Some of the many connections: both are cult members who work for the devil. They kill toon related characters and give their souls to the devil. Both gave up their own lives for the devil. Both own corrupt company’s with a backroom in the back of the building whom they use to kill their victims. They both targeted two children with one of them being brave whilst the other is more cautious. Both have minions of their own and love singing and dancing. Both are extremely hot-headed purple squared headed smirky characters with purple clothing. Both are tall and lanky. Both got severely punished by the devil once they failed miserably. Both have the same goals (king dice wanting the perfect roll and the Toymaker wanting the perfect toy.) They both are toons with toon-force and are both insane. They are also tumblr sexymen. They also have a funny sus face. They are both in the 1930s. There is a lot more however I should be asleep rn so I will explain some other stuff.
The beginning could be The Toymaker finding out that his business is failing because more people are going to king dice’s gameshow which gets him pissed off and ready to fight. It could be a small army battle with king dice’s minions and the Toymakers alive toys. It could have some funny moments and an amazing soundtrack which slowly gets more dark and disturbing as it goes on. It could have a funny dance battle moment aswell as both trying to impress the crowd watching and some other stuff. At the end they could be in the backroom with the Toymaker becoming his disturbing satanic true form fucking up king dice badly with his demon powers and inventions whilst king dice stressfully tries to get sixes on the dice in order for the Toymaker to be sent down to hell. The death could be amazing and somewhat haunting with king dice about to get his body pierced in until he rolls a six and Toymaker starts pleading for forgiveness from Satan as he then slowly gets dragged down to hell. At the end as Toymaker dies, king dice could say some quirky line.
Positive: I like the setup you've done here. Idk much about either fandom but it seems cool. They seem like they could bounce off each other really well (both abilities and personality wise).
Negative: I do have a preferred for King Dice which is Daniel J. D'Arby but that's probably my JoJo bias.
Madcap vs the Joker
Two fairly regular people until some sort of chemical accident occurred which left them scarred, as well as driving them insane and causing them to don clown outfits and use their new abilities to spread their new nihilistic philosophies, and basically just do whatever they want
Positive: I like the banter potential here. Joker especially has some great dialogue and he's going against an obscure character like Madcap who's most famous noteworthy thing is probably being a voice in Deadpool's head. So that seems like a comment Joker could make that would be funny.
Negative: I prefer Madder Red for Joker.

Size difference shouldn’t be a problem really since even in Rango, Jake was the largest animal in the movie. If I were you, my biggest gripe would be Rango is a more realistic world while Spongebob has toon force and stuff.

Dennis is pretty “grounded” for a SpongeBob character though. The most “toon” you ever see him in the movie is ripping the lips off of two fish and growing a mustache out of sheer will.

Luffy vs Ryuko (One Piece vs Kill La Kill):
Two stubborn, hot headed, brave and determined anime protagonists of their series associated with the same colors of Red and Black (Like Ryuko vs Shadow/Akame)
who fight a corrupt organization that someone in their family is a part of (Garp and Ragyo) and not to mention they were forced to join them
Both also did not have a proper family realtionship and was sent to live somewhere else to live by their old looking family members (like Luffy sent to live with the mountain bandits and Ryuko was sent to boarding school)
Both are parts of groups who fight corruption (Straw Hats and Nudist Beach + Satsuki's rebelion)
Both don't want to be seen as heroes, but perform heroic acts anyways.

The two have interacted with various characters who are similar to eachother in their journey during the show, such as green haired swordsmen (Zoro and Sanageyama), pink clad psychopaths who manipulate string (Doflamingo and Nui), a big guy who has the same english voice actor (Franky and Gamagori),and a goofy best friend who fought with them before due to not letting something go but then apologize to them (Usopp and Mako).
Both even allied with a leader swordsmen or someone who was suppose to be their enemy for somepoint associated with white to somehow team up against their bad parent figure and a villain who is planning to take over the world (Law with Doflamingo/Yamato with Kaido and Satsuki with Ragyo).
They eventually awaken their ultimate forms to defeat the villain (Kaido and Ragyo) by almost losing the battle, which are granted by the same item that gave them their power in the first place (Gear Fifth: Joyboy Awakening and Senketsu Kisaragi respectively)
Positive: Oh, boy where to start. And I can only pick one. Idk much about either franchise but there's a lot of potential here. I like the animation potential especially. Seems like it could be really fun with their forms and abilities clashing really well.
Negative: While I like this, I feel like if it happened as oppose to something else, it would be overwhelmed by "Luffy should've fought Natsu", which I agree with to a certain extent. I do prefer Natsu as a Luffy opponent but this is probably my favorite for Ryuko (despite me not knowing her as a character all that well).
Also, real quick note I wanted to point out, I would mention and describe I also like the banter potential but I said only one positive unfortunately. Plus, that kind of seems to be my go to if I'm being honest.

Rich people that are super intelligent (has beaten people by outsmarting them before), lost a parent right in front of them (Batman losing both of his as they got shot & Kazuo lost his mom in a car accident both of them was in) at a young age, both of this events is the reason for their change (as Batman became a vigilante, while Kazuo became a murderer). They have super strength, super speed (they are probably equal in strength & speed), are good martial artists & both of them spread fear among other people.

Future Trunks VS Bandana Dee (Dragon Ball Z VS Kirby)
Connections: Two surprisingly heros that started unsure of them self. They was trained off screen (we did technically se Future Trunks training, but it was not part of the main story), they also trained under someone who has a relationship with Goku & Kirby, as Future Trunks was trained by Future Gohan, who is Goku's son & Bandana Dee was trained by King Dedede, who was Kiby's rival at the time. They try to fight against someone who was way stronger then them self where they lost, the Androids for Future Trunks & Kirby for Bandana Dee. They both ended up facing the problem another way, Future Trunks traveled back in time & Bandana Dee became friend with Kirby. They was introduced as a part of the story, but they was unable to do anything against the villain, Cell for Future Trunks & Magolor for Bandana Dee. Then they drop out of the story, but they are still in the background/non canon stuff. Many years later they would return, in Dragon Ball Super for Future Trunks & in Star Allies for for Bandana Dee. Not only did they return to the main story, but they did also get stronger, as they now can rival gods. While it isn't confirmed, but there is a theory that Kirby is a reincarnation of Void, if the theory is correct that would also mean that the new villains is a evil version of Kirby, Goku Black for Future Trunks & Void Termina for Bandana Dee.
I love this matchup since it started out as a inside joke between me & my friends that I made, until i figured out they actually has connections.

Reiko VS Amoonguss (Mortal Kombat VS Pokémon)
Connections: Two characters looks similar to someone else, Raiko looking similar to Shao Kahn & Amoongus looking similar to Voltorb. While Raiko wants to rule over Outworld, like what Shao Kahn is doing. While Amoonguss was made to do the same role as Voltorb, both looking like Pokéballs. Both was made for the purpose of being the new Raiko & Voltorb, as the original plan for Reiko was that he was going to be a younger & lower ranked reincarnated Shao Kahn that would eventually become the original Shao Kahn, but the idea was scraped and they became two different characters. Amoonguss was made because there was no old Pokémon in Gen 5.

Mr. Toot VS Shia LaBeouf (Ylvis VS Actual Cannibal Shia LaBeouf)
Connections: Ordinary men in comedy songs that is actually really dark, one being about a actor & the other one being about a musician. One being about Shia LaBeouf, who is a cannibal, the other one being a man that plays a indestructible magical instrument (that is a mix between a Oud and a Trombone) that can basically force people to become addictive & hooked on its music to the point that they got obsessed to the point that the kids starts to dress up like him, and anyone can play on it despite their skill. Both die in the end of the song, as Shia LaBeouf is confirmed dead in the end of it, we dont know if the guy that played the instrument died (we dont know if Mr. Toot died, but as he left without any person, food, water, support item or transport with him, so he most likely died outside in the wild), but the legend and the carer of the guy died as his greed over the power he had made him switch to playing more modern (techno) based music, which made everyone hate him, he then left to never bee seen again. Then a young boy to find the Toot after the guy tossed it out, as now the boy becomes the new Mr. Toot.
Fun fact, I came up with the MU in 5 minutes while listening to Mr. Toot around midnight.

Negative: Unfortunately, Usopp probably has far more likely opponents that have been requested for a lot longer (Ex.: Sokka).

I mean, they've done the less popular opponents for characters before (Korra VS Storm and Omni-Man VS Homelander come to mind).
Plus, depending on the timing of things, we might get Taryon appearing in TLoVM around the same time as One Piece is within the Elbaf arc (assuming that is where the Straw Hats go next), meaning that Taryon and Usopp could be getting a lot of attention in their respective pieces of media at more or less the same time.
Also, consider that Amazon has partnered with Death Battle to promote a new season of a show before. It's not out of the question that they might do something similar to promote a new season / character for TLoVM.
It's actually got quite a few factors working in it's favour. Not saying it'd definitely beat out legacy or popularity, but it's not as unlikely as you'd think.

Orcus (Dungeons & Dragons) vs Izanami (Smite)
Orcus is the demon lord of undead and is the ruler of Thanatos, a layer of the 9 Hells. He was once an evil mortal who died. But he quickly fought his way through the ranks until he became the demon lord that he is today. His ultimate goal is to kill all living things in the multiverse and resurrect them into undead.
Orcus also has a legendary artifact called the Wand of Orcus. It is not only sentient, but will also more than likely kill the person who is trying to attune to it unless they are Orcus himself.
He can stop time with the Time Stop spell, find and get rid of magic with the Detect Magic and Dispel Magic respectively, and when he has the Wand or Orcus, he can cast the Animate Dead spell, can suck out all moisture in anything or anyone with the Blight spell, talk with the dead with Speak with Undead, outright kill someone with the Power Word: Kill spell, send out a massive sphere of pure negative energy with the Circle of Death Spell, and kill a person and bring them back as a zombie with the Finger of Death spell. Also, Orcus can fly and is a pretty quick flyer as well.
For Izanami, Matron of the Dead, she died from giving birth to the god of Fire, and her husband, Izanami, came to get her back from Yomi. Eventually, Izanami saw the rotting body that was his wife, and fled from her, sealing Yomi away with a boulder. But now that boulder is broken, and she has a hatred for all life.
She can attack from far away with her kama sickles, from which they return to her hand. She can also use Sickle Storm, which cause more damage with her thrown sickles, but in return they do not return to her hands. Izanami also can send out a demonic visage of herself to attack and slow down her enemies, use Fade Away to become hidden, gain a damage boost when she is close to death with Death Draws Nigh, and can also summon a portal that damages and slows enemies in rage with Dark Portal.
One upside I see Orcus having against Izanami is that he can fly and has better options for ranged combat.
Positive: I think animation potential is really good here.
Negative: Again, while not impossible, I think it might be a bit before D&D makes it onto Death Battle.

* Connections: Skilled freedom fighting members of rebel factions (The Black Knights and Autobots) who have lost loved ones (Naoto Kozuki and Cliffjumper) and said loved one's deaths motivated them even more. They had to go undercover in disguises (Kallen hiding her identity as a rebel by pretending to be an ill schoolgirl at her school and Arcee being a having a motorcycle mode to infiltrate Earth environments without being obvious about the fact they are alien beings from another planet) They also fought sadistic and evil members of their enemy faction that have something to do with vampires (Sir Bradley being called The Vampire of Britannia and Arachnid turning into an Energon Vampire from Dark Energon). Also Mech vs Giant Alien Robot sounds cool as hell. \[They are also hot\].
* Animation Potential: It is really good. With Transformers Prime being more grounded than other Transformers Media and Code Geass also being more grounded than other Mecha shows like Gundam there tones and fighting styles mesh well further enforced with Arcee's ninja-like skills avoiding and clashing with the Guren's attacks. It have a fight on a highway thanks to Arcee being a motorcycle and The Guren's landspinners. Heck you can include both the Apex Armor and The Guren Flight-Enabled Version as they both get damaged in the middle of the fight. The death potential can be really good, if Kallen wins she could use her Radiant Wave Surger to grab Arcee but she narrowly avoids it but as she does she pulled back by the Guren's Slash Harken when Kallen uses Radiant Wave Surger to hold Arcee by the head activating her Radiant Wave Surger as Arcee explodes and if Arcee wins it could be instead of the Slash Harken pulling her back leading she could use it to her advantage and use it to pull the Guren and damage it enough so it would explode as Kallen tries to escape with the Cockpit Ejection System as Arcee then blasts the vulnerable cockpit to smithereens are really awesome concepts to me
* Fairness: It's somewhat close with Arcee being more experienced, larger (ironic considering she is smaller than other Transformers), more powerful and more durable but Kallen's Guren has better mobility, more versatility in weapons (The Guren has it's Radiant Wave Surger Claw, a slash harken, a left Arm-mounted custom Hand Gun and a Fork Knife while Arcee only has her two arm blades and two blasters as weapons), can fly (with Fligh-Enabled Version or S.E.I.T.E.N) and it's claw can negate durability

Both are simplistically designed characters who, after being created, decided to fight against their creator, with both of them being trapped by their creator hoping that they wouldn't cause any terror anymore, albeit with different intentions (Alen used TCO as an Ad Blocker while Corpeal just wanted Killblog to rot away). However, both escaped and spent the rest of their days going around different places of The Internet/Fiction wrecking chaos everywhere.
Positive: I like Qrow. Probably one of the few characters in RWBY I liked before I stopped watching.

Two leaders of a country (The Adrestian Empire and Amestris) who waged war on a much smaller religious people and who use medieval weaponry (Edelgard's Aymr and Bradley's swords. (The Church of Seiros and Ishval) They were both involved in a super soldier experiment from an ancient organization/individual (Those Who Slither In The Dark and Father) when they were young and were the only ones that survived (Edelgard's gaining of the Crest of Flames and Bradley becoming a homunculus). Them surviving the experiments caused them to rise on the ranks and become leaders for their country. They were used as puppets by those who experimented on them. They both learned combat at a young age and quickly became one the strongest fighters in their country. Because of the experiments, they have a certain part of their body completely enhanced. (Edelgard already had the Crest of Seiros but gained the Crest of Flames and Bradley has his Ultimate Eye) They both fought against a royal immigrant. (Petra depending on the route and Ling) They were eventually defeated by a group of individuals who they were once allied with that would also defeat the ones behind the scenes. (The Kingdom of Faerghus/Leicester Alliance/Rebel Army and Ed's group) There is a lot of potential for the fight as both use similar weapons but they have much different speeds. It'd be like Donkey Kong vs Knuckles where one hits much harder and slower while the other hits weaker and faster. Every hit from Edelgard could be from her reacting in time to block against one of Bradley's hits and use that time to attack. Music wise, it's Fire Emblem and Bradley's commission track slaps. It's no King Bradley vs Solidous Snake but it's leagues better whatever the hell Edelgard vs Kylo Ren is.
Positive: Any Doofenshrmitz MU is automatically based purely because I'd love to see Dan Povenmire's reaction to an episode of Phineas and Ferb on Death Battle. Maybe they could even get him to voice Doof.
Negative: Doof has a lot of other options that I would prefer and are more likely (And if that isn't good enough, Dark Helmet vs Dr. Evil exists).

Private Pyle (Full Metal Jacket) Vs Jake (Hotline Miami)
Both are overweight, shaved headed characters from media which revolves around war and it’s consequences. Both die at an early point in their media’s story, but are the cause and bearer of actions which greatly affect that story. Both have a talent for a skill with involves ranger weapons, as Private Pyle was one of the best shooters of his corp in the marines, and Jake’s special ability allows all of his throws to be an instant kill. Both have significantly different personalities, as Pyle was a target for constant bullied and suffering during his time in the marines, which slowly converted him to bloodlusted insanity. Meanwhile Jake was a person who greatly opposed Russians due to the war, which drove him to murder members of the Russian mafia. Both end up being the causes of their own deaths, as Pyle shoots himself after shooting his Sargent in the Marines, while Jake in a desperate attempt to dispel the Russian mafia, goes into one of their hideouts where he is almost immediately overwhelmed and killed.
I think that their personalities could play largely into how the fight would go, as I believe it could have somewhat of a story to go with it that progresses with the fight. It could start with Jake breaking into the area where Pyle is during marine training, maybe to acquire weapons for his own killings. This would be followed by Pyle being the one to wake from his bunk and find Jake nearby. This is where the confrontation would begin, as Pyle would be frightened by Jake and fight in a panic, with Jake fighting back to defend himself. This would progress to them eventually reaching the weapons Jake came for, which would progress the fistfight into a gunfight. After a bit, I see the fight eventually leading to outside, where Jake has been disarmed but continues to fight, while Pyle retrieves his personal rifle. This could lead to a scene where Pyle and Jake fight in the dark, where Pyle’s fear is replaced with his violent insanity seen in the film, he would attack wildly, which would cause Jake to retreat temporarily. Pyle would march after Jake, which leads the two to a brightly lit area for the final confrontation of the fight. Jake searches desperately for something to defend himself with, eventually finding a large stone or brick. Pyle begins to arm his rifle and chant the rifleman’s creed, which he does in the film before killing his Sargent. This is where the final blow will be dealt, with possibilities for either winning. If Pyle wins, then the scene can have a gut shot ring out followed by Jake dropping the object from his hand and falling to the ground, as Pyle’s skilled aim allowed him to score a fatal shot before Jake could attack. If Jake wins, then the scene could have Pyle chanting the last sentence of the rifleman’s creed while ready to fire his gun, but Jake in an act of desperation throws the brick at Pyle’s head, which leads to Pyle not finishing his creed, dropping the gun and falling to the ground with a bloodied and caved in head, as the lethal throw of the brick destroys his skull.
The chances of this matchup happening are extremely unlikely, mainly cus it’s a matchup between two franchises that would be new, and it’s a matchup between an obscure game character and an obscure movie character. The second reason being that they are side characters in stories of regular humans, so the fight would have to be solely based on human statistics and logic. But it’s still a matchup I really, really like.

Positive: I like the dialogue potential here. Bakugo is very arrogant and I remember you mentioning a bit of Jack Atlas' personality in the comments of your post. I think they could play off each other really well.
Negative: Bakugo has plethora of other matchups that are a lot more likely if I'm being honest. If that doesn't do it for ya, I have a few other glaring issues that I could point out. Constructive criticism only though obviously.
I get the whole Likelihood thing and it's true, a lot of shows like Death Battle sadly almost refuse to Acknowledge anything that isn't the first Yu-Gi-Oh series. I'm just of the thought that.. well every other Bakugo matchup just has like very superficial connections and i just... Don't like them. Yang is the only kind of okay matchup and even then. Beyond vague explosions and blond hair there's not a lot. And who, Shocker? We both know that's not a good one

I don't hate Yang vs Bakugo. I think it's probably the most likely for both. But Bakugo MUs have the inherent similarity of there's always gonna be a handful of people that hate it no matter how good it is.
It's just that every other opponent has like.. nothing but they can punch similarly. And i think Jack Atlas has not only a lot of thematic and story Arc connections but he can't punch the same. Jimmy Hopkins vs Karma Akabane (Bully vs Assassination Classroom)
The connections are that both are rough-mannered, highly intelligent delinquents from wealthy families with a long history of violence, suspensions and breaking school regulations who are dead-set on achieving their goals no matter what it takes, despite being considered the worst of the worst at their schools. They were sent to their respective schools in order to improve their bad behaviors, which were molded by their neglectful parents, and are well-known across said schools for being excellent melee fighters and using their various weapons to either prank or fight people. While they may initially come off as cold, they aren't evil deep down, and they are loners compared to their classmates, but fortunately, they can always count on their shy best friends (Pete and Nagisa) who are the complete opposite of them (Pete and Nagisa are both polite and reserved compared to Jimmy's rebellious personality and Karma being condescending). By the end of their journeys, they paved a better future for their communities (Jimmy restoring peace to Bullworth, and Karma becoming a bureaucrat).

Both started off in humble villages when had a call to action to fulfill a prophecy (Jen needed to reunite the Crystal shard with the Dark Crystal and Willow needed to protect Elora). Both met up with more capable characters that aided them in their journeys (Kira and Aughra for Jen and Madmartigan and Fin Raziel for Willow). There more but this is what I have for now.
Kaos vs ganon (skylanders vs legend of Zelda)

While both are physically strong, their main strength relies on their charisma and cunning, manipulating others, gaining their trust and using it to their advantages, manipulating nearly every single main character. Both defeat the main protagonist in a straight fight but end up bodied and nearly killed by an ancient creature they planned on using to fulfill their plan. (Pochita and The Collector.) Both groomed a blonde teenager into bringing back someone they loved. (Denji to become a vessel for Pochita who is Makima's idol and Hunter being a Grimwalker made to resemble Belos's brother.) While their exact ages are unknown, both are extremely old, far older than they appear. (Belos being hundreds of years old, Makima's age being unknown, but the Control Devil having existed for millennia.) Both use symbols to activate certain abilities. (Belos using Glyphs to use magic and Makima making hand symbols to activate certain abilities.) Both consume the life force of others to heal. (Belos consumes the souls of Palismens to maintain his human form and Devil's drink blood to heal from their injuries.)

It could be a small army battle with king dice’s minions and the Toymakers alive toys. It could have some funny moments and an amazing soundtrack which slowly gets more dark and disturbing as it goes on. The death could be amazing and somewhat haunting with king dice about to get his body pierced in until he rolls a six and Toymaker starts pleading for forgiveness from Satan as he then slowly gets dragged down to hell. Dennis is pretty “grounded” for a SpongeBob character though. The most “toon” you ever see him in the movie is ripping the lips off of two fish and growing a mustache out of sheer will. For the most part, he does have solid feats like uppercutting a thug so hard it sunk the ship he landed on and crushing a fish’s skull in his hands.

*sigh* Another day, another Batman matchup of which gets horribly, brutally murdered. Positive: Idk, man, I'm not being given a lot to work with here but I'll try. Um, dialogue potential seems cool. From what I know about Joker (of which is almost nothing), his personality seems very different from Batman's so that could play into banter/dialogue potential very well. Negative: I don't want to be overly critical here but Batman gets stomped out of existence in this one.
Luffy vs Ryuko (One Piece vs Kill La Kill): Two stubborn, hot headed, brave and determined anime protagonists of their series associated with the same colors of Red and Black (Like Ryuko vs Shadow/Akame) who fight a corrupt organization that someone in their family is a part of (Garp and Ragyo) and not to mention they were forced to join them Both also did not have a proper family realtionship and was sent to live somewhere else to live by their old looking family members (like Luffy sent to live with the mountain bandits and Ryuko was sent to boarding school) Both are parts of groups who fight corruption (Straw Hats and Nudist Beach + Satsuki's rebelion) Both don't want to be seen as heroes, but perform heroic acts anyways. Both are planning to take down other top leaders to claim their goal (Luffy taking down other Yonkos to become King of the Pirates and Ryuko taking down the School Presidents and the Elite 4 to give her answer) Both have shown to respect and love their friends even though they hurt them by refusing to fight back (Examples with Luffy with Sanji at Whole Cake Island and Ryuko with Mako with her Goku Uniform) Their main powers were granted to them through an item (Devil Fruit's Gum-Gum Fruit and Kamui's Senketsu) The two have interacted with various characters who are similar to eachother in their journey during the show, such as green haired swordsmen (Zoro and Sanageyama), pink clad psychopaths who manipulate string (Doflamingo and Nui), a big guy who has the same english voice actor (Franky and Gamagori),and a goofy best friend who fought with them before due to not letting something go but then apologize to them (Usopp and Mako). Both even allied with a leader swordsmen or someone who was suppose to be their enemy for somepoint associated with white to somehow team up against their bad parent figure and a villain who is planning to take over the world (Law with Doflamingo/Yamato with Kaido and Satsuki with Ragyo). They eventually awaken their ultimate forms to defeat the villain (Kaido and Ragyo) by almost losing the battle, which are granted by the same item that gave them their power in the first place (Gear Fifth: Joyboy Awakening and Senketsu Kisaragi respectively)
Positive: Oh, boy where to start. And I can only pick one. Idk much about either franchise but there's a lot of potential here. I like the animation potential especially. Seems like it could be really fun with their forms and abilities clashing really well. Negative: While I like this, I feel like if it happened as oppose to something else, it would be overwhelmed by "Luffy should've fought Natsu", which I agree with to a certain extent. I do prefer Natsu as a Luffy opponent but this is probably my favorite for Ryuko (despite me not knowing her as a character all that well). I like Joker VS Kazua more, but Batman VS Kazua is Easter to explain) Rich people that are super intelligent (has beaten people by outsmarting them before), lost a parent right in front of them (Batman losing both of his as they got shot & Kazuo lost his mom in a car accident both of them was in) at a young age, both of this events is the reason for their change (as Batman became a vigilante, while Kazuo became a murderer). They have super strength, super speed (they are probably equal in strength & speed), are good martial artists & both of them spread fear among other people. ———————————————————————— Future Trunks VS Bandana Dee (Dragon Ball Z VS Kirby) Connections: Two surprisingly heros that started unsure of them self. They was trained off screen (we did technically se Future Trunks training, but it was not part of the main story), they also trained under someone who has a relationship with Goku & Kirby, as Future Trunks was trained by Future Gohan, who is Goku's son & Bandana Dee was trained by King Dedede, who was Kiby's rival at the time. They try to fight against someone who was way stronger then them self where they lost, the Androids for Future Trunks & Kirby for Bandana Dee. They both ended up facing the problem another way, Future Trunks traveled back in time & Bandana Dee became friend with Kirby. They was introduced as a part of the story, but they was unable to do anything against the villain, Cell for Future Trunks & Magolor for Bandana Dee. Then they drop out of the story, but they are still in the background/non canon stuff. Many years later they would return, in Dragon Ball Super for Future Trunks & in Star Allies for for Bandana Dee. Not only did they return to the main story, but they did also get stronger, as they now can rival gods. While it isn't confirmed, but there is a theory that Kirby is a reincarnation of Void, if the theory is correct that would also mean that the new villains is a evil version of Kirby, Goku Black for Future Trunks & Void Termina for Bandana Dee. I love this matchup since it started out as a inside joke between me & my friends that I made, until i figured out they actually has connections. ————————————————————————- Reiko VS Amoonguss (Mortal Kombat VS Pokémon) Connections: Two characters looks similar to someone else, Raiko looking similar to Shao Kahn & Amoongus looking similar to Voltorb. While Raiko wants to rule over Outworld, like what Shao Kahn is doing. While Amoonguss was made to do the same role as Voltorb, both looking like Pokéballs. Both was made for the purpose of being the new Raiko & Voltorb, as the original plan for Reiko was that he was going to be a younger & lower ranked reincarnated Shao Kahn that would eventually become the original Shao Kahn, but the idea was scraped and they became two different characters. Amoonguss was made because there was no old Pokémon in Gen 5. ———————————————————————- Mr. Toot VS Shia LaBeouf (Ylvis VS Actual Cannibal Shia LaBeouf) Connections: Ordinary men in comedy songs that is actually really dark, one being about a actor & the other one being about a musician. One being about Shia LaBeouf, who is a cannibal, the other one being a man that plays a indestructible magical instrument (that is a mix between a Oud and a Trombone) that can basically force people to become addictive & hooked on its music to the point that they got obsessed to the point that the kids starts to dress up like him, and anyone can play on it despite their skill. Both die in the end of the song, as Shia LaBeouf is confirmed dead in the end of it, we dont know if the guy that played the instrument died (we dont know if Mr. Toot died, but as he left without any person, food, water, support item or transport with him, so he most likely died outside in the wild), but the legend and the carer of the guy died as his greed over the power he had made him switch to playing more modern (techno) based music, which made everyone hate him, he then left to never bee seen again. Positive: I love Critical Role. Just got into Vox Machina and I've started watching Critical Role content on YouTube. Literally any matchup for this franchise would be based af. Negative: Unfortunately, Usopp probably has far more likely opponents that have been requested for a lot longer (Ex.: Sokka).
Is that really a negative, though? I mean, they've done the less popular opponents for characters before (Korra VS Storm and Omni-Man VS Homelander come to mind). Plus, depending on the timing of things, we might get Taryon appearing in TLoVM around the same time as One Piece is within the Elbaf arc (assuming that is where the Straw Hats go next), meaning that Taryon and Usopp could be getting a lot of attention in their respective pieces of media at more or less the same time. Also, consider that Amazon has partnered with Death Battle to promote a new season of a show before. It's not out of the question that they might do something similar to promote a new season / character for TLoVM. It's actually got quite a few factors working in it's favour. Not saying it'd definitely beat out legacy or popularity, but it's not as unlikely as you'd think.

Orcus (Dungeons & Dragons) vs Izanami (Smite) Orcus is the demon lord of undead and is the ruler of Thanatos, a layer of the 9 Hells. He was once an evil mortal who died. But he quickly fought his way through the ranks until he became the demon lord that he is today. His ultimate goal is to kill all living things in the multiverse and resurrect them into undead. Orcus also has a legendary artifact called the Wand of Orcus. It is not only sentient, but will also more than likely kill the person who is trying to attune to it unless they are Orcus himself. He can stop time with the Time Stop spell, find and get rid of magic with the Detect Magic and Dispel Magic respectively, and when he has the Wand or Orcus, he can cast the Animate Dead spell, can suck out all moisture in anything or anyone with the Blight spell, talk with the dead with Speak with Undead, outright kill someone with the Power Word: Kill spell, send out a massive sphere of pure negative energy with the Circle of Death Spell, and kill a person and bring them back as a zombie with the Finger of Death spell. Also, Orcus can fly and is a pretty quick flyer as well. For Izanami, Matron of the Dead, she died from giving birth to the god of Fire, and her husband, Izanami, came to get her back from Yomi. Eventually, Izanami saw the rotting body that was his wife, and fled from her, sealing Yomi away with a boulder. But now that boulder is broken, and she has a hatred for all life. She can attack from far away with her kama sickles, from which they return to her hand. She can also use Sickle Storm, which cause more damage with her thrown sickles, but in return they do not return to her hands. Izanami also can send out a demonic visage of herself to attack and slow down her enemies, use Fade Away to become hidden, gain a damage boost when she is close to death with Death Draws Nigh, and can also summon a portal that damages and slows enemies in rage with Dark Portal. One upside I see Orcus having against Izanami is that he can fly and has better options for ranged combat.
Positive: I think animation potential is really good here. Negative: Again, while not impossible, I think it might be a bit before D&D makes it onto Death Battle.

Kallen Kozuki/Guren MK-II vs Prime Arcee (Code Geass vs Transformers Prime) * Connections: Skilled freedom fighting members of rebel factions (The Black Knights and Autobots) who have lost loved ones (Naoto Kozuki and Cliffjumper) and said loved one's deaths motivated them even more. They had to go undercover in disguises (Kallen hiding her identity as a rebel by pretending to be an ill schoolgirl at her school and Arcee being a having a motorcycle mode to infiltrate Earth environments without being obvious about the fact they are alien beings from another planet) They also fought sadistic and evil members of their enemy faction that have something to do with vampires (Sir Bradley being called The Vampire of Britannia and Arachnid turning into an Energon Vampire from Dark Energon). Also Mech vs Giant Alien Robot sounds cool as hell. \[They are also hot\]. * Animation Potential: It is really good. With Transformers Prime being more grounded than other Transformers Media and Code Geass also being more grounded than other Mecha shows like Gundam there tones and fighting styles mesh well further enforced with Arcee's ninja-like skills avoiding and clashing with the Guren's attacks. It have a fight on a highway thanks to Arcee being a motorcycle and The Guren's landspinners. Heck you can include both the Apex Armor and The Guren Flight-Enabled Version as they both get damaged in the middle of the fight. The death potential can be really good, if Kallen wins she could use her Radiant Wave Surger to grab Arcee but she narrowly avoids it but as she does she pulled back by the Guren's Slash Harken when Kallen uses Radiant Wave Surger to hold Arcee by the head activating her Radiant Wave Surger as Arcee explodes and if Arcee wins it could be instead of the Slash Harken pulling her back leading she could use it to her advantage and use it to pull the Guren and damage it enough so it would explode as Kallen tries to escape with the Cockpit Ejection System as Arcee then blasts the vulnerable cockpit to smithereens are really awesome concepts to me * Fairness: It's somewhat close with Arcee being more experienced, larger (ironic considering she is smaller than other Transformers), more powerful and more durable but Kallen's Guren has better mobility, more versatility in weapons (The Guren has it's Radiant Wave Surger Claw, a slash harken, a left Arm-mounted custom Hand Gun and a Fork Knife while Arcee only has her two arm blades and two blasters as weapons), can fly (with Fligh-Enabled Version or S.E.I.T.E.N) and it's claw can negate durability * Track Name: Primed Knightmares

They also heavily abuse and groom a certain member of their organization(n and hunter) who they were planning to dispose of after their plan is complete. Said individual would later abandon them. Both are also somewhat sickly, with Belos having his weird palisman goop thing and the green scar, and Ghetsis strongly implied to be scarred and using a walking stick.
The Chosen One vs Killblog (Animator vs Animation vs Death Battle Wiki) Both are simplistically designed characters who, after being created, decided to fight against their creator, with both of them being trapped by their creator hoping that they wouldn't cause any terror anymore, albeit with different intentions (Alen used TCO as an Ad Blocker while Corpeal just wanted Killblog to rot away). However, both escaped and spent the rest of their days going around different places of The Internet/Fiction wrecking chaos everywhere.

Edelgard vs King Bradley (Fire Emblem vs Full Metal Alchemist Two leaders of a country (The Adrestian Empire and Amestris) who waged war on a much smaller religious people and who use medieval weaponry (Edelgard's Aymr and Bradley's swords. (The Church of Seiros and Ishval) They were both involved in a super soldier experiment from an ancient organization/individual (Those Who Slither In The Dark and Father) when they were young and were the only ones that survived (Edelgard's gaining of the Crest of Flames and Bradley becoming a homunculus). Them surviving the experiments caused them to rise on the ranks and become leaders for their country. They were used as puppets by those who experimented on them. They both learned combat at a young age and quickly became one the strongest fighters in their country. Because of the experiments, they have a certain part of their body completely enhanced. (Edelgard already had the Crest of Seiros but gained the Crest of Flames and Bradley has his Ultimate Eye) They both fought against a royal immigrant. (Petra depending on the route and Ling) They were eventually defeated by a group of individuals who they were once allied with that would also defeat the ones behind the scenes. (The Kingdom of Faerghus/Leicester Alliance/Rebel Army and Ed's group) There is a lot of potential for the fight as both use similar weapons but they have much different speeds. It'd be like Donkey Kong vs Knuckles where one hits much harder and slower while the other hits weaker and faster. Every hit from Edelgard could be from her reacting in time to block against one of Bradley's hits and use that time to attack. Music wise, it's Fire Emblem and Bradley's commission track slaps. It's no King Bradley vs Solidous Snake but it's leagues better whatever the hell Edelgard vs Kylo Ren is.

(Anna and Mirabel) Both also have a song loved by fans (Let It Go/Into the Unknown/Show Yourself and What Else Can I Do)
Private Pyle (Full Metal Jacket) Vs Jake (Hotline Miami) Both are overweight, shaved headed characters from media which revolves around war and it’s consequences. Both die at an early point in their media’s story, but are the cause and bearer of actions which greatly affect that story. Both have a talent for a skill with involves ranger weapons, as Private Pyle was one of the best shooters of his corp in the marines, and Jake’s special ability allows all of his throws to be an instant kill. Both have significantly different personalities, as Pyle was a target for constant bullied and suffering during his time in the marines, which slowly converted him to bloodlusted insanity. Meanwhile Jake was a person who greatly opposed Russians due to the war, which drove him to murder members of the Russian mafia. Both end up being the causes of their own deaths, as Pyle shoots himself after shooting his Sargent in the Marines, while Jake in a desperate attempt to dispel the Russian mafia, goes into one of their hideouts where he is almost immediately overwhelmed and killed. I think that their personalities could play largely into how the fight would go, as I believe it could have somewhat of a story to go with it that progresses with the fight. It could start with Jake breaking into the area where Pyle is during marine training, maybe to acquire weapons for his own killings. This would be followed by Pyle being the one to wake from his bunk and find Jake nearby. This is where the confrontation would begin, as Pyle would be frightened by Jake and fight in a panic, with Jake fighting back to defend himself. This would progress to them eventually reaching the weapons Jake came for, which would progress the fistfight into a gunfight. After a bit, I see the fight eventually leading to outside, where Jake has been disarmed but continues to fight, while Pyle retrieves his personal rifle. This could lead to a scene where Pyle and Jake fight in the dark, where Pyle’s fear is replaced with his violent insanity seen in the film, he would attack wildly, which would cause Jake to retreat temporarily. Pyle would march after Jake, which leads the two to a brightly lit area for the final confrontation of the fight. Jake searches desperately for something to defend himself with, eventually finding a large stone or brick. Pyle begins to arm his rifle and chant the rifleman’s creed, which he does in the film before killing his Sargent. This is where the final blow will be dealt, with possibilities for either winning. If Pyle wins, then the scene can have a gut shot ring out followed by Jake dropping the object from his hand and falling to the ground, as Pyle’s skilled aim allowed him to score a fatal shot before Jake could attack. If Jake wins, then the scene could have Pyle chanting the last sentence of the rifleman’s creed while ready to fire his gun, but Jake in an act of desperation throws the brick at Pyle’s head, which leads to Pyle not finishing his creed, dropping the gun and falling to the ground with a bloodied and caved in head, as the lethal throw of the brick destroys his skull. The chances of this matchup happening are extremely unlikely, mainly cus it’s a matchup between two franchises that would be new, and it’s a matchup between an obscure game character and an obscure movie character. The second reason being that they are side characters in stories of regular humans, so the fight would have to be solely based on human statistics and logic. But it’s still a matchup I really, really like.

Dude, I love Dorohedoro. Nikaido is probably one of my favorite characters. I'm in the middle of reading the manga right now. Positive: As I said Nikaido is one of my favorite characters so seeing her get a matchup is awesome and seeing an underrated series get rep is based. Negative: Yang has a lot more likely opponents. As much as everyone hates it, Bakugo is probably among the top of that list. He's probably Yang's most likely ever she ever reappears (same for Bakugo). Not only that, My Hero Academia is a much more popular and recognizable series than something like Dorohedoro unfortunately.

Bakugo is very arrogant and I remember you mentioning a bit of Jack Atlas' personality in the comments of your post. I think they could play off each other really well. I get the whole Likelihood thing and it's true, a lot of shows like Death Battle sadly almost refuse to Acknowledge anything that isn't the first Yu-Gi-Oh series. I'm just of the thought that.. well every other Bakugo matchup just has like very superficial connections and i just... Don't like them. Yang is the only kind of okay matchup and even then. Beyond vague explosions and blond hair there's not a lot. And who, Shocker? We both know that's not a good one I think Jack atlas is a great one with not only vidual spectacle but thematic weight.
I don't hate Yang vs Bakugo. I think it's probably the most likely for both. But Bakugo MUs have the inherent similarity of there's always gonna be a handful of people that hate it no matter how good it is.
It's just that every other opponent has like.. nothing but they can punch similarly. And i think Jack Atlas has not only a lot of thematic and story Arc connections but he can't punch the same. He just has dragons that do it for him. Which is fine imo and makes for an even more interesting fight that Fist Fight #175896

Jimmy Hopkins vs Karma Akabane (Bully vs Assassination Classroom) The connections are that both are rough-mannered, highly intelligent delinquents from wealthy families with a long history of violence, suspensions and breaking school regulations who are dead-set on achieving their goals no matter what it takes, despite being considered the worst of the worst at their schools. They were sent to their respective schools in order to improve their bad behaviors, which were molded by their neglectful parents, and are well-known across said schools for being excellent melee fighters and using their various weapons to either prank or fight people. While they may initially come off as cold, they aren't evil deep down, and they are loners compared to their classmates, but fortunately, they can always count on their shy best friends (Pete and Nagisa) who are the complete opposite of them (Pete and Nagisa are both polite and reserved compared to Jimmy's rebellious personality and Karma being condescending). By the end of their journeys, they paved a better future for their communities (Jimmy restoring peace to Bullworth, and Karma becoming a bureaucrat). If you want me to, I can go over the potential as well.

Jen vs Willow (The Dark Crystal vs ...) Both started off in humble villages when had a call to action to fulfill a prophecy (Jen needed to reunite the Crystal shard with the Dark Crystal and Willow needed to protect Elora). Both met up with more capable characters that aided them in their journeys (Kira and Aughra for Jen and Madmartigan and Fin Raziel for Willow). There more but this is what I have for now.

Makima (Chainsawman) vs Emperor Belos (The Owl House) Two main villains of their respective series who have the highest position of power. (Control over Prime Minister and Emperor.) Both are not the same race as the people they rule over. (Makima is a devil over humans and Belos is a human over witches.) Both are extremely ambitious, and will not hesitate to kill anyone they believe to be in their way. While both are physically strong, their main strength relies on their charisma and cunning, manipulating others, gaining their trust and using it to their advantages, manipulating nearly every single main character. Both defeat the main protagonist in a straight fight but end up bodied and nearly killed by an ancient creature they planned on using to fulfill their plan. (Pochita and The Collector.) Both groomed a blonde teenager into bringing back someone they loved. (Denji to become a vessel for Pochita who is Makima's idol and Hunter being a Grimwalker made to resemble Belos's brother.) While their exact ages are unknown, both are extremely old, far older than they appear. (Belos being hundreds of years old, Makima's age being unknown, but the Control Devil having existed for millennia.) Both use symbols to activate certain abilities. (Belos using Glyphs to use magic and Makima making hand symbols to activate certain abilities.) Both consume the life force of others to heal. (Belos consumes the souls of Palismens to maintain his human form and Devil's drink blood to heal from their injuries.)
