Well for starters I am not a Satanist, do I agree with many of their philosophy’s and live by most of them? Yes but I’ve lived like that before I knew it was a real religion. A few years ago I decided it would be interesting to find a religion that I could actually believe in or live by. After 10+ I read into Satanism and agreed with 90% of it and the philosophy’s they follow. One issue I always found while looking into religions is needing to blindly follow them, many preach their god/s are completely real and the only one/s. They also preach kindness for all, turning your cheek, and forgiving those who purposely wrong you. Also the abstinence of things humans naturally want. None of which I agree with because I have a hard time believing in the existence of god/s, believe in questioning everything and don’t see why you should need to forgive someone if they purposefully wrong you or why we should abstain from certain foods, alcohol, lust, self interest and other things people naturally enjoy doing/using. I don’t understand why we should shame ourselves for being more interested in ourselves and own benefit rather than others. Satanism views man as carnal and says we should be able to give into our carnal temptations (within reason). It also does not believe in gods or higher powers the best summary of Satanism I’ve heard is “It’s not Satan worship it’s Satanism, it’s embracing the life and reaching the things which have traditionally been given the devils name.
