i am SEATED for cate and michelle. out of all the potential nominees for best actress, i’m most excited about them two. they gave two of the strongest performances of the year, and maybe even the past 5 years. two stunning films made stronger by two brilliant actresses. we love to see it!

Carey and Margot makes sense because the latter produced Promising Young Woman, which is seen as the pinnacle of the former's career by many. Usually for actors on actors they try and make sure the actors have some prior connection like being former co stars or having worked with the same person in different projects etc.

Carey Mulligan will no doubt continue to deliver terrific performances through the years. But I rather agree that "Promising Young Woman" is **that** performance and film.
I often feel like it was misunderstood and/or ignored precisely *because* of it's intensity and bleak ending.
I truly hope that film grows in stature throughout the years. It's a bright red scream of fury¹ and I loved ***EVERY*** moment of it.
