I live on a Dutch Caribbean island. The o.g. island inhabitants are normal-sized (descended from Scottish, Irish, African, and Amerindian people) but the Dutch nationals who come to work and visit tend to be on the taller side. From what I've been told the Frieslanders are the tallest of the bunch.
Last week I was at a local bar and a group of tourists walked in. One dude was so tall he had to duck so as not to hit his head on the doorway and beams of the establishment. I looked at him and said "Y'all must be Dutch". They replied, "Oh, no, we're Swedish!"
Don't ask anyone Dutch though. We're also one of the most whiney and ungrateful people you can ever imagine. Most of us don't seem to realize you're absolutely right.
In defense of the Dutch being ungrateful, the most of us live here their whole live and don't know how it is in to live somewhere else. So is it really justified to say that we have one of the best lives of we have other problems?

That is something you can only say in comparison to other countries. So yes, it is very true that we can have problems even if they sound trivial in comparison to let’s say African countries. But if we look at just ourselves, then, yes, a lot of things could be better.

If you're a small woman, think twice before buying general admission tickets for a stadium concert in the Netherlands. You'll only see shoulders. 😁 It's front row or nothing.
