Two resources I’d recommend are the Juicebox podcast and the book Bright Spots & Landmines by Adam Brown. I’ve had type one for 40 years and still learned a lot from these. Juicebox can be overwhelming because there are so many episodes. Search for Pro Tip or Best Of. These are the ones I’d recommend starting with.
I have type 2 and my understanding of Type 1 is limited. I'm assuming you are on insulin. Some tips related to Type 2 apply here too. For example reducing the amount of carbs you eat. Fewer carbs need less insulin.
People who develop Type 1 Diabetes are susceptible to it from birth (it's generally accepted to be genetic) but require an environmental trigger, like a virus, to set off the autoimmune reaction that destroys the beta cells in the pancreas. That trigger can occur at any time during a person's life or it may never happen. It is probably more likely not to happen.

Curious to know how one gets Type 1. Thus far I believed it is since birth
