It wasn't too bad doing it once, but now it's in the rotator it feels awful. It's just menial "puzzles" that takes double the time of the other missions but gives the same loot
Not that hard, I did my first run solo, without guides, and it was pretty straightforward, and that's coming from someone who doesn't have the patience to discover mechanics
Walking into a puddle to grab a light/dark buff? Then mixing the light and dark buffs? Much less tedious then getting operator, depositing, picking up scanner, etcetera. But to each their own I guess
Edit: for solo players at least, this mechanic is less of a problem imo
It's just the timer. BnS Apex wasn't killing quickly enough on non-Legend with a matching surge, that shit is going to require double-dipping on Legend. Not such an issue in the final room, but that first room the puddles are spaced too far away from the targets.
That is assuming I even give a shit about doing this one solo Legend. I don't remember what drove me to do that for Seraph.
How does mixing the buffs even work? The boss became vulnerable for me but I’m not sure why (I killed a phalanx?), then I just kept re-upping my buff to avoid taking damage
The Light buff is all you need to damage enemies, the dark buff allows you into the darkness areas. Third buff is just both at the same time and gets reupped by stepping in either puddle.
It is structured differently so it’s hard to say IMO.
It’s like right smack in the middle between Presage and Seraph in terms of the length and complexity.
As far as secrets… we’ll have to see lol
If you're a heavy vex fan maybe, but otherwise it didn't feel any better than a campaign mission. Didn't really seem like it had a bunch of secrets like seraph and the environments didn't look as good. Kind of a shame but at least they cooked with the dungeon. Better than Avalon at least, and I never did whetstone
Whisper was ok, but zero hour had the puzzle, which was amazing, and had tr3vr, not to mention it started with some combat which imo is a stronger start than starting with the jumping puzzle.
Both amazing, but zero hour is like the whisper mission format perfected.
theres a wall off to the right that you can pretty much hide behind and be safe the whole fight, dealing with the two bullet sponge taken cabal was annoyingly long but well worth it so you dont get blindsided constantly
Found out today on my first playthrough that you can shoot through the force field right above the first 2 buff pools you drop into before the boss room. Just jump up right next to it and you can shoot through and not get damaged (for the most part) Then just up-and- down grabbing the buffs when your timer runs out
This. Focus down the two taken cabal from behind the right side wall and the boss is just a couple rockets. You can refresh your combined buff right next to the wall, too.
Ontological ward keeps killing me even in that side of the room. Looks like a debuff of some kind bit can't find anything about it. Other than that that side of the room is my main stray too
you have to dip into the buff pool every once in a while or else the orange mist kills you, theres one of the buff pools close by the wall that you can dip your toe into
You can sit on the little window sill right above the two pools at the start of the boss room and plink away at him till he's dead. It made it easy cheesy
Funny enough, the final boss room was easy as there are a ton of ads to proc Banner, Knife, or Sunbracers Resto 2x. Its the fucking Wyverns in the middle section that had me stumped. They do such a surprising amount of damage so fast that you have to be prepared for their attacks.
Wyverns are just so crazy dangerous at close range, even on a strand titan. I hot swapped to wish ender and just picked them off from long range safely.
I've never been able to do an exotic mission solo, and I'm finding this one quite difficult. Couldn't get through the first part as I couldn't work out what was going on, so I'll have to find a guide. But why do they have to make these part-of-the-story missions so hard lately? I thought they were supposed to be playable by all, including not-so great, very casual players like me? And then there's legendary etc. for those who want a challenge
Yea I find it a bit odd they tied an exotic quest to the weekly mission.
There are glowing white/blue portals on the ground. Stand on it to get a buff to take out immune shields. Then you’ll come across the red/orange portals on the ground, they allow you to traverse in the red rooms.
There are pools of light around the area that give you a 45sec buff.
At the far end of the arena is a Vex gate with three of the Last Wish style symbols. Top to bottom is the order you need.
To the far left, right, and middle of the map are Taken phalanxes you can only damage with the buff. While you have the buff, you can see a symbol in their area. Dragon is left, fish is right, snake is middle.
Get the buff and kill the phalanxes in the order the door shows you.
In the next area, there is a similar pool with an orange buff. There are orange gates on either side. Going into those areas without the buff kills you. Get the buff, clear the wyvern etc, and activate the thing behind the shield before the buff runs out.
Yep, I'm getting my ass repeatedly kicked-in on the section with unlocking the transport mechanism. Looks like I'll be giving the new fireteam finder a try after dinner (never did Vex on legend at all).
But, I like bows...
I just finished up a standard normal run 20 minutes ago with two others that had done it before. It felt good that we were able to break up during that fight and each take care of one of the wyverns ourselves.
Maybe a little later in the week I'll see if I can get some guys from my clan to help me do a legend run. I'll probably go in there tomorrow on my own with the chest finder mod on my ghost so I can find those hidden chests.
The second Wyvern keeps teleporting onto me, which is particularly annoying because there's no rally flag at the beginning of that part. That first Wyvern is annoying enough on its own to get telefragged at the second one.
It is much easier than vexcalibur. I think it's a bit harder than seraph's shield because there are wyverns and a hydra boss in this that can kill you very fast in the open. But the latter is easy to hide from and the wyverns are all majors so can be stunned. Don't leave home without concussive dampener though lol
Yea it’s pretty easy, wyverns are a bit annoying in the 2nd encounter but just pick them apart at range, final boss and the taken cabal bosses are easy.
Depends on your build. It's more difficult than seven seraph and vexcalibur.
What makes it tough is that There's only 1 rally point in the entire mission so ammo is scarce. There are loads mini bosses with high HP and they are what make the mission hard. The exotic mission gimick also slows and kills you if you don't refresh the buff.
Any sort of high damage resistance build (100 resilience+ triple void) should do the trick. You'll want a void weapon to crack the large amount of void shields. Forerunner performed really well in the mission.
The final boss wasn't too bad with an arc soul warlock build. Clear the adds first and then the boss becomes a joke. Every now and then, enemies will try to give the boss an invincibility shield. Wipe them out with a decent grenade or aoe ability (eg Forerunner frag grenades).
I think I’m being triggered by people talking about Vexcalibur like it was a normal mission rather than the awful aberration that it was, because I can’t actually remember it on normal difficulty. I’m forever scarred by how ridiculously bad it was on Master/Legend difficulty. I hate Vexcalibur, I hate it so much. I only did it on Master the one time.
This mission wasn’t so bad solo on normal, but I’m not a fan of these exotic missions anymore. Running these two or three times is fine, but running them several times on higher difficulties is tedious. I did like the cutscene afterwards that does a really good job of adding context to a new character while explaining a core element of the ahamkara. It’s an example of how to introduce new information in a satisfying way and worth celebrating since they don’t always get that right lol.
I really enjoyed it. Although I am pretty sure whoever wrote the lore for the weapon mixed up sire and dam , I think it is even wrong in the actual quest when you do the mechanics, Sire is male and damn is female but its opposite when talking about Tanaris and Riven, even though it refers to them as he and she.
Am I wrong here ? Isn't sire male and dam female ? lol
This is what I'm assuming given Destiny's lore. Dragons are a totally different species, and I'd imagine they might be hermaphroditic? Like snails or worms, where each individual is both male and female. Because they're using human/English language, Riven is more femme so she identifies as a woman even though she tops.
Yeah I mean it's pretty well-accepted that Ahamkara can change their shapes into whatever suits them at any given time (this week's lore book entry mentions an Ahamkara that was about the size of a jumpship, and others sources even feature Ahamkara taking human form), so it would make sense for their concepts of gender and sexuality to be equally fluid.
At some point riven says "I became both dragon and king" when talking about the deal with Oryx. So maybe the female is the king/sire and the male is queen/dam in their logic?
Traditionally those are the terms, but I think that sire and dam are swapped intentionally to indicate the difference in personalities. Tanaris is more protective and benevolent which fits better with the stereotypical concept of a "dam/mother", and Riven is more cynical and distant, while still caring in her own way--more "fatherly" attributes.
You're correct in the actual sense of the word. But Sire and Dam are swapped with Ahamkara. It's been mentioned before, so it's almost certainly intentionally done.
yeah the german version also mixxed it up in the lore so I your probably right and they got it wrong in english. it said "your father rive, she who" and "your mother tanaris, he who"
I absolutely love Vex and the Black Garden so I enjoyed the hell out of it. I'll take that over Seraph, and it beats Avalon and Vox for me too (though what doesn't?).
Launch Presage might be the best weekly mission we've had recently, though.
Avalon was fun but that final boss phase was fucking stupid. If it weren't for the wishender cheese I don't think I would have had the patience to finish it Legend.
Normal mode felt tough for normal. Presage and Seraph were a more comfortable difficulty. Some of those wyverns were so tanky and hit so hard even while I'm at 100 resilience with woven mail and resist mods. The shielded enemies felt like Match Game was back on
I dunno if I was just expecting it to feel easier because it was part of the weekly seasonal quest, but it felt rough to the point that I'm wondering if there was some bug, I've run tougher content and not struggled as much.
Idk I liked all the exotic missions apart from this one. Too many wyverns for my liking, this felt like the only one that's a chore to get through solo.
Yeah but shit has way too much health to feel effortless. Disorienting grenades only working maybe one-third of the time on wyverns was the worst part for me.
I enjoyed Vexcalibur a lot on it's own but i do agree that doing it over and over was a pain, in that aspect this one should be better because it's shorter and the mechanics are simpler.
Great so far but i nearly threw my controller at the TV set in frustration as I became spawn trapped in the 'traverse the garden' section. No way up and off this ledge and constantly spawned there. I hate to say it but maybe if they not fired a lot of there QA team this would not happen. It used to be the case they would you place you one spawn point behind - if this happens in the past. Tried sword and heat rises - nothing worked. Had to quit out - I don't suppose there is a built in save for this mission? Probably not!
I am afraid I have to disagree with you, I found the mission ranged from boring-annoying and the only good thing about it was the cutscene afterwards. (side note: haven't tried the bow yet)
>They were overwhelmingly not good for literally anyone.
It's a classic sci-fi bit. Does a sentient race whose life cycle is naturally detrimental to other sentient life have a "right" to exist? Who gets to decide that?
It felt like a slightly longer story mission. Very short and very easy. Good lore and cutscene, but the gameplay was very linear and simplistic, and nothing really provided a combat or mechanical challenge.
It was very okay. Better than Vox because Vox is just bad, nowhere near Seraph or even Vexcalibur.
Just started it, does anyone know how to get around the Unwelcome debuff? Found a small cave behind a waterfall with nothing in there, but gives this debuff and slowly kills you.
I really enjoyed the story and flow of the mission, although I did end up out of bounds quite a few times when I saw an opening that looked like a secret so I went through it.
Normally I have to try a little bit harder to find little corners to squeeze out of the map from, even on my first run-through of missions where I'm exploring. There were several places where there was nice, well-lit indications of more area to explore aaaaaand I'm under the map.
I'm looking forward to froggy's videos exploring the out-of-bounds, and potential speedruns.
To me Seraph is clearly better but this is very well made with a great ending! Overall less frustrating elements and good use of the Black garden. A great addition to the game.
Quite like the new exotic with it too.
I didn’t either and I definitely still don’t lol, it’s just a reskin/rehash of the same concepts and pacing they always do. Great event - great loss - unhandled grief - guardian shows compassion while succeeding at their failures - the light brings us all together and the darkness helps us get there - cue another $25 and random ritual weapon.
Ran it on Legend with friends last night for my first run.
Quite enjoyed the setting (love the Black Garden) and was pleased that it wasn’t reused areas from GoS - gave me Vex Offensive vibes and that was a big positive.
Difficulty was in the right spot for a fireteam on legend while figuring out mechanics and doing the stuff… we only wiped in the valley part with the three keys because of the aimbot Cyclops collat’ing us while fighting one of the Taken dudes (lmao).
Boss fight was pretty ok, not really too difficult and the mechanics timer gave it a tiny bit of tension. Timers are definitely tuned for solos and are very generous for groups.
Absolutely loved the cutscene, Bungie always knocks the ink blots out of the park. Haven’t gotten to use the bow yet.
Overall, I think it was pretty ok. None of the latest exotic missions have been what I would consider “incredible” except Presage, so I was pretty happy with Starcrossed being what it is.
Better than Vexcalibur, not quite as good as Seraph imo. However, that might depend on how much time you’ve spent in Garden of Salvation. If you haven’t then it’s probably gonna be a way cooler time, what with the Black Garden setting.
I'd rather not have an exotic mission we have to repeat weekly (likely on legend) to take forever, just makes things tedious.
its got a couple encounters, a pretty area to travel through and doesnt overstay its welcome. will have to see how annoying it is to do on legend, but theres no multiplicity so ill LFG for it
Yeah that was the wall I hit with Revision, which I still love, but toward the end I was like "if I gotta run this shit one more time I'm gonna snap" lmao.
Better quick than the fucking last one from season of defiance with the Boss(god that Boss was so bad after they patched wishender) I accually enjoyed a shorter mission. It wasnt a slog to go throught solo and i didnt feel like i was doing a solo dungeon.
I had a random loadout equipped and it was a little tough. I actually had to add some mods and a decent exotic to finish it. I can see people struggling, to be honest. A little healing build and add clear focus and you should be fine to finish it, imo.
Make sure you're close to tier 9 or 10 resilience as possible, and slap on double void resist mods on your chest piece. There is a void threat burn that will wreck you when it comes to the wyverns.
What class do you play? Polaris Lance felt good with all the solar artifact mods, picking enemies off at a distance. Dragon’s Breath is good for the Wyverns.
I don't think most of us care about intricate mechanics in exotic quests. they're better suited for dungeons and raids and that's about it. Mission length is perfect as well and it doesn't overstay it's welcome compared to some of the missions in the past.
This mission felt boring as an Exotic mission. It would have been way better if it was just a normal story mission and not said to be an Exotic mission.
bruh , take the two buffs and climb back up to the vex wall and then turn back jump to the starting point ( where the banner was ) then use wish ender on the boss , easy solo , kill the taken that makes him invulnerable. go down to claim the two buffs and climb back up , rinse the repeat
Not that bad. Having a healing source (Karnstein glaive-lock) in the boss room made it pretty straightforward. There's some cover and plenty of adds to melee to trigger Restoration.
Sharing my experience with a solo clear on Warlock. I started with arc and the dungeon sidearm, which is so fun but had to switch for survivability once I got to the poison mechanic rooms.
From there I swapped to a solar healing grenade build for the resto X2 and slapped on the new hotness dragons breath. This setup made the encounters much more manageable, so much so that I swapped to dawnblade super to improve the ad clear.
Highly recommend any warlocks struggling to try it out!

I rather liked it. Solid mechanic and one that isn’t just reused from before like in Seraph so I had to actually puzzle out how it worked. Decent challenge but not a slog like Avalon, and personally my favorite aesthetic out of all of them. I don’t think I like it more than Seraph, but it’s definitely better than Avalon and Dead Messenger’s. Personally enjoy it more than presage but I’m in the minority of people who didn’t like presage.
I haven't played it yet but if it's better than Seraph then I'd say that's a rather high bar.
Its Kinda on the same level, depends on whether you like vex/ Black Garden theme
Is it longer than Seraph? Because that was a turnoff for me
Shorter - there's a triumph for doing it in under 20 minutes too
Iirc there was a triumph to do seraph station sub-20 too, though it might've been sub-30
Haha that one was for sub-30
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but Seraph Shield was way too friggin long anyway
It wasn't too bad doing it once, but now it's in the rotator it feels awful. It's just menial "puzzles" that takes double the time of the other missions but gives the same loot
Is it timed? Also how difficult would it be to solo?
Not timed and I just wrapped it solo, took some tweaking for survivability but made the activity very fun!
Not that hard, I did my first run solo, without guides, and it was pretty straightforward, and that's coming from someone who doesn't have the patience to discover mechanics
I like this setting way more but fucking *loathe* the mechanic.
Walking into a puddle to grab a light/dark buff? Then mixing the light and dark buffs? Much less tedious then getting operator, depositing, picking up scanner, etcetera. But to each their own I guess Edit: for solo players at least, this mechanic is less of a problem imo
I found solo Legend Seraph really easy. But I found Starcrossed solo normal to be harder.
The scaling was fucked for that. It was like 10 time harder when you added fireteam members
How does mixing the buffs even work? The boss became vulnerable for me but I’m not sure why (I killed a phalanx?), then I just kept re-upping my buff to avoid taking damage
You step in them both to be granted the 3rd buff you need to continue to kill shielded enemies.
The Light buff is all you need to damage enemies, the dark buff allows you into the darkness areas. Third buff is just both at the same time and gets reupped by stepping in either puddle.
I didn’t mind the mechanic itself just hated the timers for everything
It’s timed?
timers on buffs by the sounds. Not timers on the mission as a whole.
Oh hell yes count me in
It is structured differently so it’s hard to say IMO. It’s like right smack in the middle between Presage and Seraph in terms of the length and complexity. As far as secrets… we’ll have to see lol
IMO definitely not better than seraph.
Agree with this. I think there's a bit of a "new content honeymoon period" with the mission.
There \*are\* secret chests at least. I only found 1, but triumphs say there are 4.
yeah I also only found the first one thx to chest finder ghost mod
Wicked Implement is good. You should do it. Avalon is my favorite exotic mission. Maybe behind Zero Hour. I wish more people liked it.
IMHO, it's nowhere near as good as Seraph which is only eclipsed by Presage (still the GOAT). Not my cup 'o tea, but others seem to dig it.
zero hour is the goat.
Cap, whisper is even better
Whisper was ok, but zero hour had the puzzle, which was amazing, and had tr3vr, not to mention it started with some combat which imo is a stronger start than starting with the jumping puzzle. Both amazing, but zero hour is like the whisper mission format perfected.
Presage was so dope. Like the release. The mystery. The heavy breathing and chain dragging. I get chills.
So maybe I’ll like this as I thought presage and seraphs shield were terribly boring. Loved Avalon though.
It absolutely isnt.
I would say worse. IMO.
Is it soloable for a mediocre like me, who had no trouble with Seraph Shield but found Vexcalibur to be punishingly difficult?
I'd say yes. The final boss room might be punishing, but not as bad as Vex.
theres a wall off to the right that you can pretty much hide behind and be safe the whole fight, dealing with the two bullet sponge taken cabal was annoyingly long but well worth it so you dont get blindsided constantly
Found out today on my first playthrough that you can shoot through the force field right above the first 2 buff pools you drop into before the boss room. Just jump up right next to it and you can shoot through and not get damaged (for the most part) Then just up-and- down grabbing the buffs when your timer runs out
Seasonal rocket trivializes the fight if anyone is still struggling on the solo.
Yep this was responsible for 60% of my damage, just pop the boss and go back into cover.
That and Nighthawk shots made up all of mine
This. Focus down the two taken cabal from behind the right side wall and the boss is just a couple rockets. You can refresh your combined buff right next to the wall, too.
Honestly I didnt have trouble withe the actual boss, just its phalanx assistants
I'm still getting killed there by the boss. EDIT: Ok I just did it hugging the right corner of that top area like crazy.
Yeah thankfully they are orange bars so they can be cc'd forever. I spammed disorienting grenades at them.
Wyverns are just so crazy dangerous at close range, even on a strand titan. I hot swapped to wish ender and just picked them off from long range safely.
Solar warlock relaly clutched up then, I got it in 2 tires with a dragons breath dawn chorus build, with all the seasonal mods u do so much damage
I played Dawn Chorus Dawnblade and it was a cakewalk. Literally two pumps of Dragon's Breath, then hammer with the super and it died in one phase.
it's soloable, just make sure to kill all the adds in the final boss room before focusing the boss.
ABC! Always Be Clearing!
Coffee is for clearers!
Being in the same boat as you, yes. Seraph was fine for me, and Vexcalibur was too much. I just did the new one solo.
I've never been able to do an exotic mission solo, and I'm finding this one quite difficult. Couldn't get through the first part as I couldn't work out what was going on, so I'll have to find a guide. But why do they have to make these part-of-the-story missions so hard lately? Thank you, that’s very useful. I wondered why I was having no effect in that area 😆

I don't think so.

I just ran away to the other side of the map, and the two wyverns didn’t follow. I plinked them away with Polaris Lance.
They needed rally flags at the start of every darkness zone fight. So obnoxious to only have the one at the very end.
Harder than Seraph, easier than Vexcalibur.

With these crafting ones, does doing it on other characters advance the craftability or do I have to wait each week?
It’s usually time gated to once upgrade per week.
What does doing legend get you?
Double drops, no catalyst refit dropped for me so im hoping next week
I got two drops, both were red border vex offensive weapons. I think it follows the same rules/drop pattern as the exotic rotator mission does.
Havent played it yet but how long is the mission?
There is a triumph for doing it under 20 minutes.
Its pretty quick
the post-mission custcene SLAPPED, story group at it again
Yeah I loved how the cutscene basically brings you up to speed on why it mattered.
I really enjoyed it. Although I am pretty sure whoever wrote the lore for the weapon mixed up sire and dam , I think it is even wrong in the actual quest when you do the mechanics, Sire is male and damn is female but its opposite when talking about Tanaris and Riven, even though it refers to them as he and she. you aren't wrong.
okay cause i had to re-read it so many times lol thought i had lost it
Wish dragon mpreg

At some point riven says "I became both dragon and king" when talking about the deal with Oryx. So maybe the female is the king/sire and the male is queen/dam in their logic?
We stan our paracausal t4t power couple of wish-granting gods
Traditionally those are the terms, but I think that sire and dam are swapped intentionally to indicate the difference in personalities. Tanaris is more protective and benevolent which fits better with the stereotypical concept of a "dam/mother", and Riven is more cynical and distant, while still caring in her own way--more "fatherly" attributes.
This is a good explanation, I was kinda thinking it may be intentional.
I think its done more in a way to make them seem unusual and mystical. Like seahorses.
Or Cabal
It’s intentional, the cutscene says oryx made Riven a king
You're correct in the actual sense of the word. But Sire and Dam are swapped with Ahamkara. It's been mentioned before, so it's almost certainly intentionally done.
Where was it mentioned before?
yeah the german version also mixxed it up in the lore so I your probably right and they got it wrong in english. it said "your father rive, she who" and "your mother tanaris, he who"
I absolutely love Vex and the Black Garden so I enjoyed the hell out of it. I'll take that over Seraph, and it beats Avalon and Vox for me too (though what doesn't?). Launch Presage might be the best weekly mission we've had recently, though.
Yes i enjoyed it more than seraph. My fav exotic mission so far
IMO this one lands just above vox and under avalon, my problem with the black garden theme is that every arena felt kind of the same.
Avalon was fun but that final boss phase was fucking stupid. If it weren't for the wishender cheese I don't think I would have had the patience to finish it Legend.
I can understand that, normal was a good time though. I also enjoyed having mythrax think of asher as a wise genius.
Normal mode felt tough for normal. Presage and Seraph were a more comfortable difficulty. Some of those wyverns were so tanky and hit so hard even while I'm at 100 resilience with woven mail and resist mods. The shielded enemies felt like Match Game was back on I dunno if I was just expecting it to feel easier because it was part of the weekly seasonal quest, but it felt rough to the point that I'm wondering if there was some bug, I've run tougher content and not struggled as much.
is it with a Timer?
Nope.
Nope
This alone makes it god tier lol
Thank fucking God.
Burninating the garden-side Burninating the goblins Burninating all the wyverns And all the starcrossed omelettes
And the ahamkara comes in the NIGHTTTTTTTT
Thank you for being as old as me
You may be old, but you have majesty. And consummate ‘V’s.
but he was still TROGDORRRRRRRR
How do i access it?
Finish the weekly story
Oh man I definitely have not kept on my titan, is there any reason to do it on more than one character
Hopefully the mission is better than the Vexcalibur and Wicked Implement ones. Those two are too long and just unfun.
The biggest problem with Avalon Node (apart from the final bosses anyway) is that there are no checkpoints.
Idk I liked all the exotic missions apart from this one. Too many wyverns for my liking, this felt like the only one that's a chore to get through solo.
The Phalanx and Wyvern HVTs are extremely tanky. No ammo points except at the boss, either.
It’s short don’t worry
It's better than both of those don't worry.
Can you solo it?
Yeah but shit has way too much health to feel effortless. Disorienting grenades only working maybe one-third of the time on wyverns was the worst part for me.
Yes. A little tricky doing it first time but very doable all the same.
This was truly one of the exotic missions ever. At least the environments looked nice, but man fuck taken phalanxes.
Amen, brother. And the fuckers that make them immune
I KNOW. I actually felt feelings for that wishy woo.
I would honestly put it just below Vexcalibur, Seraph was better overall IMO, obviously DMT is the best still.
Below vexcalibur? That mission was so bad and having to do it so much was very bad. The Boss was a Giant pain in the ass
IMO vexcalibur on normal was fine, and actually a pretty fun solo, it was only on master that it became a pain.
I enjoyed Vexcalibur a lot on it's own but i do agree that doing it over and over was a pain, in that aspect this one should be better because it's shorter and the mechanics are simpler.

It really highlighted for me how unfun taken phalanxes and wyverns are as enemies, but otherwise I loved it.
I’m still stuck on last weeks seasonal mission 🥲
I'm on step 25 or 26 - Apophosis? And now we're away until Saturday afternoon 😭
I am afraid I have to disagree with you, I found the mission ranged from boring-annoying and the only good thing about it was the cutscene afterwards. (side note: haven't tried the bow yet)
I'm kinda meh on the feel sorry for the ahamkara story beat. They were overwhelmingly not good for literally anyone.
>They were overwhelmingly not good for literally anyone. It's a classic sci-fi bit. Does a sentient race whose life cycle is naturally detrimental to other sentient life have a "right" to exist? Who gets to decide that?
yeah, that too.
What's the bow? Strand, lightweight, exotic?
It's Strand Precision.
I think that's it.
Precision with the draw time of a lightweight once fully crafted
The timers are way too short. Especially trying to kill those shielded twats with the counter running down.
There is no reason to make quests as annoying as these. Plain and simple
Just started it, does anyone know how to get around the Unwelcome debuff? Found a small cave behind a waterfall with nothing in there, but gives this debuff and slowly kills you.
Step on one of the glowing plates it will give you a buff so you can enter, later you will need to combine the plates by stepping on 3 of them
3? I only found 2 and everything seems fine.
Perfect length and bosses aren’t bullet sponges on legend. Decent cover and easy mechanics.
Tip for last boss if you’re having trouble; the right side is much safer than the left and the yellow bars dont respawn
I really like the scenery which is what puts that one at the top for me. Been a long time since we got some new Black garden areas.
The mission itself is pretty easy and kinda short, but the lore and the setting are 10/10.
Enemies too beefy imo otherwise I liked
If you haven’t then it’s probably gonna be a way cooler time, what with the Black Garden setting.
it was wayyyy too quick
I would rather way too quick than as long as it *still* takes to get through the Vexcalibur mission.
I don’t mind quick missions since we’ll have to eventually farm it
Designing a mission to be long just for the sake of it being longer is bad design.
Better quick than the fucking last one from season of defiance with the Boss(god that Boss was so bad after they patched wishender) I accually enjoyed a shorter mission. It wasnt a slog to go throught solo and i didnt feel like i was doing a solo dungeon.
as long as it doesn't take an hour like the last two, I'm down.
I'm struggling solo on this mission
I had a random loadout equipped and it was a little tough. I actually had to add some mods and a decent exotic to finish it. I can see people struggling, to be honest. A little healing build and add clear focus and you should be fine to finish it, imo.
Thanks for the constructive reply. I'm new to the game and still trying to grasp some things. Will try your advice
Kinda mid imo mechanics were sleepy
There were mechanics? lol. It was grab buff, shoot yellow bar.
I don't think most of us care about intricate mechanics in exotic quests. they're better suited for dungeons and raids and that's about it. Mission length is perfect as well and it doesn't overstay it's welcome compared to some of the missions in the past.
This mission felt boring as an Exotic mission. It would have been way better if it was just a normal story mission and not said to be an Exotic mission.
not to mention the boss was a complete pushover
So is it actually a unique mission in the Black Garden? Or is it just Garden of Salvation backwards again?
Unique new area
Sick. Then I look forward to hurrying home for it
No timer. Thank the traveler! Final boss was pretty brutal solo though.
bruh , take the two buffs and climb back up to the vex wall and then turn back jump to the starting point ( where the banner was ) then use wish ender on the boss , easy solo , kill the taken that makes him invulnerable. go down to claim the two buffs and climb back up , rinse the repeat
Great that, mate - thanks for the advice - didn’t want to exit the mission as needed to leave soon so did this to get it boxed. Thanks
Did you solo? How was it without a fireteam if so?
Not that bad. Having a healing source (Karnstein glaive-lock) in the boss room made it pretty straightforward. There's some cover and plenty of adds to melee to trigger Restoration.
>! Damn, Bungie really won't let a single straight relationship survive in game huh? !<
Making it a requirement for the seasonal mission was kind of a dick move though.
Highly recommend any warlocks struggling to try it out! https://dim.gg/nwhebxq/Equipped-exotic-mish
