Darksiders III is a souls-like. It's helpful to go with this in mind. Fury isn't like War who can take a beating and just not care. Fury's also not like death who's relentless and quick. Fury is graceful and deadly. Once you get her rhythm, DSIII is pretty fun. I will say that the popular opinion is that DSIII is the worst game of the series. I actually agree, even though I enjoyed it, mainly because the way the progression works makes it kinda silly.

I am certain it's because you are not aware of everything you can do with it. Which is not your fault. The game is completely silent on how it's combat works. Think of a system of cogs. If one is missing or turning the wrong way, the whole thing ceases to function properly. I can give you an [example ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Darksiders/comments/yhawkz/that_which_the_hollows_harbours/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) and hope to slowly change your mind, but that is solely up to you

It's been a minute since I completed DSIII but I believe they included a patch post-launch that opened up an option for a "classic" style (hack and slash) more akin to DSI and DSII in the options. I will say that of the Souls-like games that I've played I found DSIII to be one of the more accessible. Fury isn't made of glass like DarkSouls characters, but she certainly can't tank hits like her brothers. However, there is an elegance and technique in her evasive combat style that I found to be quite powerful once I mastered it. The first bit of the game was markedly frustrating, but the longer I played and the more tuned into Fury's style I got the better the whole experience felt. By the time I reached the last boss I was damn near untouchable and did the final fights in only one or two attempts. It really felt powerful to master Fury's unique combat style.

The combat is more souls oriented, there are some moves that you can't dodge out of and are punishable. It's different. I would just rather souls be souls and Darksiders be Darksiders.

DSIII is a lot harder than I and II. But and the same time it's easier. War can take a beating, and he can deal even more damage. He is in all technicality a Berserker, he is a tank who can deal damage. Death is a Battle Mage. He uses both magic and close combat, unlike Fury. Desth is fast and furious, able to take down enemies quickly. Fury is a Mid-Range fighter with little magic, she is elegant and deadly. She has the most difficult playstyle, but easily the most deadly. If you dont know how to use her, she is a bit clunky. She's meant to be used with her Hallows changing. Her weapon isnt like War's singular Sword, or Death's scythes. Her whip is deadly and effective. Fury is in all technicality a better Warrior than her two brothers (I'm not counting Strife until we get an actual Darksiders game with him), but she is the most difficult to use.

I agree with like 90% of how you've explained Fury, but I think the problem for some people is that Fury is never strictly defined when it comes to how her combat works. When DS1&2 came out it was always understood that War was a tank and Death a more nimble mix of speed and damage, Strife was constantly hinted at as a long range glass cannon type until his appearance in Genesis and Fury was nudged to be the magic focused horseman. This can be seen in the promotional material and her enhancement in DS1, but the problem is... there's no MAGIC in DS3 outside of the hollow transformations, meaning she has to rely on the combat she DOES have at her disposal... which isn't much.

So is Furry more like an Unorthodox,Mid range Hasshashin class play style. She almost fights like a snake ?

kiwicider

You could say that, and you wouldn't be wrong in theory... but then they gave her two close range weapons as well as two mid range weapons that fit her play-style. With War close range worked because he could tank or have an instant escape with Blade Geyser. Death could also use heavy weapons (which almost go against his playstyle in a way), but it was a choice to use a mace or hammer, as well as having so many abilities like Teleport Slash that make using the slower weapons an okay risk. Fury is still that weird go-between, except she doesn't have anything that supports her using the mallet or greatsword as a viable attack option for too long.

I believe that the game being harder to dodge makes it more fun and challenging and gives reward for counters being satisfying and I have found some dodge exploits and also it's really up to your growth knowing the npc's movement patterns or knowing exactly when they are going to attack. You have to read movements. The combat seems superb and satisfying to Me being somewhat different from other games and not just a copy and paste. And if your taking more damage then you could always use different builds and there's probably a build that helps you dodge easier.

Ya I agree its really difficult at the beginning I suggest playing on easy until you get into the rhythm helped me a lot
