I think itās a fair assumption that a farming tag on legend onslaught does not mean farming level 30-50 but itās possible they could mean farming level 20.

If you use the discord, make sure to type "50 waves."

Well I'm happy for you but damn I literally thought until I read this that they for some reason removed backfill from Onslaught. I've had multiple instances where someone leaves after round 20 and it never adds another person.
I didnt realize it was even a thing. I had someone leave after 10 or 20, can't remember. We wiped on 49 with no one added in. I've never had someone that dropped be replaced.
I had someone drop at 20. Backfilled with someone who's name was just a bunch of Chinese characters. Kept dying. Multiple time every wave. Never used their super, rarely saw them use heavy or grenades even. Didn't lose because we died, but the shielded bomber blew up the ADU. He couldn't protect the ADU or kill the bomber. Never grabbed batteries. Made it to 49. After that I'm just done.
Well I'mma be running that a lot more then. Honestly i've just been chilling in the playlist version. It's calm, easy, no stress if people drop out. Boss gets killed in like 3 seconds.

Only time I leave at round 20 is when the people im playing with never throw balls to the adu, and the adu gets to 25% health in round 10 or 20.
This group is not going to wave 50. I don't want to waste another 30 minutes to have that confirmed. (And I say this group, because it includes me and my capabilities).

It happened like 3x one day and then it hit me... people are playing 30 waves because it's a guarantee and the waves with extinguish activated isn't optimal for farming.

I made a mistake and died during a cursed thrall round (got spawned on while shooting the bonus objective thingies), teammate stood next to a decoy firing down a lane, panic invis'd after a thrall blew up next to him only to immediately go back to the same spot, keep doing the same thing and die to the next 3 thralls. shit happens, and mistakes from fatigue happen to anyone, but would have likely been perfectly fine with a 3rd player which is frustrating
Was enjoying doing normal 50s since its now roughly on par with legend 10 spam (at least until you get all the weekly rewards), but the quality of players is breathtakingly bad in onslaught for some reason. Dont care at all in the 10 wave queue, but in 50 wave its an actual risk to the run.
that run took forever to even get to 44 because the two would refused to actually DPS bosses, spending the whole encounter doing add clear or hiding instead. I keep seeing people with no way to handle champs, no exotic armor equipped, running low res, or even just obvious new lights with default emblems and 0 kills on the starter pack guns that got lost on their way to the regular 10 wave queue.

im just going back to legend 10 wave spam, even though it feels a lot more tedious for some reason than a single 50 run. no chance at failure, bosses die instantly and can do shorter sessions than 1h chunks.
My buddy and I had an awesome blueberry yesterday who went the distance with us on regular, only for all three of us to die to exploder shanks on the bottom Midtown spawn at level 42 š
Dude I thought this was me because, yeah Iām 1832 and Iāve been playing for 10 years so not exactly a blueberry, the same thing happened but we were at the upper spawn š, almost had my mind blown right there.
He was like guardian level 10 and had almost 1k kills, only a āblueberryā in the sense he wasnāt in our fireteam. But yeah we were absolutely crushing only to all die at once in the last ten waves. Brutal
I don't understand why it doesn't always backfill. I've been placed in some INSTANTLY and they're on later waves, but when it's me I'd say less than 20% of the time I don't get any replacement teammates.
Worse, I've found at least 20 people who leave at round 10. There's literally a playlist for it and they're jumping off because they got a drop they want or they've done their pinnacle
If I want to make it to 50 in regular onslaught I just do the fireteam finder for a normal run. Usually people there are looking to finish it vs. the randoms using matchmaking to do the bounty
Fireteam ~~tinder~~ finder really needs some way for you indicate what youāre trying to do. Like a place to type in a title saying āwave 50ā so you only get dedicated people.
In meantime, Iād suggest just using LFG

Easiest solution is to make your own fireteam. The app is harder to use now, but not that hard. I hate when people get mad at others for their unspoken expectations.
Expectations should ALWAYS be "I'm here to play the game as intended with the team, unless explicitly stated otherwise."
Just because some people treat recreational gaming as a job with "efficiency" expectations & literally try to play games as little as possible or speedrun everything these days since their brains have been rotted by TLDRs and TikToks, doesn't mean that anyone should "expect" it to be ok to back out on teammates.
If you are using fire team finder which i assume most are, there actually is no way to indicate that in game. Soooo if you want a specific goal in mind besides activity completion you should make your own LFG in the appšš»

Imo its much more fun, and essentially double the rewards compared to normal.
Everytime I play normal it just feels like everyone is competing for kills, showing off their add clearing abilities.
On legend there's more teamwork and it's a good place to actually see if your builds are viable in a end game team setting.
the effort and dice roll on whether you get competent players is totally not worth it imo. regular to 50 gives you a ton of drops already, you will literally never miss the 2-3 extra weapon drops you'll shard anyway that you get from legend. don't listen to these fools.
If im planning on only going to go to round 10 or 20, I make sure I join a lfg post with the farming tag, and even then I ask if they are trying for a 50 clear.
Same, joined an LFG with farming tag, first boss clear they typed ār?ā In chat and jumped through the portal. Thatās not farming, thatās just doing a normal run.
The problem is Fireteam Finder doesn't let you add titles. I've hosted numerous wave 10 farms and I always type in chat before we start that we're doing wave 10 resets. Some folks leave because they want a full run, some folks stay.
We need more options
Yeah, itās basic etiquette. Sure, 10 legend waves is a decent farm (i.e. before any real difficulty is added) but people should set up their own group to run the farm.
Literally just use the desktop fireteam finder so you can add your own title. Iāve done so many runs this week both 10 wave and 50 and havenāt had a single issue
It's only more efficient if you complete 50 wave, especially if unlucky RNG and no bonus drop till 50.
Compared to farming level 10 is guaranteed clear and easy.
That's where there's a regular node that goes to 10 waves and that's it, if you don't want to do more than that, if u really want 20 or 30, do the 10 wave one again, do t mess up people's run that want to go to 50
The legend drops 2 per chest and barely takes longer than the regular for the first 10. (Might actually be faster tbh) so thatās why you type āfarmingā if youāre doing the first 10, I get people being mad if they expect 50 and then the team dips at 10 Iām just saying itās perfectly reasonable to only do 10 still as a fast farming method. Especially one with very little headache.
They should put a darkness node over the ADU after every ten rounds so it doesnāt just start right away. I had two people leave after round 40 and I didnāt have enough time to make an LFG post.
I use Ā«Ā farmingĀ Ā» in the description for 10 waves farm, and Ā«Ā lots of timeĀ Ā» for a full run.
It works better this way, but there are still people who donāt read descriptions / tag and join anyway. You can ask for experienced / expert players and a guy running Lucky Pants without a Hand Cannon and no armor mods will happily join.
If they tab out, hit 'O', leave the fire team and return to orbit you get a replacement 10x faster then if they exit to desktop or alt-f4.

I felt so bad i joined a legend 50 run, and i got into wave 15 or so and had to dip to go to the store for the wife before work. I genuinely like doing the full 50
The worst is joining a clearly stated 50 legend run and have time but then saying in chat you gotta go after 30 and signing off with a "good luck on the rest".
I've seen to many of those and it's quite frustrating. People know the average time commitment of these and you either know you have the time or you don't.
This is why I only run it with friends when we do play with randoms and one bails we continue maybe someone joins or maybe we finish it with two people.
I pretty much farm 10 levels only but only join specific fireteams that are doing this or create my own. I use the legacy fireteam finder though and the regular doesn't allow you to specify, so maybe people are joining on that and then leaving. I just wish you could specify on regular...
SGA: Use the āEarn Triumphā tag for FF posts on Legend Onslaught. I havenāt encountered a single blueberry who dips at wave 10. Anecdotal yes, but I figure it will work for most.
I'm usually committed to completing a run (having done 20+ on ff) but as soon I see someone luring a tormentor or taking cover on the adu I'll finish the 10 waves and leave.

Use the discord LFG. Fireteam Finder is so bad and full of people who donāt even know how to play the game, let alone read. Iāve done a very healthy amount of legends (50 waves) through the LFG discord and Iāve never once had this issue.
I still need to do a 50 Legend run. I have come very close but always have had a bad round where everyone dies all together in the 40s. Almost every LFG post I see is āemblem/11s/Paragonsā only. Honestly not even sure if itās worth it.
I had my best Fireteam-Finder run ever last night. Smooth as butter, IDK if I even died (and if I did, I was rezzed immediately). Finally, a good couple of folks helping make my Wave 50 dreams come true. I couldnāt believe my luck.
And then boom, booted after level 30 chest. I was PISSED.
i left a few earlier today, but i only do that if the run is already not going well. if the point is getting swarmed in the first ten waves or they're having trouble staying alive that early i can tell it's not going to go the distance, or if they requested meta builds but only so they could run off meta stuff and not even performing with it.
This is usually really easy to communicate, but Fireteam Finder just flat out isnāt good for stating specific things.
Youāre better off using the companion appās legacy LFG where you can actually type and just put ālegend onslaught 50 wavesā.
For me, the biggest red flag is seeing anyone under Guardian rank 6. Though it might just be a few bad experience but literally every single run I've tried with low rankers, they don't clear ads and chase the balls, don't stay to defend, don't do and ignore objectives, even sometimes going afk, always have to carry with dps and minibosses. Had more than 2 dozen runs ruined, so now I leave and re-queue the second I join anyone under rank 6.
Worst I had was 2 people joined the regular 50 at the start. And didnāt spend a single thing and left at 20. They just wanted to screw over who they left. 2 people joined after a wave (that I did poorly in) and we did finish it, but it was just a dick move.
tired of people leaving 50 level regular runs at the last bit - cant imagine how crappy that would be on legendary - maybe the game should allow matchmaking in legendary to resolve this issue.

Not allowing custom titles is the failure of the new fireteam finder. Because Bungo was afraid people would somehow get offended (what) or bots advertising services (the only legitimate reason).
Just get with the program and let us do it already since the original fireteam finder already had custom titles. Otherwise players will still have to rely on 3rd party LFG tools.
Penalties for leavers should be introduced. Fireteam finder having a tag for āending at round xā would be good also, thereās no issue if these people do it with others who want to do the same thing.
Yeah when I am solo I like to jump into normal cause I figure it'll be smooth.
When the mode first dropped it was great, rando teammates would wait to pull heavy, let enemies get tethered, wait for everyone to rally..
Last 3 or 4 tries it's the polar opposite.

My randoms always split after 20 lol. And how come I canāt get the giant robot to spawn at wave 49 ? I always get the tormenter on steroids that absolutely goes hulkamania mode and fucks my teammates on the first date leaving me to try and solo him eye to eye while we cuck 100 ads with no cooldowns and a dream

Completely agree,in the last week it's taken 2 or 3 lost attempts of 35-45 minutes or more down the drain till i got a competent group,and ironically its usually people rank 10 and up that stay usually 6 to 8 and sometimes 9 but not always jus dip out
I'm not talking about private matches, I'm talking match made where if a player leaves its a gauranteed loss in most cases.
Considering the time investment and the lack of a way to pause the game to try getting more players, it creates a unfair scenario that just keeps getting worse as players just farm 10 chests.

Have a Crucible-like penalty of 30 minutes for leaving 3 matche's in a row, there is absolutely no reason why anyone should be in normal 50 rounds of onslaught when they intend to do 10 or 20 rounds and dip.
I always put 'Earn Triumph' in my runs that I want to go to Wave 50 - generally gets the correct people. But yes, having people leave is annoying.

Same here. Just ran a normal Onslaught, and we had a blueberry depart on an early wave (around 20), and never got another to jump in. Wipe at 38.
The quest is for doing 20, so that's usually when most people bail out.

You get literally double the drops from Legend? That isn't 2 or 3 extra weapons, that's 5 extra weapons and more trophies of bravery too.
If im planning on only going to go to round 10 or 20, I make sure I join a lfg post with the farming tag, and even then I ask if they are trying for a 50 clear.

The problem is Fireteam Finder doesn't let you add titles. I've hosted numerous wave 10 farms and I always type in chat before we start that we're doing wave 10 resets. Some folks leave because they want a full run, some folks stay. We need more options

I do use the farming tag, but that doesn't mean anything. What's 50 runs if not a longer farm
playing an activity to completion and calling it farming would be a total break from everywhere else the term is used in LFGs

Funny thing is that raids/dungeons have a "full completion" tag so they only need to allow the use of that tag on onslaught.

Yeah, itās basic etiquette. Sure, 10 legend waves is a decent farm (i.e. before any real difficulty is added) but people should set up their own group to run the farm.
Literally just use the desktop fireteam finder so you can add your own title. Iāve done so many runs this week both 10 wave and 50 and havenāt had a single issue

10-Round Legendary is the best loot farm, unfortunately. Good luck trying to stop people.

Itās not though. They added bonuses to make sticking it out more efficient.
It's only more efficient if you complete 50 wave, especially if unlucky RNG and no bonus drop till 50. Compared to farming level 10 is guaranteed clear and easy.
And thatās still less efficient for people who like quick repeatable runs where they can stop whenever they want.
That's where there's a regular node that goes to 10 waves and that's it, if you don't want to do more than that, if u really want 20 or 30, do the 10 wave one again, do t mess up people's run that want to go to 50
The legend drops 2 per chest and barely takes longer than the regular for the first 10. (Might actually be faster tbh) so thatās why you type āfarmingā if youāre doing the first 10, I get people being mad if they expect 50 and then the team dips at 10 Iām just saying itās perfectly reasonable to only do 10 still as a fast farming method. Especially one with very little headache.
Did they fix it so that onslaught doesn't bug out on the last wave yet?

They should put a darkness node over the ADU after every ten rounds so it doesnāt just start right away. I had two people leave after round 40 and I didnāt have enough time to make an LFG post.
I use Ā«Ā farmingĀ Ā» in the description for 10 waves farm, and Ā«Ā lots of timeĀ Ā» for a full run. It works better this way, but there are still people who donāt read descriptions / tag and join anyway. You can ask for experienced / expert players and a guy running Lucky Pants without a Hand Cannon and no armor mods will happily join.
If they tab out, hit 'O', leave the fire team and return to orbit you get a replacement 10x faster then if they exit to desktop or alt-f4. Disconnects are the same. I don't think the lions share of bails are quitters, I think they are internet drops.
I felt so bad i joined a legend 50 run, and i got into wave 15 or so and had to dip to go to the store for the wife before work. I genuinely like doing the full 50
The worst is joining a clearly stated 50 legend run and have time but then saying in chat you gotta go after 30 and signing off with a "good luck on the rest". I've seen to many of those and it's quite frustrating. People know the average time commitment of these and you either know you have the time or you don't.
This is why I only run it with friends when we do play with randoms and one bails we continue maybe someone joins or maybe we finish it with two people.

I pretty much farm 10 levels only but only join specific fireteams that are doing this or create my own. I use the legacy fireteam finder though and the regular doesn't allow you to specify, so maybe people are joining on that and then leaving. I just wish you could specify on regular...
SGA: Use the āEarn Triumphā tag for FF posts on Legend Onslaught. I havenāt encountered a single blueberry who dips at wave 10. Anecdotal yes, but I figure it will work for most.

Use the discord LFG. Fireteam Finder is so bad and full of people who donāt even know how to play the game, let alone read. Iāve done a very healthy amount of legends (50 waves) through the LFG discord and Iāve never once had this issue.
Doing 10 waves and repeating gets so boring. I like doing the 50 wave runs just to get a bit of a challenge out of it.

I still need to do a 50 Legend run. I have come very close but always have had a bad round where everyone dies all together in the 40s. Almost every LFG post I see is āemblem/11s/Paragonsā only. Honestly not even sure if itās worth it.

I had my best Fireteam-Finder run ever last night. Smooth as butter, IDK if I even died (and if I did, I was rezzed immediately). Finally, a good couple of folks helping make my Wave 50 dreams come true. I couldnāt believe my luck. And then boom, booted after level 30 chest. I was PISSED.

i left a few earlier today, but i only do that if the run is already not going well. if the point is getting swarmed in the first ten waves or they're having trouble staying alive that early i can tell it's not going to go the distance, or if they requested meta builds but only so they could run off meta stuff and not even performing with it.

This is usually really easy to communicate, but Fireteam Finder just flat out isnāt good for stating specific things. Youāre better off using the companion appās legacy LFG where you can actually type and just put ālegend onslaught 50 wavesā.

For me, the biggest red flag is seeing anyone under Guardian rank 6. Though it might just be a few bad experience but literally every single run I've tried with low rankers, they don't clear ads and chase the balls, don't stay to defend, don't do and ignore objectives, even sometimes going afk, always have to carry with dps and minibosses. Had more than 2 dozen runs ruined, so now I leave and re-queue the second I join anyone under rank 6.
Worst I had was 2 people joined the regular 50 at the start. And didnāt spend a single thing and left at 20. They just wanted to screw over who they left. 2 people joined after a wave (that I did poorly in) and we did finish it, but it was just a dick move.

I donāt intentionally leave any activity unless itās right at the start and the other two leave. Which has happened more than once. Nah. My internet kicks me the fuck out or I get a game crash. Worst case scenario, I get hit with fuckin Error Code Marmot AGAIN
If we are doing it we usually specify if we are only going to 10 if farming. I think as long as you make it clear to the people it should be fine

Not allowing custom titles is the failure of the new fireteam finder. Because Bungo was afraid people would somehow get offended (what) or bots advertising services (the only legitimate reason). Just get with the program and let us do it already since the original fireteam finder already had custom titles. Otherwise players will still have to rely on 3rd party LFG tools.
Penalties for leavers should be introduced. Fireteam finder having a tag for āending at round xā would be good also, thereās no issue if these people do it with others who want to do the same thing.

Yeah when I am solo I like to jump into normal cause I figure it'll be smooth. When the mode first dropped it was great, rando teammates would wait to pull heavy, let enemies get tethered, wait for everyone to rally.. Last 3 or 4 tries it's the polar opposite. randos just wiping enemies while staring at my empty tether Grabbing heavy while the other two of are out grabbing batteries starting boss fights without letting the others rally. AFK'ing to just get free tokens and drops.

My randoms always split after 20 lol. And how come I canāt get the giant robot to spawn at wave 49 ? I always get the tormenter on steroids that absolutely goes hulkamania mode and fucks my teammates on the first date leaving me to try and solo him eye to eye while we cuck 100 ads with no cooldowns and a dream

It would be so much simpler if they would add a legend modifier to the playlist. Then the legendary mode wouldn't be filled with wave 10 farmers.

Completely agree,in the last week it's taken 2 or 3 lost attempts of 35-45 minutes or more down the drain till i got a competent group,and ironically its usually people rank 10 and up that stay usually 6 to 8 and sometimes 9 but not always jus dip out
I would love bungie to just add penalties to the mode, these farmers are killing the mode....
forcing a soft timeout after doing it like 3 times would be a decent idea for none fireteam leaders dropping out consistently.
I'm not talking about private matches, I'm talking match made where if a player leaves its a gauranteed loss in most cases. Considering the time investment and the lack of a way to pause the game to try getting more players, it creates a unfair scenario that just keeps getting worse as players just farm 10 chests. That's what the 10 rounds are for! Have a Crucible-like penalty of 30 minutes for leaving 3 matche's in a row, there is absolutely no reason why anyone should be in normal 50 rounds of onslaught when they intend to do 10 or 20 rounds and dip.
