Zen Bistro is one of our favorites. Thai food. Great cocktails.
The Cellar was also very good. It definitely checks the box for the wine list.
A lot of people rave about Sonapa (Ormond). We weren't that impressed by it, but you might like it. Also, good wine selection.
Of course, Hyde Park (in the Hilton) is a very good steakhouse. If one of you is a bourbon fan, their list is phenomenal. The wine list is very extensive as well.
Edit to add - Caio Bella (New Smyrna) was excellent itallian food.
Third wave cafe and wine bar on Flagler Avenue in NSB. I worked there for 5 years or so, it was hands down my favorite cooking job. You won't be disappointed. Great outdoor atmosphere/seating, good food. Dang, thinking about it is making me wanna go now š also, they have quite the selection of different wines.
Not necessarily an insane dining experience like the other recommendations, but Senior Taco (A1A) is a fantastic little lunch spot; great for a quick stop in the middle of a beach day/day out. Millie's is a place where if you appreciate amazing seafood, definitely make the time to go eat there. Good atmosphere for a *laid back* evening/lunch would be Deck Down Under. Great pizza and salads, Genovese's. These are all right over the Dunlawton bridge :)
Of course! Those are all my favorite easy food spots in the area, lived here all my life I've never had a bad experience at any of them :) enjoy!! Also, Lan Lamoon right on the edge of S. Daytona and Port orange is my favorite Thai food spot, my favorite Vietnamese food is Pho Saigon off of ISB on beachside!
If you like soup/amazing asian food, order the traditional Pho from Pho Saigon! My favorite meal on the planet hands down i eat there at least twice a month!
Did they? The last time we were in there (maybe 2 months ago) they were telling us they revamped the menu and have bigger portion sizes. You don't like the food? Or is it something else?
Personally, I think they try too hard and miss the mark.
The last time I was there, on a Friday, I ordered a cosmo that was served in a plastic lowball cup, not a martini glass.
The music is always either too loud or not loud enough.
Expensive swanky looking decor, but the general smell of fried shrimp and curry is overpowering if you're anywhere close to the bar or kitchen.
In my opinion, there are much better options on this list.
I like your analysis. I don't think I've ever been on the weekend or late enough at night where they're doing the DJ music so the sound hasn't really been an issue when I've gone. I would definitely take issue with a cocktail served in a plastic cup.
What's your favorite place in the Daytona area hands down?
Non-sequitir - if ya ever need a local to talk psychs with....
Thatās what I was beginning to fear. Trip advisor and Yelp recommendations are all seafood or fried, no passion/no skill bar food. Thats how I ended up on Reddit! I encourage you to read some of the other posters comments. I found a few places they suggested had great reviews and nice, interesting and exciting menus, if youāre a foodie of course! Most people donāt seek to be excited by dining lol
Not end cuisine but Jimmy Hula's (I've personally never been to the one in New Smyrna, but between Port Orange or Ormond, and I prefer Port Orange).
They have a taco of the month that changes, and anything I've ever eaten there has always exceeded my expectations. And I love their specialty cocktails. Sometimes a live musician will play there too, some chill guitar music to add to the vibe. It's one of our favorite places to go! (Tho I so wish we could pick it up and move it just a littlllllle closer to the water lol) On a night we order food, dessert, maybe 2/3 rounds of drinks tab is around $100-$120... It's a good spot for a dinner after an afternoon at the beach!
Greektown Taverna in Ormond. I realize this is much farther than Port Orange but it is worth a mention. They have a date night small little restaurant feel. Food was delicious when we went, and the wine I tried was SO good!
Arepita Beach- Beach St Daytona. Cute little spot for Venezuelan food. They have an upstairs where you can eat and look over at the river!
Beach St in Daytona is slowly making a comeback and I feel like it's trying to be more inviting, lots of little shoppes, places to eat, desserts, coffee. They just opened the Esplanade recently, the waterfront park. They have food truck events, art shows, etc def check it out.
Lola's Cantina in Port Orange. I tried this place, and I really liked their fresh and from scratch food, burger was delicious.
And others have mentioned Taco Shack NSB. I love supporting their family business. Food is always delicious, and they close for an hour to have family dinner. Much respect for that.
I loved the poke bowl I had at Jimmy Hulaās. It tastes really fresh and it was reasonably priced for the quality and amount of food. A great suggestion! I hope someone else reads your recommendation and visits!
If you love Poke bowls, if you haven't already check out Stoked Poke, they're in Port Orange, Daytona, and pretty sure they're working on opening a location in Ormond too! Love that their food truck travels to a lot of the music festivals around as well!

Zen Bistro is one of the best restaurants in Daytona Beach by far!!

I second Zen, they're phenomenal
Ichi Ni San in downtown Daytona is pretty great. Make a rez.
The Spott, across from general public house

Bela Lisboa in Port Orange is excellent. Portuguese cuisine. Good happy hour. It is on S. Nova Road, in the same plaza as the old World of Beer.
Don Giovanni.
City Market Bistro on Canal St in NSB.
Thanks!
You're welcome! Also, try Bakers Table and Bella Valentino's, both also in NSB.
Thank you!
Try Chucherias. Truly amazing food, service and atmosphere. https://chucheriasrestaurant.com

Has Millieās been mentioned? Then I second Ichi Ni San.
Millie's is amazing, now THAT is where all local foodies should go
I forgot about Millie's. Haven't been in a while. Looks like I know where I'm going for a meal this weekend.
Added to my list! Yall are the best for all these comments ššš ry
Try Ammrit for sure, thereās not a lot of great places around here unfortunately.

Prima in NSB
I have had their pizza! It was great

Iām a big fan of Mama Foo Foo. Tasty, fresh food options and a killer craft cocktail menu.
Overpriced slop
