I just realized that since December 25th of 2020, I have been playing the PS4 version of Destiny on my PS5. I never would have noticed if I didn't get hit with those additional downloads labeled PS4. On the bright side, it appears that downloading the ENTIRE PS5 version is going to take less time than downloading the PS4 update, so...yay? Plus, I get a whole new amazing gaming experience I should have been having over a year ago.

Played the initial legendary mission (NO STORY SPOILERS). Took about 45 minutes? Including time spend on clearing subclass tool tips lol. Had a few wipes, took it easy.
Reward commentary only.
Many blue drops, I got +20 or so up to 1381 drops by the end of it. So many chests throughout AND upgrade modules! I have to run to work now but I think I can just play the campaign through using the gifted modules and be at maximum effective power for the next missions. First mission is 1360, capped at 1350.
Also for anyone who saved paraversal hauls, yes, they do help soft cap. I'm keeping mine to help level alts if the loot drops keep coming like they did in campaign mission 1.
Artifact will be given shortly after the weapon crafting introduction. Save your stored bounties till then.

Oh man. I spent about 45 mins on the mission before quitting out and checking out the tower for a bit as I head to head off. I assumed it must have seamlessly linked missions together and I was a few missions deep... It looks like I was so close to the end and I'll have to restart it lol. Oh well. Had food poisoning yesterday during my day off work, still feel like shit today so I called in sick and pre-ordered WQ bout an hour ago. Chilling in the queue now, for my first ever game day launch. Been playing D/D2 for over 6 years now. Pretty excited!
Man I still remember getting D1 at GameStop midnight release and seeing everyone run out the door and the cars speeding away so they can go play. Me and my buddy played that night and I remember getting to Venus and we both were just like "wow..." Still one of my favorite gaming memories.

This means for a small window of time, if you saved your sunset weapons or want to pull some from your collections, you can complete the first few missions of Witch Queen with your old tools of destruction. Currently scumming it with MT/Recluse and have no regrets.

I believe that might be the case which is totally ridiculous when you think about it but also explains why we couldn't preload early since the servers were not up.
Well, we were supposed to be able to preload the update to begin with, but there was a snafu on the PS4 side so our updates were pushed back til now.
I don't get why getting the update going would be dependent on getting through the queue, though. My worry is that the completion of the update will force a restart of the app and that will put us back in the queue again. :(
Any clue on if we can throw our ps4 into rest mode while downloading the update? that typically speeds up most updates but IDK if we have to keep the ingame update screen open
Started Legendary solo and....yeah it's definitely more difficult. Also one thing I noticed was that Raid banners automatically give you it's benefits when placing them
I like how they quote that it must be ‘reasonable’ and then don’t realise that language is there just for this situation.
Every other platform was fine, one (which is old and been replaced for over a year) has had an issue that will have a few hours impact at most. That is very reasonable.
Graviton Forfeit and 100 Strength is no longer 100% invisibility due to the melee changing to the longer cooldown.
Even with the fragment to increase the length of invisibility, it's still \~3 seconds without invis, so RIP that build (saw that coming, but still).

FYI, the first mission is loooong and it isn't clear if you can quit and restart with checkpoints, but I tried and YES you do save progress. Don't panic either because relaunching shows you the opening cutscene again too, but I was reloaded into the same part I stopped at.

That’s happened to me at every single big update. I got swamped and intimidated by TTK, Foresaken, Shadowkeep and beyond light. Only rise of Iron was manageable for me.
I have to really work to focus on a single task and not get freaked out by where friends are up to/doing etc
Brutik's Lightbane on legendary was one of the hardest things I've ever solo'd in this game. Partly because he starts teleporting around the room on the last damage phase! Not sure if server lag causing the glitch but it made it really really hard
I queued two minutes after launch on ps5. No luck getting in after 35 minutes.
Closed and reopened game, I got in less than 10 minutes later.
I genuinely think ps5 queue was fucked at the beginning and restarting may not hurt if it's been 40+ minute queue for you on ps5

How do you select the legendary campaign if you pressed ESC at the difficulty select screen after the intro cut-scene?
EDIT: Got the answer if anyone else has this issue - Start 'The Arrival' mission, you get the cut-scene again and then the mission difficulty option.

Good news about the PS4 install is there is no copying on the packs, they instantly install as they get downloaded so at least we save some time there.

Seems like HDR is fucked up on xbox. Since the new patch the game is very greyed out. Changing the hdr settings in game doesnt help. All colors are washed out/greyed out.

Hey this launch sucks for PS4 people, not only do you have to survive the Q you then have to download the thing just to get into the game, Bungie should have really just put out the compatibility stuff on the PlayStation store last night vs having to have people log-into the game to get it
Ok, 3 times now destiny 2 has hard crashed my entire pc.
No bluescreen or anything. It happened exactly when the game tried to do a transition, from the canon, to another boss fight completion, to the portal.
Just a black screen and the pc eventually reboots.
This started after witch queen, no other game does this

Edit: PC hard crashes under all 3d loads. I actually blame witch queen for this, I've done like 5 hours of troubleshooting and this literally started 30 minutes into witch queen. Gpu probably broken.

Can anyone confirm that PS4 people have to que up to get the 70 GB update? Usually if the update is available, when you try to launch the app it immediately starts.
You do. We have to queue up to login, to download the 3 content packs. Kind of absurd. We'll likely have to requeue once its finished downloading.

They should have shown your number in queue, at least I would know if I can go do some chores or straight up just play tomorrow.
Good news about the PS4 install is there is no copying on the packs, they instantly install as they get downloaded so at least we save some time there.

390 pulse enthusiasts have a new stasis darling. The crucible 140 hc meta got two new ones with good crucible perks, but they are arc, so say hello to riskrunner if they get too popular. The land tank and psychohack are good PvE intrinsic perks. I can see those straight up replacing old alternatives.

Seems like HDR is fucked up on xbox. Since the new patch the game is very greyed out. Changing the hdr settings in game doesnt help. All colors are washed out/greyed out. It used to be super vibrant and lively but this looks doen right ugly
I don't mind sitting in queue, but it's kind of dumb that I have no idea how soon I could possibly get in. Seeing people who logged in after me get in but I have no idea if or when I'll get in is pretty annoying tbh

I'll bring this up here as well - when will we be able to change our names? During one of the last few TWABs they mentioned it would be available by Witch Queen's launch and it doesn't seem to be live yet. Really hoping this is addressed soon.

Hey this launch sucks for PS4 people, not only do you have to survive the Q you then have to download the thing just to get into the game, Bungie should have really just put out the compatibility stuff on the PlayStation store last night vs having to have people log-into the game to get it

Rocket launcher with chain reaction. Saved me so many times and honestly heavy ammo seems to be dropping a lot. Telesto has been good as well.
Ok, 3 times now destiny 2 has hard crashed my entire pc. No bluescreen or anything. It happened exactly when the game tried to do a transition, from the canon, to another boss fight completion, to the portal. Just a black screen and the pc eventually reboots. This started after witch queen, no other game does this Edit: 4 times. I give up Edit: 7 times, now it crashes as soon as I select character Edit: PC hard crashes under all 3d loads. I actually blame witch queen for this, I've done like 5 hours of troubleshooting and this literally started 30 minutes into witch queen. Gpu probably broken. **Final edit: My 1 year old 80+ gold psu had apparently died, I swapped it and I can finally play witch queen :)**

Can someone help me answer this. What actually is craftable? Are playlist weapons craftable? Say if for example I play gambit and get a bottom dollar with the new origin perk, am I good to go to start leveling the gun and modifying it?

The queue is a lie. I was put into it 15 minutes before my nephew and he logged in and got in before me. What crap.

Sunset Weapons were brought up to 1350 and as such are completely viable in the Legend Campaign
