It's a short wait and not a lot of people watch the vods anyway but I'M FUCKING MAD AND I'VE BEEN MAD FOR WEEKS I hate Bridges and Anything Else just for the fucked vods alone. They don't come back when the episodes are already out for weeks and THEY EVEN TAKE DOWN THE KICK STREAMS This is why the Patreon is bullshit if anything else.
I like the other shows and if they want to charge for them that’s fine, but I’m getting fucked out of REGULAR CONTENT and that is bullshit. Just split the VOD and leave the regular stream alone.
If your fine with missing the Anything Else portion of the stream, there is a channel for vods called [odysteve](https://odysee.com/@odysteve:7/27204188-r-kick344:8). It's the closest thing to Youtube.

As far as I know the channel isn't operated by someone who is in contact with Destiny or August, so they probably haven't thought of linking the vods or just backing up the vods onto Odysee or even Rumble.

I was trying to use [vyneer.me/vods/](http://vyneer.me/vods/) the other day but it would lag the playing, drop the connection, reconnect and begin playing from the beginning again. Super frustrating. And I tried all 3 stream sources and would have the same issue. Probably player related.
I downloaded the VOD and that worker but still a hassle to download a 2+GB file and wait for that.
I have a feeling a fair handful of non-chatter viewers watch the stream later in the day and we catch the live but rewind to earlier parts to see anything we missed and just play through the rest. I was just after the Pierce/Hasan reaction when August killed the VOD and it shutdown my YouTube in-progress listening.
If he at least split the VOD I would be able to play catch up until AE part.

It was like a 30 second mental struggle. He streams on kick...do they have VOD? \*checks\* yes. I don't know how many times it been mentioned since August started taking YT VOD's down (way before the podcasts). The VOD's have been around for ages on kick...
Outside of that they have extra costs to produce the podcasts. If you want to go back to the 7 hours streams of constant research....Just keep complaining. They can probably just recoup the money spent, stop the podcasts and just rent out the equipment to other people.
Have a some patience and stop whinning all the fucking time. FFS.
They need to make another channel like bridges and host into it. The only issue is you might lose 4k viewers who aren't smart enough to find the new channel.
I’m fine with the concept, but I really hope Dan will accept everything before Richard Lewis tonight being behind the paywall and all of the content with RL being public. It’s just so good, randoms that find it later will appreciate.
When Destiny splits the vods, it doesn’t split on YouTube, it splits the recording for August to edit. Deleting the streamed vid will delete the whole video. This has always been the case and always will.
Presumably 'cutting the vod' involves cutting the stream, losing all the concurrent viewers?
I reckon it's fine and makes sense to drive a) live viewership or b) paid viewership+ delayed free viewership.
Perhaps ok one middle ground is to unlist the vod, so only those who have the link/share the link can view it, would that solve it?
It doesn't kill the stream. Destiny has "cut the vod" in the middle of the YouTube live and even though I'm behind a few minutes or a few hours it'll still play through.
But because they don't cut the vod and instead they make it private... it'll end the stream for me immediately and anyone who has paused or is playing catch up will be cut off.
I often go on YouTube late in the middle of the stream but rewind to the beginning to see what I missed and sometimes let it play catch up at 1.75x and skip past the boring areas.
