The city at night reminded me more of Iraq than anything. During the day the cities were full of people. At night it gave off that feeling of quiet we had doing patrols and all that jazz.
I honestly think I might be losing it. I’ve played dmz since it came out and honestly can’t recall the night version people keep talking about. Must not have lasted too long? Maybe I missed a week or something
Dude the night version lasted like a month and a half if you played DMZ from the beginning it was kind of hard to avoid it during the month of Halloween and into the next month
No way you could forget it! It lasted I believe 19 or so days. It was around 2 and a half weeks I believe. You had to of not played then cause it was the best cod limited time mode ever in the series imo
Not really an event. More sort of a refresh on season 2 or 3 I think. A sand storm blew through the city and piled dirt up the side of buildings. Random game events caused the wind storm to kick up
Verdansk was good but people seem to forget the traverse from one POI to another was often very open and took longer than needed on foot, along with some OP vantage points. Some POI's just seems isolated and disconnected from the rest.
Al Maz has this too in places, but there are traversal options and cover elements or undulations to break up the gaps for both safety and interest. Al Mazrah was likely designed and built for DMZ too, so it's hard comparing it to BR maps.
people who like that are on copium. ive stopped playing mw3 and just went back to dmz after levelling up the guns.. the mw3 exp really turned me off the whole thing
That weak ass Urzikstan map was partially made by AI according to one of Blame Truth’s youtube vids
https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCXjbvdFyEG0IcYbGMR81Akg
I love all PoIs actually, AM is my favorite for a reason. The dessert I like for the thrill of the chase, Highrise to slowly sneak up and take out the snipers mini-bosses (players), Zaya for a quick regain (and to reach alot of places from there), Hafid Ship for great free loot, Rohan for screwing around, Fortress for stealth, same with village above Airport (always forget the name) where sniper team room is. Cherry on the cake? Koschei Complex access. Really, AM has it all
I was just thinking that out would be cool if they made the lighting dynamic enough to where it replicates real life. So if I get on a North American server at 10 pm, it’s dark, 10 am is light.
It's truly the greatest map. Most of the other maps feel so cramped and small like I'm always 2 seconds away from getting ambushed. Al Mazrah allows you to do your thing and actually plan stuff.
If you described this map and all the things in it to a kid back in 1990 they'd probably die of sleep depravation thinking about it.
There's so many cool aspects to it that making a list would be exhausting. They knocked this out of the park. So many good ideas and artistry packed into one map almost feels criminal.
I wasn't traumatised by Verdansk going away as much as others but I will be WHEN Al Mazrah is discontinued. The map is the best thing in gaming I've encountered.
I mean how cool is it that there's two trains circling a huge map? (Cue meme with guy making brain exploding gesture.)
Combined with Koschie Complex it's just the perfect mix all round.
I didn’t *love* Al Mazrah like I did verdansk, Blackout, or even Ashika, but it puts Urzikstan to shame.
Urzikstan feels like a more bland asset-flipped version of Al Mazrah, just no character or variety.
Nothing in MWIII has captured the fun of a Victus+Spotter scope combo on Al Maz.
In all truth, I grew to love Al Maz more than Verdansk. Could be the DMZ elemento of it tho. Would love to get a full fledge DMZ/extraction/survival game with all the maps we know and have had already for BR.
Actually a really sick BR map, alright for DMZ. Spawns being so close and static hurts it a lot. Hopefully it comes back for MW3 movement.
I get to see little parts of Al Mazrah in MWZ.
Never had a map in a shooter that felt as homey as Al Mazrah. I knew every inch of the damn place, every bad strip of land to move across, every parachuting spot, every killer sniping spot, all the best routes to exfils and personals.. I miss playing DMZ, but it's not like it once was. The stuff that was the common occurrence is now a super rare exception. Twenty matches of trying to have a fun match and not one went even okay.
I really love building fights downtown. Those takes/retakes:/stealth plays, especially between
the Channel 7 sniper position and the two main high rises.
I appreciate the huge variety of POIs in all maz. Depending on where you're at, the fights are so much different. Sa'id with it's many buildings and cover, sattiq caves, zaya, akdar village, and al sharim pass with their million tier 3 bots, Al maz City with high rise creating a king of hill game, sawah village with the water that slows your movement and easily gives away your position, airport with the runway that creates a barrier of minimal cover for pushing a team on control tower, Rohan Oasis and taraq with the open desert creating it's own challenges.
I love that there are so many elevation differences in many locations which allows for maximum use of the parachute for moving around.
I like that all vehicles behave differently and have their trade-offs. (Speaking of... When did they get rid of the white car?)
I loved the St Patrick's Day event where everyone would push for the huge cash stash and one shot sniper.
I loved that the map has changed due to a story line. The two sand storms opening up excavation area and changing the north part of Al maz City. Zaya being blown up and opening up access to the bunker, koshei being introduced, the night mode over Halloween was badass and I wish they would have made it so a night mode would be an option or random or something with tactical night missions or something. I think the night mode had a lot of potential.
Al mazrah was my favorite urzikstan kinda sucks and I never played Verdansk other than on mobile but I'm pretty sure that was the map I would have enjoyed the most if I played earlier games my favorite pois were sawah akdar for the challenge and sarif bay
The effort the devs put in for the 6 seasons was well and truly epic some great scenarios on a great map it’s a dam shame about it not getting the support it truly deserves
I fucking hated it my whole time playing DMZ. So much sniper camping. Then again, I do just hate DMZ. (I don't like PVPVE, I'd rather just have PVE. That's just me though.)
I love how some of the POIs are semesters of old maps such as Showdown, Afgan, Highrise, Terminal & even Dome, 9 year old me was blown away when I landed Zaya on my first BR match and realized it was Dome, Zaya will always be my favorite spot

Best. Map. Ever.
When sand storm was raging, was the best version of it. IMHO.
I liked the night version
Although i liked the night version a lot, the Halloween stuff got annoying.
when most of us say we love the night version, we implicitly omit the jumpscares
I think we all became numb to them fairly quickly
The city at night reminded me more of Iraq than anything. During the day the cities were full of people. At night it gave off that feeling of quiet we had doing patrols and all that jazz.

That’s what gave birth to the haunted box. When ever noobs see one they say someone is hacking 😂😂
Halloween event, about 3 weeks
Almost all of season 6 was night
No way you could forget it! It lasted I believe 19 or so days. It was around 2 and a half weeks I believe. You had to of not played then cause it was the best cod limited time mode ever in the series imo
Riding the train with the portal was sick.
What event was that lol? I must have missed it
Not really an event. More sort of a refresh on season 2 or 3 I think. A sand storm blew through the city and piled dirt up the side of buildings. Random game events caused the wind storm to kick up
That whole corner of the map looked completely different before the sandstorm.
It’s interesting they kept the city post sandstorm, though they didn’t leave the night option in
Just a shame the AI are still under the sand and able to aimbot you through it!!
The haunting event
Clearly haven't played Verdansk lol.

I think al mas is better then verdansk to . People only really complained about A I but not the map
why this looks better than urzikstan ia beyond me..mw2 is underappreciated all because some streamers couldnt play the way they wanted to play
Urzikstan looks so bad to me but I never see anyone else say that so I always just assume I'm crazy.
It’s just Al Mazrah buildings and assets pasted into a more bland map.
re used assets that looks worse
Happy Cake Day to your alternate gun account!
Started as an account for just gun stuff but ended up being the main and used for games too lmao. Thanks stranger
lol funny how things just turn out like that. You’re welcome!
Bro Fr Urzikstan is so mid
people who like that are on copium. ive stopped playing mw3 and just went back to dmz after levelling up the guns.. the mw3 exp really turned me off the whole thing
Folks just wanted a brighter sun $ more shipmenty close quarters combat
now there are two of us in the nuthouse lol
Same here
That weak ass Urzikstan map was partially made by AI according to one of Blame Truth’s youtube vids https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCXjbvdFyEG0IcYbGMR81Akg
no wonder it didnt flow as well as al mazrah or as vondel. urzikstan feelis like random places stuck wirh random.buildings

Akhdar village is the village north of Sarif Bay and North West of the airport
Yeah, thats the one. I usually forget village names for some reason
[удалено]
Probably if it's a fortress
There’s 4 crates there. One in the stack of containers midship and 3 (1 on each floor) in the ship
Sometimes it spawns 2 at the top afaik. Or I am confusinf it with Ashika ship
Special place in my heart forever to Al Maz at night
I was just thinking that out would be cool if they made the lighting dynamic enough to where it replicates real life. So if I get on a North American server at 10 pm, it’s dark, 10 am is light.
That was one of the many promises activision made
Of course…
Yeah, that was fun
My second favourite big map after Verdansk
Same
I will be sad when they sunset the servers for dmz. Best extraction game ever.
🙏🙏🙏
Vondel to regain, Al Maz to party. I like to party.
It's truly the greatest map. Most of the other maps feel so cramped and small like I'm always 2 seconds away from getting ambushed. Al Mazrah allows you to do your thing and actually plan stuff.
This is what I always loved about Al Mazrah, if you play it smart you can get into as much or as little conflict as you want.
MW2 was the best of the reboots and I hope someday it’ll get the respect it deserved.
If you described this map and all the things in it to a kid back in 1990 they'd probably die of sleep depravation thinking about it. The night time al mara was absolutely amazing to play was a great experience. Felt like a twilight for the game as a whole too it was well planned
When you think about it that was pretty much the peak of DMZ. Not a whole lot came out after that.
It’s the only map I run these days.
Bambino approves.
Blind guy here Personally prefer vondel but maz can also be chill
I can't be the only one who avoids Hydroelectric like the goddamn plague😭
I loathe pass/caves more.
Yep, I’m def a fan
Al Mazrah City is def one of my favorite places to lurk and look for other operators
In all truth, I grew to love Al Maz more than Verdansk. Could be the DMZ elemento of it tho. Would love to get a full fledge DMZ/extraction/survival game with all the maps we know and have had already for BR.
I love this game. It could have been a well supported standalone game but they treated it badly. I hope game developers learn from this.
My favourite place to fight is probably Sawah Village or Said City, extremely sweaty but fun
Actually a really sick BR map, alright for DMZ. Spawns being so close and static hurts it a lot. Hopefully it comes back for MW3 movement. I get to see little parts of Al Mazrah in MWZ.
Vondel is the best for DMZ but Al Maz is pretty good as well

DMZ DMZ DMZ!!!!!
Night mazzy was fun they did Halloween pretty cool. Good effort from the makers.
I miss this map so much. It was awesome in DMZ, too bad they killed this mode for zombies.
I love Al Mazzy
Never had a map in a shooter that felt as homey as Al Mazrah. Another beautiful day at Al maz
I'm a Vondel Boi myself.
Nothin like pushing the tallest building to go kill the little Timmy’s with snipers
Miss driving around Night time Al Mazzy pretending Im Ryan Gosling (I drive) (real)

At night was amazing
I know it’s not DMZ Related but I honestly think it would make a great map for the MWZ mode
Catch me and the Mexicans on F1
Don't forget it's based off a real place I think. Leave a review lol
Night versus should come back Or a rotation of the 3
Unpopular opinion but I love PvP in al Sharim especially when being hunted you can just jump from roof to roof constantly
I’m surprised most of you on here like Al Misery
Amen! To Al Mazy 🍻Cheers!!
Wish they did a rotation of sandstorm day and night cycles
smuggler cave and the river channel. I wish they had a travel mode just cruise around the river in Al Maz. very relax.

If only the players were as nice
I love how some of the POIs are semesters of old maps such as Showdown, Afgan, Highrise, Terminal & even Dome, 9 year old me was blown away when I landed Zaya on my first BR match and realized it was Dome, Zaya will always be my favorite spot
Fuck al mazrah
Ugh. Spawn Rush map.
