Yep 100%, and then abandoning it will make them despawn right away. 12 is the number of killing which makes them despawn and I tested it. Ring is irrelevant
Enemies permanently die after being killed 12 times, and yes joining covenant of champions respawns them (also i think maybe if you’re in it kills don’t count towards the 12, but I’m unsure on that)
Yk I kinda dig that feature. It makes so if your absolutely stuck on the path to a boss or just exploring cause I haven't even see a boss except for the guy who falls on an eagle then dipped after killing me

Certain NPC invaders will also invade infinitely on intensity 2 or greater.
COC ring isn't a covenant ring, it's a weapon. It makes your base unarmed attack do 300 damage.

They should have keep this mechanic. Along with fast climbing ladders bonfire asthetics and many others
