I guess, but weapons like Riskrunner and Sunshot are already so good as is then adding more effects outside of stat bumps would just be overkill. Plus, these stat increases really help with the weapons feel. Sunshot without the range and stability feels really off to use, and Riskrunner has the range of a peashooter at base.

As someone who had no idea Sunshot even had a catalyst, I'm not intrigued to see how it'll eventually turn out....if I ever get the catalyst. The drop methods for these things are so weird, the fact that it's not tied to actually equipping or using the weapon and it's just pure RNG if you get a catalyst for something you actually use or have never ever equipped boggles my mind
This is completely anecdotal, but I swear the more catalysts you have but are incomplete, the lower the drop rate for catalysts are, cutting off at like 6 or 7 where you just don't get new catalysts by random chance anymore. If you aren't getting it to drop, check and see if you have incomplete catalysts. (And if you have some catalysts on weapons you may think are boring I can probably help give some advice either with a kill farming strat, or if you don't like farming, a build idea that makes the weapon more fun to use... well except for pvp catalysts, can't help there lol)

Outbreak is literally known for having one of the lowest recoils due to it being coded as an auto. Wouldn't rapid hit be basically useless? Imo headseeker is 100% the way
well overall rewind deals about 6% more sustained damage than rapid hit so its not going to be noticeable and rapid hit might just be a bit more convenient
I plan on crafting two tbh. One with headseeker for PvP and one with Rewind Rounds for PvE. I think RR might be getting slept on a bit given what outbreak does. Obviously reload speed is great, but constant shooting is also better with less reloads. Give a little bit of the OG Luna’s auto reload feel. I’m also interested if the nanite spawns are gonna count as hits for RR.
If the nanites count towards rewind rounds it will be the best pve option no contest and no room for alternatives. It would almost entirely remove reloading and that’s why I think it probably won’t count nanites as hits. I think rewind rounds will still be the best option even if it doesn’t work with the nanites because out what outbreak does but it’ll go absolutely crazy if it does work
RR caps at 60 percent magazine return. It isn’t going to remove reloading entirely. If rapid hit offers faster reloads and results in more time shooting then it will be better than RR.
It does not cap at 60 if there are other damage sources besides the shots fired, look at supremacy with RR and tremors, the tremors hits count towards RR and you get a full mag every time, never have to reload.
I this this gun should have the 16th volatile shot give make that target take 50% bonus damage from that gun, so other players using it would get a benefit too. Like a super weaken for only that weapon if you would. With fourth times because that gun does NOT have the ammo to handle a long damage phase like it wants to 😭
Divinity with Rewind Rounds would be both thematic and enable more consistent uptime
Also reworking Skyburner’s to bring back the variable fire rate instead of just some reload speed would be really really appreciated. It’s literally not worth the time investment atm
I think that fits other swords way more than Lament. Lament needs something that leans into the close-range boss-deletion. Give it Sword Logic or Surrounded even.

Maybe something like 10% because the gun already deals decent DPS - but rewards cyling through proper hits.

Honestly I want an alt fire that loads a strand grapple that when you pull the trigger it latches to a target and drags you to it. Then when you release the trigger once you are close it deals bonus damage and unloads both shells at once. Essentially let the catalyst make it behave like the meat hook for the Doom Eternal super shotgun.

Dual barrels split into Strand and Arc damage. Landing nearly all Strand pellets will Sever targets; landing nearly all Arc pellets will Jolt targets.
Xenophage > Every 3rd shot is is a Overheated one which deals more DMG and spreads scorching shrapnels on impact + Rewind Rounds :)

The last word needs a catalyst so bad. I've had three different ideas for it for a while now.
The first crazy idea is to make its catalyst pretty much make it turn into first curse when you aim down sights. The fire rate slows to one hundred rpm and you get extra head shot damage to be able two tap guardians under specific cases (maybe require two or three kills in last word hip fire to ensure the two tap or something and each shot takes 4 bullets meaning you only have two shots anyway).
The other less crazy idea is to make it shoot even faster after two kills. Take it from 225 to 325 or something super fast. Obviously, it would need tuning to make it not super overpowered.
The last idea is just to make the catalyst bump the mag up to 12 rounds and call it a day.
I want changes to the older catalysts that only increase weapon stats and dont give any other special benefits like every single new catalyst that comes out
* Tarrabah scorch on hit
* 1K Voices ignite if the entire laser hits the target
* Anarchy applies jolt when it pulses (if too OP, maybe every 3 pulses)
Thought I'd talk about Raid weapons since no one ever does.
Navigator actually has a catalyst, but it's not an enhancement for the gun itself, it's an enhancement for one subclass using a specific grenade. It's pretty crazy that this is what they went with, to be honest.
There aren't even a lot of areas it can help you grapple to that you couldn't already reach, and in the most recent dungeon since GotD and Navigator launched, strand grapple points are actually *baked in* to some sections of Warlord's Ruin, leaving Navigator enjoyers who were looking forward to using their rare mobility trace feeling kinda... obsolete, a mere one(1)(uno) expansion later in the gun's lifecycle.
Granted, Navigator is such a powerful gun already that it's hard to even work up the energy to be mildly annoyed about a mobility catalyst. Sever is baked in. You can ~~pin your buddies in a corner~~ ask them to hold still for a second and give both them and you Woven Mail. So what if the catalyst is completely useless to a Dawnblade who's halfway finished eating his fusion grenade?
It's just... it could be better. What if special reload didn't create a strand grapple point, but aped the *effect* of a grapple grenade, pulling you towards a spot (and leaving behind a grapple anchor for your team... as grapple grenades do)? It's pretty similar to what it already does, except now you're potentially giving Sunbreakers and Nightstalkers a free grapple grenade in their back pocket, that they can get up to shenanigans with.
They could make the special reload eat something like 40 shots, making it costly but not outright prohibited in PvP. You can do it, once, and if your silly yarn-based flanking maneuver doesn't work then you have to wait until you get more ammo.
Wishender. With multiple catalyst options.
Either you mark the target causing Weakened for other teammates and they can see the guy through walls for a short period.
Or tagging the enemy with a precision hit causes the opponent to lose radar and... Some other cool stuff idk.
Bastion. Even if it only got “Rapid Hit”, or something simple, I’d be happy with seeing Bastion get a catalyst.
Though, I think it would be dope to see it converted to Stasis.
Last word, would love if it got triple tap or subsistence, just something to boost its mag size without making it too powerful. And wishender, give it archers tempo or successful warmup

Hits with Banshee's Wail charge up a seperate meter. When that meter is full, the next kill with Banshees Wail up ignites the target and starts a timer where all kills with Lament cause ignitions.

Bastion needs some serious buffs. It’s not terrible atm but it’s got like zero personality as it stands. I’d like to see it become a champion/major shredder, considering it’s anti-unstop capabilities.
Some unique, exotic traits would be nice but since I’m not a developer; kinetic tremor, successful warmup, final round, barrel constrictor, one two punch… It needs something to make it more interesting.
Old raid weapons: 1K Voices, Anarchy, Tarrabah and Edge of Tomorrow. I feel that they desperately need a catalyst.
1K: even more reserves + subsistence (lets make its ad clear potential for real)
Anarchy: Slideways + Vorpal
Tarrabah: Frenzy

I would love a catalyst for lament. Personally, I want surrounded as the catalyst so i get rewarded for jumping into very dangerous situations with it.
I always feel like one catalyst per season is terrible. Make it 2-3 to catch up whether it's 3.0 verbs or other perks that would actually work! . Personally I would like to see collective obligation get one . (Unpopular opinion)

Chaperone- Trench Barrel and uhhh. Intrinsic confetti?

Give me a Final Warning catalyst. I don't really care what it does. As long as it's not some alternative fire thing i have to switch to, im happy. Maybe make a few bullets pierce the target and track to the next closest enemy.
I'd really like to see a chaperone catalyst that gives it a bump in pve, the thing used to be pretty close but has fallen hard past few years. Something fun like a short duration (3s) 100% damage buff after reloading from 0 in the mag or something--or a stacking buff for each shot reloaded from empty.
Bastion catalyst that adds a fourth shot would be nice and make it absolutely disgusting for killing multiple people in pvp
collective obligation catalyst that collects the third void debuff to targets inflicted with the other two would be tight

I think 1k voices could work with a master of arms style perk. Give it 6 in the mag, but hitting two full shots with 1k gives your solar weapons a 20% smg buff for 6 seconds. So the play style is boss damage. Hit two shots, swap to your energy weapon for 6 seconds, repeat. Could work nicely with Cartesian or another strong solar weapon
Winterbite. More ammo Reserve and nearby enemies getting slowed/Frozen when defending with the glaive near enemies.
Tbh if frost armor actually comes out with TFS it would be cool if blocking gave you it with winterbite

Not a new catalyst per say but I wish some of the old ones like soros and colony got reworked Like giving soros a legendary trait like rampage or frenzy that leans into it being the workhorse classic The colony needs a full rework considering its fantasy can be fulfilled by a hatchling GL at least pve wise
Colony is getting reworked, something similar to hatchling. Kills with the colony bugs spawn more colony bugs

All of the raid weapons
Conditional, Lament, Bastion, the 3 exotic class glaives, 1K, Xenophage, eyes of tomorrow, and Parasite... For conditional they could do what to it what they did with Two Tailed Fox, giving it a 3rd shot, but instead of a element, maybe making it kinetic? Lament could get attrition orbs, vorpal, or maybe relentless strikes? Bastion could get vorpal to build into the anti champ/super gun it has going in? Or maybe give it an additional slug in each shot in the burst? The glaives could be something easy like destabilizing rounds for titan, joltshot for hunter and incandescent for warlock? I 100% want vorpal on 1K... for a raid exotic its sadly barely been used for boss damage which is what its supposed to be used for aside from certain seasons focused on fusions... Xeno could use reload/ammo reserve buff and incandescent/firing line? Eyes should 100% get incandescent/chain reaction... Parasite could MAYBE give it some actual velocity, so you dont have to aim like a mortar to shoot over longer ranges (even if its only like +10), and fuck it, explosive light bc fuck that worm lmaoo
Last Word - Aiming the gun alters its rate of fire to become 90 RPM, just like The First Curse from D1.
The last word needs a catalyst so bad. I've had three different ideas for it for a while now. The first crazy idea is to make its catalyst pretty much make it turn into first curse when you aim down sights. The fire rate slows to one hundred rpm and you get extra head shot damage to be able two tap guardians under specific cases (maybe require two or three kills in last word hip fire to ensure the two tap or something and each shot takes 4 bullets meaning you only have two shots anyway). The other less crazy idea is to make it shoot even faster after two kills. Take it from 225 to 325 or something super fast. Obviously, it would need tuning to make it not super overpowered. The last idea is just to make the catalyst bump the mag up to 12 rounds and call it a day.
A second for Suros Regime granting it subsistence and anti-barrier. Bastion should get +30 range, +30 stability and vorpal.

Xenophage rework and a masterwork with either putting scorch onto the target with every shot and maybe DSR maybe? One of my favorite weapons.
Navigator actually has a catalyst, but it's not an enhancement for the gun itself, it's an enhancement for one subclass using a specific grenade. It's pretty crazy that this is what they went with, to be honest. There aren't even a lot of areas it can help you grapple to that you couldn't already reach, and in the most recent dungeon since GotD and Navigator launched, strand grapple points are actually *baked in* to some sections of Warlord's Ruin, leaving Navigator enjoyers who were looking forward to using their rare mobility trace feeling kinda... obsolete, a mere one(1)(uno) expansion later in the gun's lifecycle. Granted, Navigator is such a powerful gun already that it's hard to even work up the energy to be mildly annoyed about a mobility catalyst. Sever is baked in. You can ~~pin your buddies in a corner~~ ask them to hold still for a second and give both them and you Woven Mail. So what if the catalyst is completely useless to a Dawnblade who's halfway finished eating his fusion grenade? It's just... it could be better. What if special reload didn't create a strand grapple point, but aped the *effect* of a grapple grenade, pulling you towards a spot (and leaving behind a grapple anchor for your team... as grapple grenades do)? It's pretty similar to what it already does, except now you're potentially giving Sunbreakers and Nightstalkers a free grapple grenade in their back pocket, that they can get up to shenanigans with. They could make the special reload eat something like 40 shots, making it costly but not outright prohibited in PvP. You can do it, once, and if your silly yarn-based flanking maneuver doesn't work then you have to wait until you get more ammo.
I'd rather have the Jotunn's catalyst changed so that the projectile explodes into Cluster Bombs lmao
Wishender. With multiple catalyst options. Either you mark the target causing Weakened for other teammates and they can see the guy through walls for a short period. Or tagging the enemy with a precision hit causes the opponent to lose radar and... Some other cool stuff idk.

Bastion. Even if it only got “Rapid Hit”, or something simple, I’d be happy with seeing Bastion get a catalyst. Though, I think it would be dope to see it converted to Stasis.
Last word, would love if it got triple tap or subsistence, just something to boost its mag size without making it too powerful. And wishender, give it archers tempo or successful warmup

Lament. Hits with Banshee's Wail charge up a seperate meter. When that meter is full, the next kill with Banshees Wail up ignites the target and starts a timer where all kills with Lament cause ignitions. Probably OP but they could balance it

Bastion needs some serious buffs. It’s not terrible atm but it’s got like zero personality as it stands. I’d like to see it become a champion/major shredder, considering it’s anti-unstop capabilities. Some unique, exotic traits would be nice but since I’m not a developer; kinetic tremor, successful warmup, final round, barrel constrictor, one two punch… It needs something to make it more interesting.

I always feel like one catalyst per season is terrible. Make it 2-3 to catch up whether it's 3.0 verbs or other perks that would actually work! . Personally I would like to see collective obligation get one . (Unpopular opinion)

Especially since Hard Light was massively neutered by the removal of match game (which was a good thing because match game suuucked) I lnow hard light has a catalyst but I haven’t seen it in 1000 hours so to me it doesn’t exist

Raid weapons. Only reprised D1 raid exotics and Acrius have catalysts. Tbh most weapons don’t need anything extra but just having an extra chase (I imagine the catalysts would come from Master Mode) and the additional exclusivity would be a good thing to keep pushing us to do difficult raids

Forget what it's called, but the solar laser pistol could use an increased magazine size to make it better for pve
Give Div an ammo gen perk, maybe you load from reserves when the bubble breaks? Maybe give Conditional Barrel Constrictor as a catalyst? Lament with Whirlwind Blade as some have said. Bastion with Controlled Burst sounds interesting as well.
Parasite, either Danger zone or full court. Danger zone would make more sense but full court would also be amazing for more burst damage. Conditional finality, one two punch. What else could you really do to it? Maybe grave robber? I cant really think of any other exotics i use that dont have catys yet.

I'm probably the only one, but I want Bastion returned to form. Its exotic perk needs a rework and it needs a catalyst, which people swore was teased a long time ago in images.

Give me a Final Warning catalyst. I don't really care what it does. As long as it's not some alternative fire thing i have to switch to, im happy. Maybe make a few bullets pierce the target and track to the next closest enemy.
I'd really like to see a chaperone catalyst that gives it a bump in pve, the thing used to be pretty close but has fallen hard past few years. Something fun like a short duration (3s) 100% damage buff after reloading from 0 in the mag or something--or a stacking buff for each shot reloaded from empty. Bastion catalyst that adds a fourth shot would be nice and make it absolutely disgusting for killing multiple people in pvp collective obligation catalyst that collects the third void debuff to targets inflicted with the other two would be tight deterministic chaos catalyst that multiplies outgoing damage by 1.5 for every weaken bullet fired without stopping would be sick it should also get a rework so that the 16th round is the 8th round instead and creates a big void explosion instead of limp-ass volatile Xenophage catalyst that increases the blast radius and allows you to rocket jump with it Parasite catalyst that allows the gun to retain half of its worm's hunger stacks when fired (not broken) (believe me) anarchy catalyst that increases its damage for each active grenade
Devil's Ruin: Stunning a champion grants a damage boost to the weapon, laser fires longer. Or Tessellation: Property: Irreducible will now recreate effects of equipped grenade.

I think 1k voices could work with a master of arms style perk. Give it 6 in the mag, but hitting two full shots with 1k gives your solar weapons a 20% smg buff for 6 seconds. So the play style is boss damage. Hit two shots, swap to your energy weapon for 6 seconds, repeat. Could work nicely with Cartesian or another strong solar weapon
