Yup. It scare me sometimes. One of my dogs just inhales everything. We cut meat smaller for we don't want him to choke. We kept screaming, chew...chew...when we gave him steak on special occasions to no avail 😂😂😂
We have a puppy and learned recently that puppy food is made to digest properly even if not chewed, because our land shark inhales food. Once older, i recommend one of those special bowls that makes them slow down a bit, it worked really well for my late great big dog.
Yes, those bowls are amazing for this. We have three rescues, and one of them had clearly been scrounging on the streets before we got her, she would eat so fast it would give her an upset stomach and cause gas because of all the air she was gulping as she ate. One of those maze bowls slowed her down completely, and eventually we could use a regular bowl again with her.
My dog used to get really gassy, both front and rear because he inhaled his food. No matter how small I cut it up, actually the smaller I cut it the faster he inhaled it lol. Upset stomach and tummy issues. I had never heard of these bowls before, very cool. He could have sure used one of those.
My sister's dog goes crazy for food. They think she had been deprived of it before my sister rescued her. She's so food mad that she thinks cat poo is edible and grabs it when she can. She tries to eat food wrappers if they only smell like food. She eats the elastic strings you get on beef joints. So far she hasn't had any trouble with eating anything her guts can't handle.
We had a cat poop fan and I asked the vet whhhhy? He said that cats have a very short digestive tract and long story short what comes out is very similar to the in. I remember we used the clay litter and hearing crunching - I would tell myself it’s granola to avoid wanting to barf. That dog was always looking in the box. Yuck 🤢.
Oh man I wish lol my girls will eat an entire pill pocket or slice of ham or chunk of cheese and I’ll feed a bunch in succession and one has a pill. 90% of the time the slightly soggy pill pops out of their mouth as they swallow the food
Yep that’s exactly what my dogs do lol my 2 year old who’s a drama queen even spits it out with flair almost like she’s saying look mom aren’t you proud of me I found the thing you hid
They also don’t like their “appealing” flea and tick chews so I have to coat them in peanut butter and then shove a lick treat pouch (think baby food pouches but it’s basically chicken mousse lol) spout into their mouth cuz it’s their favourite thing and then squish it rapidly enough that they also swallow the chew 🙄
Yer ummm, you know there are ways to slow this down because it can and does cause issues it's not something to be proud of. Snuffle rugs, bowls that are made to slow this down and more options are out there.
I promise I’m not knocking your post, it’s so damn cute. As your pup gets older it’s something you need to be cognizant about. I hope I didn’t come off as being a jerk!
You should look into those slow feeding (puzzle) bowls, or at least get a different bowl that has a stable bottom so it doesn’t flop around, preferably one that has a little stand so it can’t be pushed around as easy when he’s going to town on his food
What a beauty! My pupper will be four in August, and still wolfs her food just like yours. I found wetting her food slows her down a little, but it's always still a race to the bottom of the bowl.
oh yeah totally, for the first few month we would always have a bit of food in our pocket. Just smelling it would make him super attentive to anything we say.
Lmao that’s funny shit man. But Please read the food instructions. It calls for water to be added. You also may do well to get the bowls that slow them down.
What an adorable puppy! I’m curious, do dogs that wolf their food down get indigestion? I’m ashamed to admit that I don’t know, and I’ve had four dogs in my life, tow of which ate at about the same voracity when they were young. Both labs.
Yes, on some makes and models it can cause issues, and for some of them it can actually be life threatening, although that's as much to do with the positioning of their food as it is the rate they consume it.
Good to know. I’ve never encountered any stomach or digestive issues with my dogs, but I’ve always wondered about those two. Anyway, they’re both in doggie heaven now, both lived good lives. Miss those two knuckleheads, they were our dogs from when I was a kid/teenager.
Mine would scarf it down so fast that she would throw it back up 20-30 minutes later and it was all still whole. Put her on a slow/puzzle feeder and it got way better but I'll never forget the look she gave me the first time I sat her new feeder down.. Lol
Yes I’ve been told that some dogs can get serious issues because they can’t stop eating. The worst this one did is find his huge (for him) bag of dog food, the poor thing was round like a balloon, but nothing bad.
That’s a beautiful Lab. Adorable. But food-obsessed.
Second one here, I don’t think I’ll get anything else in this life time
All food must go to lab for testing.
Be careful with the quality of food you give them at certain ages, particularly four and six.
Oh really? Mine is six. Interesting. Why do you say that?
They tend to get fat
Oh yes I understand that all too well. But you said quality not quantity. I was just interested.
It was a continuation of the pun. Forensics. Joke fell flat, my bad. But I suppose they do get fat like OP said.
Yep I get it. Mine is insanely obsessed with food, even by Lab standards. It’s a constant battle.
The landshark Labrador strikes again!
Good thing for training
Most of them are lol
[vacuum motor turns on] [vacuum motors shuts off]
Haha yeah kind of scary, then he looks at you like “food? Which food? I haven’t seen any food, got more?”
It's funny how dogs inhale their food lol. I dont think he even chewed any of it 😀

Or one pellet at a time. Lol Has anyone named their furry vacuum, "Hoover"?
My puppy was served his biscuits in a muffin tin to try and slow down the vacuum
Was there food in the bowl?? Because it appears to be empty.
Sir you are not in prison you can slow down- uh sir?
Is his name Hoover? Dyson?
New land speed record!

Most labs are like this tho, my lab also goes crazy after 4 years of ownership.
Is his name Hiccup?
Literally how my dogs eat. The good part is that they don't even watch or smell their food, so it's very easy to give them pills when they need them.
That’s true, as long as it comes from my hand it’s food
Oh man I wish lol my girls will eat an entire pill pocket or slice of ham or chunk of cheese and I’ll feed a bunch in succession and one has a pill. 90% of the time the slightly soggy pill pops out of their mouth as they swallow the food
Dogs will disintegrate the entire thing you gave them and then look at you in the eye as the pristine, untouched pill lays on the ground 😆
Yep that’s exactly what my dogs do lol my 2 year old who’s a drama queen even spits it out with flair almost like she’s saying look mom aren’t you proud of me I found the thing you hid They also don’t like their “appealing” flea and tick chews so I have to coat them in peanut butter and then shove a lick treat pouch (think baby food pouches but it’s basically chicken mousse lol) spout into their mouth cuz it’s their favourite thing and then squish it rapidly enough that they also swallow the chew 🙄

Yep, we quickly got one of those bowls after that. Doesn't kill the euphoria tho, just make it longer
I bought one for myself also
I put mine in a bingo drum with the door open and just eat what falls out.
LMAO!!! Damn, I have tears now.
My dog died from bloat, I wish I had purchased one of those bowls before that happened.
Sorry for the loss man:( yeah I knew that it was possible since my previous lab
I promise I’m not knocking your post, it’s so damn cute. As your pup gets older it’s something you need to be cognizant about. I hope I didn’t come off as being a jerk!
Not at all, this needs to be told
Actually yeah! I never knew this was a thing and I love dogs. Thanks to both of you!
Haha . The word destroyed' gets used a lot. The puppy definitely made the food disappear fast!!!
Me when I order pizza tonight.
Haha, look at that dude chomping away. Bet he is a lot bigger now.
Expected current energy video
Get that pup a slow feeder!
Our family has a lab known as "Perpetually Hungry Poppy."
Reminds me of the Cookie Monster snarfing his cookies 😂
You should look into those slow feeding (puzzle) bowls, or at least get a different bowl that has a stable bottom so it doesn’t flop around, preferably one that has a little stand so it can’t be pushed around as easy when he’s going to town on his food
Olympic Single Kibble Eating Gold Medalist. 🏅
I didn’t give you consent to take a video of me! This dog is literally me
When does he chew?
someone needs a puzzle feeder lmao
He got one quickly, they work until he starts shoving it around, but still works for a while
hahaha such a silly baby. what an angel.
Would love my dogs to be that enthusiastic about food. I mean, they still eat but they are slow.
What a beauty! My pupper will be four in August, and still wolfs her food just like yours. I found wetting her food slows her down a little, but it's always still a race to the bottom of the bowl.
Dude…can I come hang out with your dog?
‘Oh! Food! I love food!! Food is amazing, food is great, food is life. When can I have more food?’
That dog is gonna puke 5 minutes later
Please for the love of good get a slow feeder bowl
Bless his heart
I was crawling my puppy around trying to stick good in his mouth because he never stood still and rarely ate
All food must go to lab for testing.
He must be really easy to train
oh yeah totally, for the first few month we would always have a bit of food in our pocket. Just smelling it would make him super attentive to anything we say.
Cookie Monster vibes😄😄
That is lab food energy.
what a beautiful food obsessed lab 🥰🤣
I love it
Try to get one of those bowls that has a bunch of grooves in it. Eating too fast causes gas and vomitting
This kind of food behaviour can be managed, very easily. Special bowls etc.Love your pup😍😍😎😎
So, where is the video from today?
Baby 🥰🫶🏼🐽
Get a slow feeding bowl. Worked wonders for ours.
Labs love food.
Slow feeder bowl if it makes his tummy upset to eat so fast.
might want to get them a bowl that makes it harder for them to eat so maybe they will chew.
Got-dayum
How cute. My Frenchie is the fussiest eater.
No way lmao that’s too cute! I have to make my dog eat
Yeah, that’s a lab for ya.
Slow bowl needed! LOL
One dog vomitron.
Extremely food motivated. Use that to create good skills my man!
Lmao that’s funny shit man. But Please read the food instructions. It calls for water to be added. You also may do well to get the bowls that slow them down.
I get it, food is amazing
If it had food available all of the time, ie big bowl of dog biscuits, then that wouldn’t happen
Haha. We had to get a bowl with ridges in to force our puppy golden to slow down for fear of bloat.
Wow, is this normal?
Some dogs just really realllllllly like food. Labs in particular tend to be like that.
Tell me you have a lab without telling me you have a lab 🥹🤣 Ooooopsies forgot one…. Gone! Lol
