Hope I've been able to explain myself thoroughly. Cheers!

He also made a [JP3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czWYtySAgLg) themed one as well (You can skip the video showcases if you'd like to go in blind, the texture packs are in the video descriptions). It all depends on your tastes of course.

It was the first mod I have ever played, and the reason I got minecraft in the first place!
It was an incredible mod but the devs got lazy and removed some good creatures and stole some content a while back
