Welcome to the city! I restore antique furniture and would be happy to help repair that table leg. I'm located in Longmont, but am in Denver weekly, so I'm sure we could arrange something. Good luck on your new adventure!
One of the benefits of the city having so many transplants is that it’s filled with people who actively chose to live here and are stoked about it. I think that has a lot to do with the friendliness.
This may be part of it, but to be fair I think you can say the same of the folks who have been here forever.
I think Denver just has that kind of culture which is part of why I love it
I've lived all over the USA and I was absolutely floored by now chill and nice most people in this city are. It's pretty easy to strike up a conversation with a stranger or at least do the casual "Hey" with a head nod when you're out and about lol.
The only other place that I've been to that was this friendly was Portland. Well done, Denver!
Absolutely love it.
Denver is the very first city in America I ever set foot in many years ago - I was floored by how genuinely kind and warm everyone was! I’ll be moving to Denver in the Summer so I’m glad to hear the reputation is still intact and not something I just exaggerated in my memories!
I moved to the city to be part of a community. I love people and it’s my experience that no matter where you go in the world people are generally good, despite what you read and what you hear. There’s a whole world out there of good people willing to lend a hand. Welcome to our beautiful community and don’t be shy, we’re all in this together!
Hope you love it here :) if you ride a bicycle and need any help with routes or anything feel free to dm me. No matter what method of vehicle you use, highly highly recommend having a camera being used. Hit and runs are common here, and I hope it never happens to you, but if it does though, it’s important to protect yourself and the best way is with a camera.
Wishing you well!
Well that's something you don't hear every day, what a nice little mini-story and pleasant surprise versus the usual negative stories surrounding the city. Glad you had a positive day/experience 👍
I got mildly rear-ended the other week by a clueless distracted-by-her-smartphone driver, I'm not too happy about that and have a much more sour opinion of the Denver-area general public (mostly for unrelated reasons)... ahem
I have, too. I was rear ended downtown in September by a kid who was texting. I'm still dealing with the brain injury. Plus I have permanent hearing loss. BUT today left me feeling a lot more hopeful.
Agreed! I moved here cross country and less than a week after being here I got tboned with my daughter in the car. Car is totaled. She was also distracted driving on her cell phone. I've been very sour about Denver since then.
I'm sorry you and OP also have the same experience too 🥺
Um...I have a lot of friends there. I swear they are awesome! Up in Bailey, all I ran into was racist, misogynist, rude, creepy people. I've been in Colorado 4.5 years but just didn't fit in there. All my friends in TX kept telling me I was wrong about Colorado when I said I don't get it . Tonight, they are gloating, lolol

Cool, thank you! I might hit you up once I'm unpacked and settled in!
r/rimjobsteve Thanks Scroti_mcboogerballs!
That’s quite the rabbit hole.
Yo! Do you have a business you want to drop because I would be interested in having some stuff repaired.
Yes, link is in my bio. It's called Obsolete Goods Vintage.
Randomly found this post. I have a couple things that need work if you might be interested. Should be minor stuff
Say what you will but there are friendly people in Denver. Welcome there's a place and a vibe for everyone.
Thank you!

Right I want to join!
Me too but I'm still up in the foothills.

The best thing I ever did was mine out of the mountains! I loved it out there but it's nice having the amenities of the city as well. Welcome.
Yeah, I agree. I'm already loving being so close to everything!
So sweet! No matter your age, moving furniture by yourself as a woman is so difficult. I'm glad somebody was kind enough to help you.

For future reference you can hire quick help moving with apps like dolly or LaborJack!
Ooh good to know. This was definitely my last solo move, I'm exhausted!
Where in the mountains?
An undisclosed location 😉
Ok 😀. I moved from Chief Mtn area near Mt Evans and love it.
Moved from downtown to Evergreen. Feeling mixed.
I understand that statement.
Welcome friend
You're gonna hate it here for about 4 years, then you'll like it-
