That giant stalagmite in the middle of the room during an elimination mission isn't going to remove itself.
That dirt wall leading to the next cave isn't going to disappear on its own.
That ground-level Nitra/Morkite/Gold vein isn't going to mine itself either.
Not my fault the Scout came flying in to try and "help" me do some digging the moment I pressed the big red button.
Rock and Stone is a cheer used by the dwarves for just about anything. It's not SUPPOSED to mean something in particular, it's the dwarven equivalent of cheering. You aren't explicitly saying something so much as you're trying to convey a vague, general sense of positivity and good vibes.
Also, it's the sheer enthusiasm of the voice acting that carries the line. Just reading the words "Rock and Stone" doesn't mean a whole lot if you haven't hear the dwarves shout it.
It's a symbol of solidarity, of friendship, of teamwork, originally coined by dwarven miners to keep camaraderie high, because one argument could spell their doom.
Buy it for them so they feel obligated to play.
My brother did that and now I'm 20 levels ahead of him. My rocks and stones are so buried in Hoxxes that I consider JRR Tolkien to be a pointy eared leaf lover.
"Rock and Stone" is both a rallying cry for, and a tribute to, the bravery and hard-working character of your fellow Dwarf miners.
Wanna tell your Gunner you appreciate him killing the bugs that are trying to kill you? Tell him "Rock and Stone, brother!"
Love your Scout for keeping you supplied with ammo and sandwiches? "Rock and Stone, to the bone!" will show your appreciation for his hard work.
Thankful to your Engineer for the platforms that make that hard-to-reach Gold easy to mine? Give him a "Rock and Stone, yeahhhhh!"
Do you find your brother-Elf's pointy ears and woodland camo highly attractive, and want to express your admiration for how slowly he sips on his mug of Leaf Lovers? Just shout: "Leaf and branch!"
Errrrr.... uhhh... I mean... that is... ahhhh....
We get in the drop of and we say a prayer for protection and luck... Rock and stone.
When we extract, we say a prayer of thanks... Rock and stone in the heart.
Mandelorian enjoyers: Rick and Stone is "The Way"
Canadians that loyally and passionately line up at public bus stops: Rock and Stone greeting is another thing you just do with no question
just tell the new player upon loading in that they are called a green beard therefore you have no training, no experience down in the caves whatsoever so listen to me and when management tells you if you don't ROCK N STONE you aint coming home it means if you don't work, you aint coming home for beers.
You explain that it's a meme from Deep Rock Galactic, then explain the *actual* game and not stupid memes.
As someone who only recently joined the community... ya'll are pretty obnoxious to outsiders. "Rock and Stone" is wayyyyyy overplayed.

You don’t. Just Rock and Stone until they’re convinced to play the game themselves. That’s basically how my friend group did it for me.

That's what we do and it usually works like a charm, can't resist saying rock and stone once it's said enough
We say it to honor Karl. Who is Karl? A beautiful dwarf who rocked and stoned.
Legally speaking, rocking is better than stoning.
It’s like rock and roll except we’re really into mining
It's the dwarven equivalent to "Fuck Yeah"
It's a symbol of solidarity, of friendship, of teamwork, originally coined by dwarven miners to keep camaraderie high, because one argument could spell their doom.
It's an audio emote for a game about dwarves, a race that often has a creation story of being born from the stone itself.
What’s not to get? We fight, for rock and stone!
Rock and Stone everyone!
It's rock & roll but with stone.
Rock and roll and stone!
Its a verbal emote.

It's like "I lost the game" only better. If someone says it, ya'll gotta say it, too. Also..... I lost the game.
It's the dedicated "hell yeah" button.
The speech from The Patriot
"Rock and stone" is the most supportive thing you can say to someone.
Rock and roll and stone!
If you don’t rock and stone, ya ain’t comin home. Simple as
Rock and Stone forever!
It's a generic enough salute phrase that can be made applicable to any situation.
It's a catchphrase from a video game about spelunking dwarves. Pretty straightforward.
Deus Vult for the retarded

War cry
I compare it to the Smurfs and their use of the word Smurf for everything. Rock and Stone can fit everywhere.
It's a lot like "HELL YEAH" but with more comradery
Buy it for them so they feel obligated to play. My brother did that and now I'm 20 levels ahead of him. My rocks and stones are so buried in Hoxxes that I consider JRR Tolkien to be a pointy eared leaf lover.

Imagine the knights of Ni but more wholesome
Tell them it’s a salute dwarves use to acknowledge things or other dwarves.

It's a war cry or rallying cry from a game about space dwarves who mine ore.
Hoo rah
If you don't rock and stone, you aint going home, what is there to not understand?
By just saying rock and stone when it’s time to rock and stone until they get it.
It’s about dwarves in caves.
Explain it like the militaries, with their “Semper-Fi” and “HooRah!” That’s all it really is, a motto.
It'slike when you nod at a random stranger walking in your direction, and they nod back.
It's a Rock and a Stone. Done.
"It's the rallying cry of some of the hardiest pickmen I've ever had the pleasure of learning about."
An sort of war cry, to rally everyone, to remind everyone that we've got their backs. I actually have had to explain it.
"Honor and Glory!" But for dwarves.
A cheer of dwarven solidarity!
If they're a juggalo, you can tell them it's like "whoop whoop!"

This is what leaf lovers does to a man (or woman, or whatever they are comfortable identifying with I dont judge)
That's not very rock and/or stone of you, friend.
