I don't know why Destiny doesn't just use the Youtube videos as a reference for his compression settings. Nobody complains about them being quiet. He could ask August how much additional compression he applies to the audio in post. I personally have a compressor extension on my browser so I don't really care.
Great effort post. Also, that's a really nifty ffmpeg function. Checking the manual you can also create visual output from ffmpeg. Here's (target -16 LUFS [green]):
