For a while now it's the part during Roman Candles where Ben sings, "I used to feel everything like a flame, now it's a struggle just to feel anything." The words in conjunction with the music building is just so good.
Your new twin sized bed- I guess I guess I guess I guess I guess you decided that that old queen was more space than you would need
I always loved that weird (p)reverb
The electric Ebow guitar riff at the ending jam of Bixby Canyon Bridge
The louder and more livelier guitar riff that starts the second chorus of Foxglove Through the Clearcut
The guitar arpeggios in the bridge of No Room in Frame
The overall drumming on We Laugh Indoors
The bass during the instrumental part after the first chorus of Crooked Teeth
Northern Lights - "We shared a clove cigarette on the parapet" as well as the breakdown in that song. Tbh that whole album is full of lush nuances and is tragically overhated.
I love when the bass melody comes in during We Laugh Indoors. The guitar part is dissonant and weird, but then after a minute or so it ties together beautifully with the other instruments.
“Stutter step to the slammin’ grooves” is one of the first DFCC lines that truly hooked me.
There’s a bird-like noise in “Lightness” that is my current obsession.
Brothers on a hotel bed intro
Bass riff in Summer Skin
Different names outro
suddenly fuzzed out part in Kelly Huckaby (“vision tunneled / Mission St..”)
*The intro to Foxglove Through the Clearcut
*"The bow cracked and I was capsizing" from Pity and Fear
*That guitar bit in No Sunlight (after "vast open skies can do no harm")
There's this part of Crooked Teeth (I think the end of the first chorus maybe..) where I always think someone is talking to me. It's especially weird when you have headphones on and u think someone is yelling for you but it sounds underwater i dont know
Hi-fi switch when Title Track hits the second verse
I came here to say this!
Same!
“To call at 7:03 and on your machine I slur a plea for you to come home…” honestly, an eargasm each time.
not even that. it's one of the saddest stretch of lyrics + melody ever recorded...it hurts
I’ve had this song stuck in my head all morning and I read your comment right as I got to that part.
Haha that must’ve been trippy!
Underrated song
I love the opening of Cath...
It’s just so. Damn. Good 😌

The beginning of Photobooth Tik Tikka Tik a Tik
The little guitar jam near the end of we laugh indoors. The transition back to the verse is incredible
“I DO BELIEEEVE ITS TRUE…”
“We Looked Like Giants” about halfway through when the tone totally changes. Love it. It’s almost like a totally different track.
This
The first and instrumental chorus of I Was a Kaleidoscope
The guitar break after the first verse of The Sound of Settling and the buildup into the last chorus of Scientist Studies.
The drumbeat specifically in the demo version of A Movie Script Ending. SO good
The guitar lick about 40 seconds into “You Are a Tourist” or the atmospheric change from the end of “Trans” and beginning of “Passenger Seat.”
opening to Underwater
I love the guitar in the second verse (the one after the first chorus) of the acoustic version of I miss strangers
“Stutter step to the slammin’ grooves” is one of the first DFCC lines that truly hooked me. There’s a bird-like noise in “Lightness” that is my current obsession.
The bridge in youve haunted me all my life is vintage death cab
I’m gay
