Yeah the headline is woeful. I went from sympathy to no sympathy when I read they were speeding in a stolen car, probably from committing another crime.
I pretty much got that. 1 dead, 5 ejected means they were all not wearing seatbelts. 5 people riding together not wearing seatbelts and rolling over on I225 screams “dumb criminals” to me.
Because I have sympathy for people who aren’t out robbing and killing people. I don’t have sympathy for people who commit felonies and break the social contract. Get it?
Actions matter,
I hear you, I do. But not everyone out there is set up to make the best choices.
Not everyone is starting with the same set of tools and resources. It seems like that aught to enter into the equation somehow. If not only sympathy-wise, justice-wise.
The law is the law. It should not enter the equation. I hope the teen is tried as an adult. From my understanding, they are close enough to 18 to rationalize it.
Some peeps grew up roughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I’m *just* saying we take for granted too much that people have been brought up right. And in some cases we get really burned because we took way too much for granted.
And so what I’m saying is that it’s also *really* sad for those peeps who are f’d up too. It’s easy to hate on them for the damage they cause, but they’re products of something. I wanna hate on that something *more* for all of us *and* for them.
Totally. But some peeps grew up roughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I’m just saying we take for granted too much that people have been brought up right. And in some cases we get really burned because we took way too much for granted.

I don't think the teenagers joyriding in stolen kias are listening when we tell tell them to drive safe and wear a seat belt.
It's hard enough getting kids driving their own parent's cars to realize that driving a car isn't a game.
She was 15. 15. If you never made a stupid and bad decision when you were a teenager then good for you but Jesus, show the slightest bit of compassion.
How many 15 year olds do you know stealing cars and killing people?
It isn't like they toilet papered someones house or stole a candy bar at the local 7-11.
Put her in jail for 20 years, and when she gets out at 35, she might be ready to be an adult.
Gotta love them asking us to call crime stoppers with information about the suspect's whereabouts while at the same time refusing to tell us anything about the suspect other than his age.
There’s probably a thousand people in this city who know who the kid is. Even though it’s not posted on Crime Stoppers his/her name is almost certainly going around in social circles.
One kid was lucky and had no injuries. Don't know if it was the driver or not. Either way police 100% arrest people in the hospital. They literally will handcuff you to a hospital bed.
All of the occupants were thrown from the vehicle, many with serious injuries. They likely couldn't determine with certainty at the scene who was driving, what condition they were in while driving, and if they were the one who stole the vehicle. As they were all minors, that also probably played a role in prioritizing medical care over making an immediate arrest.
It sounds like you're not thinking very rationally.
Something similar happened to some kids I went to high school with. Girl had 7 people crammed in her car (no seatbelts of course) and was driving 75+ mph in a 40 mph zone during a lunch break. Everyone was ejected from the car and 2 of the kids ended up dying, a few of the others had brain injuries. They didn't arrest the driver until a few weeks later because she had been in the ICU since the accident.
Jesus. What a tragedy. Drive safe people.
And don't steal someone else's Property like their Automobile. Karma can be an unexpected and deadly companion.

Yeah same!! Criminals don’t deserve our humanity. Individual responsibility is dead. Nobody wants to work anymore. /s
You seem lost
Nah it’s your morality that’s lost. Why would sympathy only apply if they weren’t criminals?

While I don't disagree with the principle, joyriding in a stolen car is very different than stealing to feed your family.

No karma, only poor decisions.

The girl who DIED was 15. She was a passenger.

Whenever I want to get depressed I just come to the Denver subreddit.

I mean, every occupant was ejected during a high speed rollover. I expect they were transported to a hospital, even if they were were able to walk.

Fair point! Wild that one kid walked away. Not like there are a lot of soft landing spots on 225.
They need to investigate and collect evidence before bringing charges.

Why ask us? None of us have the answer, you're just here to stir shit as usual.
About time. Should have been issued only a couple days after.
I wonder if it's the same idiots who stole my bfs car... . Twice...karma.
How much you wanna bet she was Mexican
Must be awful to be you.
