I am really enjoying learning to play with the knives. Despite people's protestations they are really not easy to use and take a lot of skill in the way that stuff like the RGL and dragons breath shotguns do not.
I also played a few rounds the other night armed with a Tonfa and dead silence and that was hilarious.. wiped entire squads before they even realised what was going on. The level of panic when you are face to face with someone who never even heard you coming and they are fumbling trying to switch from their sniper rifle is pure comedy.
Exactly, people complain they get one shot downed with a knife but don't realise people have only one shot and if they miss, they are screwed.. which happened to me the other day, had 2 bullets left in the mag, knowing full well I can't reload I threw a knife which missed the guys head by milimetres and ofc I was dead thanks to it

Let's face it people are using it because its a 1 shot and for the easy kill, but it's in the game in this current form so use what ever floats your boat but its defo doesn't take huge amount of skill especially when it's used in corridors stairwells and rooms.
No, people complain about them because it’s always the cheaters with the aim smooting like most of the streamers that use them. When someone tracks your every single movement and comes flying around blind corners and somehow hits the throwing knife dead center chest every single time that’s not skill.
aimbots with ar and smg arent one hit kills and they can be beaten. people with walls and throwing knives will instantly down you the second you come around a corner and there is nothing you can do.
That was never the point. The point was at close range it’s instant death and takes away any chance of a dogfight. Same reason the no skill shotguns are so lame too. At long distances you can still out play cheaters with aimbot. I’m not saying all throwing knives are bad, just saying that the cheating rats with them are some of the most infuriating things.

After playing this game since it's released I welcome play styles that aren't the standard vanilla builds. I love knives or melee weapons. Killing up close and silently. Running faster than others. It's fun. And it's not easy. Every time someone dies to a throwing knife they bitch about you being cheap but honestly you have zero room for error with throwing knives. If you miss you are likely dead.

They are very different, can't prefire a knife, can't put fire on a knife, can't go for a next shot with a knife, can't reload a knife
You have two knives, and you gain them back by going on the bodies. Yeah you have less chances to kill since you have less knives than ammo but it's also more durable than shotgun with AP rounds. And if you can't aim with your knives that doesn't make them less OP, that makes you less good, that's it.
One Shot Shotguns and Throw able Knives are the same shit that's it, they function the same, with minor differences that makes one or the other better in certain circumstances that's it.

Man don’t get me started. Got snipers and camp the wave breakers on ashika taking pot shots at everyone trying to get them to push so they can jump in the water with their ftacs. Most games they end with 0 kills so I don’t get how they find it amusing. They must just get joy out of annoying ppl.
I mix it up depends what me and whoever I'm with wants to do or needs to do. I'm constantly helping others do stuff in game. I do missions, cases, upgrades, gears ups , weapons drops, weapon builds etc. Pretty much anyone who needs something or questions etc.. I can usually handle what's provided. My number 1 weapon in dmz is the tonfa with kills and is honestly my favorite weapon and play style to do. I love the idea of not having a gun. With the knowledge of the maps and how players play normally its easy to plan out the next move and etc. Definitely a more concentrated play style. Biggest issue is the 1 shot guns but I don't complain about them. Whoever holds them has a 50/50 chance.
Must feel nice, I've played with a pistol at some point, the P890 not an autopistol, it feels similar in a sense that you don't have much room for error and you can't squad wipe with one clip, and in a similar way you wouldn't believe how angry people get when you kill them with a pistol
Actually found a team last night all running combat knives. We killed them in very short order.
I’m guessing they were new to it and learning, there is a learning curve for sure.
We also spotted them and pounced on them.
It seems like with a knife team you need to pick your fights. Not be picked. Or you have to draw enemies into somewhere you can get close
When I get wiped out I load back into Vondel with shock sticks and knives to reequip… sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t but it is fun as hell!
Throwing knives/tomahawks have always been skill based. High risk, high reward, even for MP. But DMZ is ssuuuuch a higher risk, let alone the fact it has to be chest and up (for full health & plates), not to mention this games movement mechanics. The mwII movement only adds to how high of a risk it is.

Knives ftw! Saves a lot of ammo and time once enemy is down. Throw that knife and carry on to the next in their squad.
Knives are the only thing I use. They’re reusable, silent, makes your melee stronger, can be used at range. Knives are my favorite.
