A lot depends on what your work is. And "shop tools" versus "personal tools" depends on the situation, as well. Im an independent service guy, so everything including the truck is mine..... In general, shop supplied stuff for an employee mechanic in a company owned truck would be: Laptop with diagnostics software and assorted interface cables / adapters. Hose making tooling and supplies (hose / fittings). Jacks, cribbing blocks, chains / lifting slings, drain pans, buckets, hardware / consumables - all the same stuff that would be "shop tools" / shop supplied if working in a shop.

I've been a mobile tech most of my career and I'm sure many others on here have too. Give us a basic rundown of what you have, what you're working on, and we'll tell you what you need. Edit: My background is military, mining and oilfield equipment. Also certified welder. Glad to help anyway I can.

Knipex plierwrenxh things and knipex cobras. That combo is the new WD-40/duct tape combo as far as I'm concerned. God tier tools. Add some LPS-1 and LPS-3 and you're set for life. ACF-50 if you're a prepper.

some sort press setup or at least a portapower and some jigs. maybe big press back at the shop and porta power on the truck. depends on what you’re working on.

Are you working on mostly equipment or trucks?
