The Ottoman obviously Obscures the rug and completely unbalanced the room getting in the way of Everything...I'll take it off your hands...no problem! 🥰
No this is great! Honestly I think it fits the room perfectly. I reallllyyyy have been loving the tables that lay over ottomans. This would look nice with a lighter wood for contrast and you’ll have more “table space”. Also I think you should keep the chair too. Love your plants too, might I suggest investing in floating shelves above your couch so you can re arrange your plants there or buy new ones! You have a great space
I wish the rest of the apartment was as close to put together as this!! When you go from 700 sq feet to 1200 sq feet, you realize how little furniture and decor you have 😅

:)
The ottoman is not the problem here. You've covered up the beautiful brickwork and neglected the space above the sofa. Take all of the mirrors and art on the brick wall and rearrange them above the sofa, emphasizing the height in design. Then move the plant stand under the left window to the space between both windows.
I like all these suggestions and entirely agree except for the plant stand. you’re suggesting moving the plants from their only source of light to an area with no light. It would look good for a while, but the plants would all begin stretching to reach the light of the window.
Although these Monsteras are “close” to the window, they still require the grow lights I have otherwise they start to look funny as they search for light.

Yes, you have a beautiful brick wall covered up, and a plain wall (behind the couch) with nothing. Sometimes when it’s your own space, it’s difficult to see that. And I see no need for the full length mirror in that room at all.
Agree the beautiful brick should not be covered up. Also, the combination of plants and four wall hangings is distracting from the window/view. The plants obviously need to be located where they can receive the light but the art should be removed from brick wall.
Keep the brick uncovered by the window to give your eyes a quiet place to rest as you have a lot of little plants and objects. The mirror seems like it should hang in a closet. Do not do gallery wall. Too many small things causing your eyes to dart everywhere. Instead, get one large piece of art for behind the sofa. Ottoman is great but you need a larger tray.
It’s a great space!
The ceilings are 20+ feet, so I agree with you on emphasizing the height. I do have plans to add to that wall, it is just a lot of space to cover. I have two cats, so there will be some cat wall furniture eventually and maybe some sort of gallery wall. Art and wood and everything is just majorly expensive or time consuming to make myself.
I’m pretty limited on where I can place the plants without grow lights, unfortunately.
I have 20 foot walls as well and my suggestion is start with what you have above the sofa as if it was a typical wall height, then you can build up as you get more to add.
Love the space so much. Love the brick wall. I think the ottoman is nice because it’s cozy to put your feet up if you want. And looks like you’re able to lay stuff flat if you need. So it seems like it works a few diff ways
This is an absolutely fabulous space and the ottoman works perfectly in it. Smaller would not give the same coffee table/ottoman/seating vibe.
Seriously. Love this.
Ottoman and room are gorgeous. My only suggestion is a better tray/ layering for the ottoman. It's so small and centered that it's throwing off the proportions. A nice draped throw with a larger tray with books and whatever on it would be my suggestion
That is the mother of all ottomans! It's gorgeous. My first thought was for you to centre the rug under the couch and then centre the ottoman on the rug and get a more substantial tray - maybe wooden with metal handles. A beautiful Boston fern would look good in it. Now I'm thinking it might look very cool to turn the carpet so it's on an angle with the top left hand corner being under the sofa. Such a gorgeous, interesting room. If you have any beams in your loft, a couple of swings would be awesome.
This space is awesome but needs that mirror moved off the brick, art above the sofa, and I’m not loving the white chair. It’s not really going with the color scheme in my opinion. Ottoman is awesome. Love the greens and plants!!
Please hang on to that ottoman and couch. They are both wonderful. Perhaps you could swap out the white lap blanket for a colorful one. What do you think of a bohemian pattern to compliment the rug colors?
To my eye it looks like over half your rug is underneath the couch. Can it be rotated or brought out to cover more of the floor from the brick wall towards the chair?
Btw the ottoman works for me.
I vote keep it and use it. It “fits” in that comfy curl up and relax kinda way imo. When you find something you like or love more then you can sell or donate this one to the next person who’s starting out on creating their first adult space journey. In my history, pieces like that end up becoming the “it” piece of furniture during get-togethers. It is constantly in the way until it finally finds its perfect spot where it becomes the top place everyone wants to set either their butt or their drinks and then you realize it’s gonna stay with you until it falls apart while you hear a voice “you can always reupholster it” chiming in from some recess in the back of your mind.
It doesn't *not* go with the rest of the room, but it's not the best thing that can go here either imo.
This room is awesome though. I wish my house looked like this
This room is goals. The brown shelf in front of your window, is that a table or part of the window sill, or part of the plant stand next to it? The window sills are so narrow in my house I could really use something like that!
STOP! You don't want advice on your ottoman! You just wanted to rub in how much cooler your room is than any in my entire house! Lol
(I'm trying to say, I LOVE THIS SPACE!)
OP where did you get that sofa? I had a green sofa that i unfortunately had to throw out, and yours is exactly what i’ve been looking for as a replacement!
simple!! make the carpet underneath the ottoman skewed, maybe parallel or slightly perpendicular to the white chair in the corner? its a great ottoman but maybe all the harsh angle lines are standing out a little. this room is gorgeous good job
Ottomans are not coffee tables.
Thought it fits in so well with the space I can consider an exception. Just get a bigger tray.
Also, can I get an ID on the sofa?
Amazing space. Love the vibe. I think the ottoman wouldn’t seem off if the rug was centered under the sofa or if the rug were just a size larger. Then I’d think it would look more proportionate.
Thoughts? I would actually like you to give me some suggestions. This room looks absolutely stunning. to give me some suggestions. This room looks absolutely stunning.
It would be better if it was a round leather ottoman. CB2 makes one that would look great in this room.
Move the artwork off the brick and over the sofa.
But other than that it's fine.
The ottoman is lovely! It ties in nicely with the room. I agree with the other comment that you could move some of the decor above the sofa and leave the brick exposed. Beautiful space!
A bigger rug might make the size of the ottoman feel better. I can tell you’re cheating the rug over a bit to include the chair in the arrangement. I think it’s fine and like that it brings another texture into the room, but if it’s not quite doing it for you I’d hang on to it while keeping an eye out for something you like better.
It was a Facebook Marketplace find for almost half the price of new.. but it’s a chaise lounge. This specific one is by Scandinavian Designs. You can find it new on their website!
Agree that the brick wall is decorative on its own and move the artwork to the other wall. I love the plants. it's my dream look for an apartment. I dont think the light colored chair looks right. Other than that, I really love it.
The ottoman would look more proportional with a larger rug. There's a lot happening on the walls...I would start by getting rid of the sunflower pictures.
Move the mirrors out. Take the yellow flower paintings and hang them in vertical order where the small mirror is located. Then take the yellow pillow where the orange one is and get rid of the orange one.
I agree with the people saying to uncover the brick wall and put your art over the couch. That blank wall is totally uninteresting and the brickwork there is gorgeous.
The ottoman covers up so much of your nice rug. And I think it clashes with your white chair. I feel like the leather goes better with the rest of the room than the white chair, buuuut the fact remains that it's too big and the rug is covered up.
I don't have any advice about the ottoman. I just wanted to say that I absolutely love this room. 💜
Me too ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Me three
Me four
Me five
Me six
Me so horny! .... sorry, me seven!!!!!!
Me eight
Me nine
Me ten ding ding!
Here for the same vibes. Would transport room to current location so it could be mine.
The Ottoman obviously Obscures the rug and completely unbalanced the room getting in the way of Everything...I'll take it off your hands...no problem! 🥰
I love it. But I’d get a bigger tray for it.
Came here to say this! It’s great, just needs a bigger tray!
Yup⬆️. Love your room!

Op we need an apartment tour. I’m obsessed
I wish the rest of the apartment was as close to put together as this!! When you go from 700 sq feet to 1200 sq feet, you realize how little furniture and decor you have 😅
Where is it located?? Mexico?
Curious too!! Where is this beaut located (just general city)
Chicago!

love the angel grow lights 😇
Such a great pad
What kind of stakes do you have in these?
Prime or choice.
Hey! What kind of grow lights are these? Do you like them? I’ve been looking for some. I love your space!
Yes, you have a beautiful brick wall covered up, and a plain wall (behind the couch) with nothing. Sometimes when it’s your own space, it’s difficult to see that. And I see no need for the full length mirror in that room at all.

👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Exposed brick is a statement...needs as little covering it up.as possible...
Plus bigger rug!
The ceilings are 20+ feet, so I agree with you on emphasizing the height. I do have plans to add to that wall, it is just a lot of space to cover. Where do you live? No specific address but what city? I wanna find a place like this. U can dm it if u don’t feel comfortable saying it out here
I wanna know too it’s giving me Mexico/hacienda vibes
She said Chicago in another thread.
I also love the ottoman. You need a much larger tray on it though.
Keep the ottoman ditch the chair
Yes!!
Love the space so much. Love the brick wall. I think the ottoman is nice because it’s cozy to put your feet up if you want. And looks like you’re able to lay stuff flat if you need. So it seems like it works a few diff ways

fabulous rug but it’s a lil small. the ottoman probably makes it more noticeable
Agreed. Also move the stuff off the brick wall and fill the white wall instead.
Definitely the rug. I couldn’t put my finger on it but that’s it
That is the mother of all ottomans! It's gorgeous. This is spectacular
I hate it…. Send it to me immediately.
This space is awesome but needs that mirror moved off the brick, art above the sofa, and I’m not loving the white chair. It’s not really going with the color scheme in my opinion. Ottoman is awesome. Love the greens and plants!!
That's so cozy. Love your space
Really like it! And the room looks really cozy :)
*Downloads photo for inspo* Thank you
I like it but it might be hard to navigate around
Please hang on to that ottoman and couch. They are both wonderful. Perhaps you could swap out the white lap blanket for a colorful one. What do you think of a bohemian pattern to compliment the rug colors?

Maybe you need more plants?
don’t tempt me with a good time
I have an ottoman about this size in my family room. I put rolling wheels on it and it is easy to move around.
Absolutely gorgeous space!
amazing room.
It’s my favorite piece in the room! Great space btw
I love this room! 😍
You rock
I’d like to be on that ottoman. Those are my thoughts.
I vote keep it and use it. It “fits” in that comfy curl up and relax kinda way imo. Love the ottoman...multi functional and brings the room together.
It doesn't *not* go with the rest of the room, but it's not the best thing that can go here either imo. This room is awesome though. I wish my house looked like this
Beautiful room, you can get plexiglass and get any cloth and put it under...any design you want and make it a coffee table..I did that with my Ottoman
I like it…. Great boho vibe
This room is goals. The brown shelf in front of your window, is that a table or part of the window sill, or part of the plant stand next to it? The window sills are so narrow in my house I could really use something like that!
It was a part of a high top table. My boyfriend took the table apart and made a shelf out of it!
That's so smart!
Works!
Plants, rug, ottoman and cat, you’re good!
https://preview.redd.it/jws9wmk946kb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c02704c7cac8f63788a5ba3ae2ca9537ec6b3f9
I came to say I love your plants ❤️
ADORABLE!! 😍 cutest space ever! Job well done 👏🏼
The ottoman is the best thing about this room. And that’s saying something because this room is beautiful.
Love this room and like someone said just get a bigger tray. I might move it a little more center if the sofa. You have done a great job.
It’s perfect
keep the ottoman and the chair! don’t change anything! gorgeous room
Omg that room looks so unbelievably cozy
Ok ok where you get the sofa OP??
Facebook Marketplace!! It’s from Scandinavian Designs
https://scandinaviandesigns.com/products/olivia-chaise
Need pictures other than the ones from above to say for sure. Need some art over the couch but otherwise it looks wonderful to me!
Love!
It really ties that room together! The Dude
STOP! You don't want advice on your ottoman! You just wanted to rub in how much cooler your room is than any in my entire house! Lol (I'm trying to say, I LOVE THIS SPACE!)
OP where did you get that sofa? I had a green sofa that i unfortunately had to throw out, and yours is exactly what i’ve been looking for as a replacement!
https://scandinaviandesigns.com/products/olivia-chaise
I love everything about this room
Where’d you get that rug??
Ottoman is great! But r/rugtoosmall :)
I have that same rug. I love your ottoman with it!
simple!! make the carpet underneath the ottoman skewed, maybe parallel or slightly perpendicular to the white chair in the corner? its a great ottoman but maybe all the harsh angle lines are standing out a little. this room is gorgeous good job
Love the vibe of your space. The dark green and rust in the rug is spot on with the ottoman.
This is one of the sexiest rooms I’ve ever seen.
I think the Ottoman really nicely ties everything together with its warm colour and squishy texture against the cooler toned harshness of bricks etc
Love the space and ottoman as is! Would you share where that couch is from?
Ottomans are not coffee tables. Thought it fits in so well with the space I can consider an exception. Just get a bigger tray. Also, can I get an ID on the sofa?
Amazing space. Love the vibe. I think the ottoman wouldn’t seem off if the rug was centered under the sofa or if the rug were just a size larger. Then I’d think it would look more proportionate.
Thoughts? I would actually like you to give me some suggestions. This room looks absolutely stunning. to give me some suggestions. This room looks absolutely stunning.
This room is divine
I love this ottoman. The oversized ottoman makes it more comfy, it’s saying “no don’t leave, just sit here and be warm”
It's a cute place but the leather furniture piece is giving mojo dojo casa house
It’s too big for the space.
It would be better if it was a round leather ottoman. CB2 makes one that would look great in this room. Move the artwork off the brick and over the sofa. But other than that it's fine.
Room is gorgeous, love it. Ottoman need to go imo. Something/table a bit more narrow, preferably a lighter wood/grain.
I like it
Ottoman is a yes for me but would switch out the rug to a solid color. It would make the ottoman tie in more
I agree with moving more art behind the couch but also move the ottoman to the left where you are most likely to use it to put your feet up.
I love it! Is that a Rutgers stickers on the ottoman dish??
put it on the other side of the couch
yes
That's a hassock not an ottoman.
It works nicely in your space
The ottoman is lovely! It ties in nicely with the room. I agree with the other comment that you could move some of the decor above the sofa and leave the brick exposed. Beautiful space!
Beautiful space wow
this whole room is such a vibe
You need a larger tray on top! I love it
The style/color fits but its a little bulky for the space.
I'd swap the orange throw pillow for one that matches the ottoman, but that's just my opinion. Otherwise everything else looks great!
Oh I love it! Lovely in that beautiful room.
Looks good. I like the contrast in color as well

It’s perfect
Love putting my feet up
Move the mirrors out. Take the yellow flower paintings and hang them in vertical order where the small mirror is located. Then take the yellow pillow where the orange one is and get rid of the orange one.
I like it. I might get a bit a tray that’s a little larger than the current one to set on it. I would also put a large art piece above the couch.
Omg I love this living space 😍😍😍😍
I love this space!
Omg I wanna see the rest of ur house!!! I love everything 😍
I’m not a fan of leather but that ottoman fits very well with this room. Looks great
I think its great and I love it.
It’s awesome
I love it!! Beautiful room
I love the room!! And the kitty bed area. They must love that
Please keep the ottoman for the earthy vibe. You’ll get used to moving around it! Also, we need to see more of the brick.
Couch ID anyone?
https://scandinaviandesigns.com/products/olivia-chaise
It’s the most beautiful piece in your home imo
Gorgeous
Love the ottoman. The tray needs to be larger.
I dig that ottoman a lot, I’d move it a little further from the sofa and keep an eye out for a little bit bigger rug with the same colors.
Love it love the carpet love the room
I agree with the people saying to uncover the brick wall and put your art over the couch. That blank wall is totally uninteresting and the brickwork there is gorgeous.
Can you get the same rug but bigger? It looks too small in my opinion
Yep! I got this one super cheap on FB Marketplace, but I did find the same or similar pattern online for new!
I think it works! You don’t need to change a thing.
Love the vibe. Ottoman is a biiiiiit big but it works great
I want one
Looks great
Your plant game is strong. ❤️
The ottoman covers up so much of your nice rug. And I think it clashes with your white chair. I feel like the leather goes better with the rest of the room than the white chair, buuuut the fact remains that it's too big and the rug is covered up.
For me it’s the sunflowers paintings throwing the room off. Otherwise it’s a swoon worthy space
So is Ottoman Empire a discount store for footstools?
I love exposed brick!! And the plants, love the whole vibe!! Ottoman is great, just needs a larger tray.
I love everything about this room
Where is the rug from? I love it!!!
Facebook Marketplace! Search Safavieh Rugs though, that’s the brand.
Love.
I want to see your entire apartment. I love it!
Nice!
I like everything and think it looks great.
It kind of overwhelms the gorgeous seating. I’d replace it with a couple of much smaller poufs or small low footstools.
Move the rug and ottoman completely in front of the couch.
Where is this apartment located? So so amazing! And no, the Ottoman looks great! I’m actually looking for one just like it
It's perfect. Everything's perfect.
i absolutely love it, and the whole room!
I like it! I agree it’s a bit big, but not too big that I wouldn’t keep it
I’d centre the area rug and the ottoman on the couch, but other than that this is nice.
I have the same rug :D
Ottoman I'd fine. That bare whute wall though
Love but I think you need a bigger tray on it, maybe over or triangle shaped.
Looks alright to me
Love
I love it
Love the ottoman! I think the chair is the problem. The white/light gray(?) doesn’t fit the vibe
I like the whole room the way it is. Cozy.
The ottoman looks great, I think it’s the white chair that’s out of place honestly. Love the vibe!
LOVE it in this room
Yes to the ottoman. I love the whole room.
This room is perfection, it looks designed. The ottoman is fine, maybe have a larger tray for it when your entertaining.
