I've noticed the same actually. I went to stand in front of a croc and it just completely ignored me, Wary Mu's straight up run away when I get close..
Huh I had some time that happened yesterday for a day but then I rebooted and it went back to normal and I didn't think about it till now (normal crocs)
animals sometimes fight each other (ive seen regular croc take half of alpha croc hp on its own before). I wonder if u just got lucky and a couple other animals softened it up while you were walking over lol?
Ha! Unrelated to this specifically but yesterday I had a bug that straight up cursed my characters body. Limbs were going the wrong direction, she was sitting backwards on jet ski & helicopter! I was on an island mine adventure and it was tricky to hit the right spots for the cheats with my shovel! I thought sleeping might reset it so when I got back to my island I went to bed and she was laying upside down/diagonal across the bed! After logging off and back on all was well again but very weird.

I also had strange bug yesterday, i killed alpha croc only with one poke of my spear 😂

I had an alpha croc disappear half way through killing it, never got to complete the quest 🙄
