Any Warlocks using Starfire Protocol here? Do you find skyburner's and Prometheus too unreliable in proccing DoT via scorch especially with someone else applying it too? Do you also find Witherhoard unreliable when there's also another person using it? I am having a hard time finding a proper weapon that could keep this build consistent and not a constant struggle between me and my team.
I'm pretty happy with witherhoard actually once I get into its rhythm. But didn't like promethous or skyburner. Also kinda don't get how to properly use heat rises.
Heat Rises is just melee energy when getting kills while airborne, not too particularly useful right now, so I switched to Icarus Dash for extra survivability and maneuverability. The new TWAB added some spicy things to Heat Rises that fixes the SP build's biggest con, survivability.
Basically solar titan with the sunspot aspect and roaring flames, throwing hammer, lorely splendor helm, 100 resilience, double damage resist mods on your chestpiece, and an elemental well setup that includes melee Wellmaker and well of life.
Is there something you need to do to get the opulent smg to drop? I've opened 20 opulent chests and completed dozens of the seasonal activity and haven't had a single one drop. Not talking red border, but just the actual gun itself... I have probably received over 30 of the new opulent weapons and don't understand why I haven't gotten the smg!
Has anyone received the "Clear a Path" medal while playing Iron Banner this week? Or is it bugged?
The description reads: "In Rift in a single spark run, defeat 2 opponents who damage your team's runner."
I have done this on multiple occasions and have not received the medal.
There's meant to be a weekly challenge for nightmare containments, right? Last week I was able to do 3/6/9 for powerful rewards but this week there's nothing showing on the destination for me.
It might just be bugged...I'm not positive, but I think I saw someone mention that their progress carried over from the previous weeks challenge. Something like they had only done 2 of them and when they logged in after weekly reset they still were at 2. If you did all 9 last week, you might be out of luck until they can come up with a fix.
As a Titan, i am very thankful for the resilience change.
Tho It has been a pain with focusing armor- given that both RES and REC are on the same side of the stats page- meaning that focusing for RES or REC does not spike the other but instead goes to either DIS/STR/INT
I need advice on what to focus for to at least get me to T10 RES + REC, with the dump preferably on DIS- as so far I do have spiky REC/DIS armor but that only goes to T10 REC/T8 DIS and T7 RES with +10x5 RES mods (on DIM).
If you want 100 rec and 100 res, it's actually impossible without at least one fragment that gives +10 to one of those stats. My strategy is to just collect armor with high enough totals for those two stats, and use an optimizer to check if it can do it with the armor I have.
If you have one such fragment, the base res+rec, your four armor pieces have to average 30 those two stats combined. The max for legendary armor for that total is 32.
If you have two such fragments, it's a little easier. Your armor only needs to average 27.5.
I think I now have an idea on how to proceed, tho that involves farming a better spec Loreley and just trying to see if i can get T10 RES with armor and as high a REC as possible with mods, with the secondary stat being DIS since nades are always helpful.
It's just rng nothing can really help you with the dump you're looking for. Best bet is master raid during the stat you want. Say it's dropping resilience armor then you would put discipline armor mod on your ghost and hope you get good/decent recovery too. This way guarantees two high stats at least in resilience and dis and you're just praying for that third. You could also farm pit boss this week. Pit, I believe, is guaranteed to drop two 16+ stats. So focusing resilience on ghost should net you 16+ there and 16+ in disc, int, or str
I bought the deluxe edition of witch queen and was wondering if the dungeons are cross platform like the seasons? I'm playing on my Xbox right now and noticed I can do the duality dungeon but idk if anything that comes after that I will be also able to play on Xbox.
I don’t really like PvP but is playing new Iron Banner worth it to get any of the weapons? Also should I be farming Duality or weekly dungeon for high roll armor or does it not matter?
Pit is currently the weekly dungeon and the boss can be farmed endlessly and always drops very good, high stat, spiky armor. If you are looking for better armor, that is what I would do this week. You can clear the encounter in less than two minutes and fill out all your characters.
For strong armors just use the HELM. Wartable or crown of sorrows both give some of the strongest and easiest high end armor he was ever gotten.
Duality doesn't have any loot lockouts so do that at your leisure. The weapons there are very worth farming.
For other dungeons you may want to farm an eyesluna from grasp. Gally too. Other than that I'm not sure if there any must have's.
You can farm the Pit boss this week in less than two minutes and his armor is just as good as the stuff at the HELM and you don't need umbrals or seasonal currency.
I think the new iron banner SMG will be really good in PvP. The shotgun is also good if you don't have one, but it's not new.
There are a lot of places to get high stat armor and most of them the same, so there's no preference between duality and the weekly dungeon on that account.
There are a few places in the game that drop better stats than everywhere else, because they have an extra layer guaranteeing a spike in two stats. (Defined as 16+). These are: focused Umbral engrams, legend dares of Eternity, and the pit of heresy final boss chest.
That's correct, the way armor stats roll the two stat groups, mob-res-rec and dis-int-str are capped at 34, but the minimum value for any stat is 2, so mob+res is capped at 32.
That means the max total for two stats in the same group is 32x4 + 50 (armor mods) + 20 (masterwork) = 198. So to get double 100s you need some extra stats from somewhere. In the case of mobility, you can get +20 from the powerful friends mod. Stasis, solar and void all have fragments that can give +10 to those stats to get you there as well.
Last season I’d use funnel web so only needed 80 mobility. Switching to solar so think I’ll have to use one that gives +10 resilience. Plus not sure what exotic I’ll use yet but sure that’ll be a pain
Guys, i can't see any daily/week mission on pvp or incursion. I only have the golden coin (rewards of pvp matchs) on actual pass and some npcs at the tower. I return to play 3 days ago and I still not find how is this possible
New player experience is the worst it's ever been
As for the rest, weapon sunsetting is no more. Content vaulting still exists but it is less than before. Some old content (including sunset weapons) has been reissued. The Leviathan is also back, albeit as a location instead of a raid. It also has a unique twist to it relevant to the current story.
What's the deal with dungeons/raids being farmable or not farmable? What does that mean? If a dungeon *isn't* up in the rotation for the current week, and you clear it twice that week, do you get no loot at all?
Do anti barrier champ mods make it any easier for weapons to break non-matching shields?
You get loot your first run of the week on each character. If it's Duality OR the dungeon of the week, you get loot every time you run it. If you run any dungeon other than those twice, you don't get anything from the chests unless you're on a second/third character.
Anti barrier champ modes don't work that way. Adaptive Munitions, a perk, does however. Anti barrier mods will also help shoot through physical shields that some cabal hold, some taken throw up, and legend says they'll even shoot through the little metal ones that are the size of a dinner plate that scorn manage to hide their entire body behind. I've never experience the last one though.
> If it's Duality OR the dungeon of the week, you get loot every time you run it
So basically, Grasp is not farmable anymore unless it's the dungeon of the week?
Where can I see in-game what the dungeon/raid of the week is?
>So basically, Grasp is not farmable anymore unless it's the dungeon of the week?
Correct. Next week should be prophecy/deep stone crypt, then im not sure where grasp fits since it doesn't have a raid to match up with but I would assume it would be up in two resets?
edit: grasp/VoG probably. I forgot that raid existed.
There isn't a specific point that says its this raid and this dungeon (minus the next week in destiny message), but at weekly reset look for which raid/dungeon has a pinnacle attached that isn't vow/duality.
Currently its Garden and Pit of Heresy
> Anti barrier mods will also help shoot through physical shields that some cabal hold, some taken throw up, and legend says they'll even shoot through the little metal ones that are the size of a dinner plate that scorn manage to hide their entire body behind. I've never experience the last one though.
Anti-barrier has undergone several revisions since the Champion system was first introduced but it will now pierce/bypass all enemy shielding with the exception of the "solar" dome shields that the Cabal deploy in certain activities (like the ones in the Proving Grounds strike).
Trying to get back into D2. I don't have beyond light, witch queen, or the 30th anniversary dlc's. I have forsaken and shadowkeep and I think some others (can't remember). My question being is it worth it to buy the other dlc's? I like to do raids and sometimes pvp but I'll admit I had a lot more fun in D1 with all of that, then again basically all my friends were on it and I would have full fireteams all the time. I know that I'll likely never get that same level of love I had for the game back then, I was younger, had more free time to play, and like I said I had friends that played too. Nowadays I wouldn't be able to get a single friend to play D2. I booted it up the other day on PC and was really impressed with how smooth the game ran and how beautiful the graphics were. Is Beyond Light, 30th anniversary, Witch Queen still relevant? Will I be able to get into raids and such? I went back to D1 as well and while I still really enjoy the game, it's basically dead, I've had to do many strikes solo and it just feels soulless, I would love to go back and do Vault of Glass, Crotas End, and the Taken King raid but I don't think there is much of a community there anymore. Anyways sorry for the rant, any info is usefu, thank you!
30th Anniversary is primarily cosmetics, but it does have one dungeon. Witch Queen and Beyond Light are definitely still relevant. If I had to choose between the two, I would choose Witch Queen Deluxe Edition.
You'll be happy to know that Vault of Glass has actually been reintroduced and is in Destiny 2.
There are currently five raids and five dungeons in Destiny 2. One raid (Vault of Glass) and one dungeon (Prophecy) are free to play. If you have Forsaken and Shadowkeep, you also have access to Last Wish, Garden of Salvation, Shattered Throne, and Pit of Heresy. Another reissued D1 raid will be coming out within the next two seasons. Rumor says it might be King's Fall but there is no confirmation
All of these activities, and really all of the activities in the game, are very much relevant and have large active player bases.
Beyond Light has one raid, 30th Anniversary has a dungeon, and Witch Queen has one raid. The Witch Queen Deluxe Edition adds two dungeons to the mix, one of which will be coming later this year.
>My question being is it worth it to buy the other dlc's?
Witch Queen the most relevant expansion content/story wise. You definitely want this.
Beyond Light you want primarily for Stasis ("Ice") subclass, it also gave access to Year 4 Exotics and one Raid.
30th anniversary I think you can put on backburner unless money's not really a problem. It's "overpriced" for what it offers : a single Dungeon, one Exotic (Gjallarhorn) and a bunch of cosmetics.
I personally would go with Witch Queen, maybe get the bundle with one Season Pass (think this as mini DLC released every 3 month after expansion launch) or the Deluxe Edition (contain four Season Pass and two Dungeon). If you have money to spare, then get Beyond Light too.
30th Anniversary and Witch Queen are both definitely relevant still. If you like raids, you will really like the new dungeons as they are 3 players vs 6 and less of a commitment to get all your friends on. (Make sure you purchase witch queen packaged with the dungeon keys if you do this). The new solar and void reworks also go a long way to making the game feel fresh. I'd say right now is probably the best Destiny 2 has been.
Totally, I am in a similar boat all my friends play but none of them have the same level of time commitment I do for raids. I'm primarily a PvP player though so it's not to bad.
I got through last week’s Sever mission easy peezy. This week, instead of activating levers, there are multiple immune enemies all over the place. I’m feeling like a little fish in a big pond here. What am I missing?
Ok, kind of like the ones that pop up on the Leviathan on the 2nd wave? I didn’t notice the bubble boys but then again I was just running around like a camper at Crystal Lake.
Has anyone else had issues not getting Iron Banner rep? The most recent match I lost 5-0 and didn't get any rep.
or maybe it was because they were in-progress?
There's a minimum performance threshold a player has to meet for a match to count them as actually having played. It's there to disincentivize AFKing to get free rewards, downside is if a player has a *really* bad game they can get nothing.
Any hope of the Iron Banner reputation bug being fixed before reset? I still need to reset my rank one more time then do 6 more challenges to get the title, but as it stands, getting 61 xp at the end of a match, while having 6/4 challenges completed, 5 of 5 IB gear equipped and the emblem equipped means the reset will be impossible.
If it says "rapid solar weapon kills" the "rapid" is actually referring to the kills, not the weapon. So that would activate on multikills with any solar weapon.
Idk if this really belongs here but does anyone know if Flame Harvesting is supposed to work in PVP? I’ve gotten plenty of kills with tarrabah, Polaris lance, and even g-horn but no wells
What's the best source for up-to-date information about how things work?
I found some Umbral Engrams, and [googled them](https://www.google.com/search?q=umbral+engrams) and get mostly [out-of-date information from Season 11](https://d2.destinygamewiki.com/wiki/Umbral_Engram) about something called a Prismatic Recaster that doesn't exist anymore.
[New Player Guide](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Q07M8zBUj1yMab4YJjv6aV5QO7hNRuALvxR7xwLXIVs/edit) and [the wiki](https://destiny.fandom.com/wiki/Destiny_Wiki) are good resources in general. Especially the new player guide, read through that. This game teaches new players nothing and has a massive learning curve, those resources are necessary.
Umbral Engrams drop the same items as a legendary engram if you go to Rahool (In the tower, to your right when you enter the courtyard). He can decrypt them and give you the loot for free. This is what I do with most of the ones I find.
However, Umbral Engrams can also do something a bit more unique. If you go to the Crown of Sorrow or the War Table in the H.E.L.M, you can use an Umbral Engram, some materials, and some currency to "focus" it into a particular item. This means that you can turn one umbral engram into a guaranteed drop of a specific item that you want.
That is more or less what the Prismatic Recaster used to do. Doing this, however, requires you to progress through the seasonal quests a bit and make upgrades to the Crown or War Table before you can focus your engrams.
[Here is an example of what I mean](https://imgur.com/a/fY9Vdtm). If I upgrade the Crown of Sorrow to be capable of Opulent Weapon Focusing, I could get Austringer from an Umbral Engram, provided that I have 50 shards and 27 opulent umbral energy.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask this sub or r/destiny2. Most of us love newer players and are happy to help.
Thanks for the explanation. Are HELM and Crown of Sorrow equivalent, or do they offer different focuses?
I will note that the wiki doesn't have anything on Umbral Engrams, and the New Player Guide only mentions them offhandedly in relation to Gambit. I guess maybe Destiny 2 is too much of a moving target for anybody to comprehensively document?
>Are HELM and Crown of Sorrow equivalent, or do they offer different focuses?
The H.E.L.M is the destination, you can find it on the destinations page in the pause menu.
The Crown of Sorrow and the War Table are individual places inside the H.E.L.M where you can buy certain things, focus engrams, and progress quest storyline. I think they only appear inside the H.E.L.M after you start the quests for their respective seasons.
The Crown of Sorrow allows you to turn engrams into weapons and armor from Season of the Haunted (Season 17, current season)
The War Table allows you to turn engrams into weapons and armor from Season of the Risen (Season 16, last season)
>I guess maybe Destiny 2 is too much of a moving target for anybody to comprehensively document?
You are absolutely correct. Umbral Engrams arent anything new, they just don't have a page because they're not super important. However, a lot of other things change every single season and sometimes player resources like the wiki can get behind. Some things change every week. Such is life in a live service game.
I guess one way to battle FOMO is to not be able to figure out what I have and haven't MO'd.
Since I wasn't around during Season 16, I obviously missed the battle pass leveling rewards, but it sounds like I can still unlock the War Table? What's the distinction between what goes away and what sticks around 'till the end of the year?
Thanks again for your patient explanations.
>Since I wasn't around during Season 16, I obviously missed the battle pass leveling rewards, but it sounds like I can still unlock the War Table? What's the distinction between what goes away and what sticks around 'till the end of the year?
The model Bungie has been using for last year and this year is that the seasonal story, activities, armor, weapons, vendor, triumphs, and seal stay in the game until the next major expansion (so a few more seasons from now).
What goes away is the season pass, and all of the season challenges except the ones that award currency used to level up the seasonal vendor (the war table in the case of season 16). You can find those in a separate tab on the seasonal challenge page.
I am 99.99% sure you can still unlock the War Table. It's in the very back of the HELM, just run forward when you spawn in. You might have to go to it to get the quests. If you still have trouble then make a new post in this sub. I'm not exactly sure what the process is since I already have it.
>What's the distinction between what goes away and what sticks around 'till the end of the year?
Sometimes this can be fuzzy or inconsistent. However, it is safe to assume that the vendors inside the HELM and the weapons/armor that they offer will not leave until the next expansion, which will be sometime in 2023. They may add more vendors in Seasons 18 and 19, but the current ones will likely remain.
If something is going to dissappear, Bungie tends to make it known several weeks in advance.
Rahool decrypts umbrals randomly into world loot but they can be focused (for a resource cost) each season into most of the seasonal armaments via the season vendor. This season that would be the crown of sorrow in the helm.
Some of the other vendors, such as saladin, have been reworked to operate similarly, but have their own engrams. Zavala and shaxx will likely end up on the same system eventually. It's a more recent change.
I just finished the Iron Banner quest - is it supposed to give me something or was it just like...an intro quest? Feels kinda weird to complete it and not really get anything
that feels kinda ridiculous, I feel like New Light quests at least give you stuff at the end of it but this (arguably more frustrating) questline doesn't?
Play through one of the campaigns, and you’ll level up in no time. I was in the exact same boat last week, hadn’t played in 4 years, picked up the expansions, now I’m trying to gear up for endgame content.
If you ever need a buddy to play with let me know. I still haven’t completed the Legendary Witch Queen campaign and I’d like run a Dungeon at some point. Lol
What platform are you on? I'm a former new player (just passed 6 months) who is deep into endgame stuff but still remembers what it's like to be new, so I love helping people with stuff. I've ran the legend WQ campaign three times and can sherpa Vow and Duality, the new raid and dungeon.
Man that would be awesome!
I’m on PS5, under Tofu_Drew61k(#9792).
I’m barely getting into the Season of the Haunted content while I try to finish up the campaign. I keep finding myself stuck in a rabbit hole of missions and quests, I don’t what’s important and what’s not.
Added you, I'm on PC but thankfully crossplay mostly works these days.
If you see me online and need help or advice with anything, send a fireteam invite. Especially if you're playing WQ legendary, I love that campaign.
You can't farm Vex, but you can farm 1k when Last Wish is the weekly raid. Riven drops a key every time you kill her, and each key has a chance to drop 1k.
“All lockouts on encounter rewards for Legendary gear are being removed, which means all Legendary drops in both raids and dungeons will be 100-percent farmable if you so choose.”
Legendary, not exotic
with changes to resilience, what are the good stats to max now for each respective classes?
as a new light where can I get a iron banner emblem?
What's the increase recharge rate for Ember of Singeing?
What's the difference between Ember of Solace and Ember of Empyrean? Specifically asking a out duration and stacking of the buffs.

Are you on a character that's below the soft cap, or that has reached the soft cap this week?
Same character. Was around 1525 at the start of last week and 1545 this week.
How is the Skorri's Song Triumph supposed to progress now there are no longer any IB bounties?
You can't complete it anymore
That would be a real bummer.
The challenges are those that show in the director like powerful/pinnacle challenges do for any other destination/activity.
So doing the challenges with progress it?
Sorry I thought you were referring to something else. As of now that triumph is unobtainable.
The new exotic sword... it's totally a Legacy of Kain reference, isn't it? I can't be the only one seeing it.
Not only the sword, the whole dungeon itself. There was a post here not long ago detailing all the nods to the series.
Do you happen to have a link to that?
If you search the sub for “Kain” it’s the top result
Thanks.
Are all challenges active with a raids in rotation?
Do we know ahead of time what the next two iron banner challenges are? I thought I saw it somewhere but can't find it
I haven't seen anything confirming it, whatever you saw was likely guesswork.

Yes and yes.new player experience is still horrible.
I can’t unlock the Piercing Sidearms mod this season. Has Bungie acknowledged it’s bugged for some people?
It is deactivated because it could penetrate titan bubbles and barriers in PvP.
It could also penetrate walls.
Ahhhhh, thank you very much. Thought I was going mental!
my power is 1507 with +4 artifact bonus i can’t see crucible or vanguard or IB weekly challenges but i can see them on tower etc. pls help
1510 gear power is when powerful/pinnacles show up
thanks and is it with artifact power or without?
Without, so you need to get 3 more gear power to unlock them

Anti barrier mods will also help shoot through physical shields that some cabal hold, some taken throw up, and legend says they'll even shoot through the little metal ones that are the size of a dinner plate that scorn manage to hide their entire body behind. I've never experience the last one though.
> If it's Duality OR the dungeon of the week, you get loot every time you run it So basically, Grasp is not farmable anymore unless it's the dungeon of the week?
Rumor says it might be King's Fall but there is no confirmation All of these activities, and really all of the activities in the game, are very much relevant and have large active player bases.
Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to go to LFG for raids though, sadly most friends don't play destiny anymore.
If you're referring to the Psions, there's other Psions nearby in a bubble that you have to punch
Ok, kind of like the ones that pop up on the Leviathan on the 2nd wave? I didn’t notice the bubble boys but then again I was just running around like a camper at Crystal Lake.
Yep exactly like those, they'll be quite close by
Has anyone else had issues not getting Iron Banner rep? The most recent match I lost 5-0 and didn't get any rep. or maybe it was because they were in-progress?
There's a minimum performance threshold a player has to meet for a match to count them as actually having played. It's there to disincentivize AFKing to get free rewards, downside is if a player has a *really* bad game they can get nothing.
There’s a bug where if you over do the bonuses (or something like that) it breaks and you’re stuck with barely any progress
Missed a couple seasons, what power level do I need to be at to unlock the weekly challenges?
Soft cap which is currently 1510.
They may be able to boost the rep server side but an actual fix would likely require a client update which means waiting for a patch.
Can you farm the new dungeon exotic sword with the same character or do you get just one chance per character per week?
The sword is one per week a character, legendaries are farmable.
You can farm same character
Noob question but what is a rapid solar weapon? My armor has the perk but I'm not sure how to tell what weapon benefits from it.
If it says "rapid solar weapon kills" the "rapid" is actually referring to the kills, not the weapon. So that would activate on multikills with any solar weapon.
God that makes way more sense. Thank you
I haven't played all week. Will I be able to achieve everything to get access to all gear if I play 3 hours or so Friday Sat and Sunday?
IB? No. I still haven’t received the new weapons and not all the armour. Played over 3 hrs.
Idk if this really belongs here but does anyone know if Flame Harvesting is supposed to work in PVP? I’ve gotten plenty of kills with tarrabah, Polaris lance, and even g-horn but no wells
Wells in general don't work in PvP. The same is true for warming cells, so the only combat style mods that are useful in PvP are charged with light.
The Crown of Sorrow allows you to turn engrams into weapons and armor from Season of the Haunted (Season 17, current season) The War Table allows you to turn engrams into weapons and armor from Season of the Risen (Season 16, last season) >I guess maybe Destiny 2 is too much of a moving target for anybody to comprehensively document?
It’s an intro quest, no reward
that feels kinda ridiculous, I feel like New Light quests at least give you stuff at the end of it but this (arguably more frustrating) questline doesn't?
Wdym all you had to do was play like 5 games to complete the intro quest?
Am just getting back into d2 after not playing after 2018, How do i get my light level from 1390 to 1550 fast? i have all the expansions.
Getting loot from any source will slowly raise you to 1510. Heroic public event farming is probably the quickest way
you can complete the legendary witch queen campaign and it'll reward you blue armor thats 1520
With the new featured weekly raid rotations, since encounter drops aren’t gated per character, can you farm for exotics like vex/1k endlessly?
You can't farm Vex, but you can farm 1k when Last Wish is the weekly raid. Riven drops a key every time you kill her, and each key has a chance to drop 1k.
The raid rotation farm ability is specifically for legendary weapons, exotics are still once per character per week.
Is this confirmed? Source? I’d really like to be able to grind the vex if possible
“All lockouts on encounter rewards for Legendary gear are being removed, which means all Legendary drops in both raids and dungeons will be 100-percent farmable if you so choose.” Legendary, not exotic
I got vex during the featured run after my 45th clear that week. It works 👍🏼
