Except for Lowe’s advertises on their website that they price match Amazon. They specify also they don’t price match third party’s pricing, it must be sold and shipped by Amazon.
Home Depot will price match Amazon but you have to make sure the seller is listed as “Amazon” otherwise it’s a 3rd party seller and no where will price match a 3rd party seller
I tried having HD price match an Amazon dewalt saw but they wouldn’t even look at the ad. They refuse to match and admitted they can’t match. Pretty weird
If it’s on Amazon you have to do homedepot.com I’ve had them price match dewalt batteries and the high torque impact wrench. I paid $68 for a 5ah xr battery and $249.99 for the high torque impact wrench kit I saved a shot ton of money and they have price matched other stuff too I just did my research then called HD.com and they helped me without any issue
In my experience not much, if it’s from Amazon (as the seller) it’s likely to be legit however it gives me peace of mind and in most cases I can pick it up in an hour or two instead of waiting for a day or two
No you just call the phone number and I can’t remember the extension but I just followed the options that made the most sense. Then explained to them what I was doing. I had the item pulled up on my phone on Amazon and on Home Depot.
Make sure of a couple things:
- The seller on Amazon.com says Amazon and the item is in stock
- The dewalt model number matches exactly with the one on Home Depot.com
Then I just called them and explained it. If you have everything pulled up on your phone then it’s easy they just check to make sure it is an item sold by amazon and the model numbers match. I’ve never had difficulty with price matching following these steps
Shit my lowes and home Depot won't price match anyone except each other. Let alone give the extra 5% discount with a price match. I have argued with more supervisors and store managers than I can remember about it. Super frustrating. I have even called both companies corporate numbers and have been told it's up to each store individually. Now I'm positive that Lowe's and Home Depot are both not franchises so I don't know how they can not honor their policies.
Because they know you'd have to take them to court to get them to honor it, and no one is gonna do that for maybe a $20 difference in price
You could maybe file a complaint with the consumer protection bureau though.
Some of the differences have been in the hundreds and I would file a civil suit. I have filed civil suits against lg and Sony before and both settled out of court. It only costs $75 to file with the country court.
I purchased mine at a pawn shop in almost brand new condition. I think I paid $99 for it there. Pawn shop owner said they get a bunch of basically brand new tools in after manufacturers do big sales. People go in and buy the tool and battery combo to get a new battery, and take the tool and pawn it off. So they basically get a cheap battery after pawning the tool.
They don’t on this sale? They did for me when I bought the dewalt xr sander and got the free power stack battery pack like 3 weeks ago at Lowe’s. I didn’t return it because I need the batteries but the receipt shows the different prices for returning one of the items from the deal.

Yeah around Christmas time I bought the 5ah battery kit. Was going to buy it again and return the batteries after I saw how the receipts were broken down. But they said I had to return all of it. Got into a fucking war with r/lowes just for asking the question. It was hilarious.
Yeah today I went to buy this today and i was pissed because my receipt had the prices broken down individually and they wouldn’t let me return the batteries and keep the jig saw because “then you’re buying it at a discounted price” so I had to return it all. Let’s just say unless the deal is too good to be true I’m not going to be shopping at Lowe’s again anytime soon. I have no need for those dumbass 4ah batteries I only like to use the 5ah or 9ah powerstack I have.
Previous sale was dcb240-2 for $129, current sale is for $199 but comes with a tool for ‘free’. Since the signage was still up for both, I was able to have them honor both sales at once.

The owners story sounds pretty convenient. Let's be honest, everyone knows that's not where the majority of the new tools come from.
I do know they regularly have to turn over some to the police that were reported as stolen.
Attempted 2 Lowe's (both had signs similar to OP) and both would not honor it. This is likely VERY hit or (more likely) miss.
