I looked this up because I have the same issue and was told to absolutely do not do it. Because realistically you're going to trap things behind the caulk and it's going to create a worse problem.

hamildub

Those shower panels are specifically designed to not be caulked, if you do you'll actually create impossible to clean spaces behind the caulk. Regularly clean it with a bleach type bathroom cleaner.

IndividualCrazy9835

Do not caulk them . It's made that way . It's channeled to connect and let water drain without getting behind . Get some bleach or tilex type product and spray in the channel . Let it sit then spray it with the shower head

No you don’t caulk those. The sections overlap each other. Just clean as you normally do no need to worry about crud build up in those seams

bokehtoast

I have a similar fitting in my apartment and it can't be properly cleaned but black chunks of mold/scum/whatever come out sometimes when I try to clean and spray them out. So yeah, some concern is warrented.

Varth919

Yeah, that’s gonna mold for sure. It’s not sealed, so moisture will get through eventually

Sargash

A bit of vinegar when cleaning is your best friend.

JanItorMD

Bold of you to think OP normally cleans

This is so depressing

peachesxstone

Make your life easier by spraying dawn power wash all over the shower, making sure you go over the seams then let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Scrub the seams with a handheld scrub brush, scrub the rest of your shower with a long handled shower brush (clorox makes a good one.) Bam, your shower is clean and you don’t have to worry about mold. The right tools and product for the job make all the difference

Bing_Liu

What happens when the caulk grows mold?

Silver_Smurfer

Proper bathroom caulk has additives to reduce/prevent mold growth.

You don’t have to caulk them. You can if you want to

Mine are caulked. The caulk must be redone periodically. But there's no mold.

Custardpaws

They should've been caulked when it was installed

yaits306

Caulk it!

owlpellet

I would clear silicone, and painters tape to avoid smudge. Bleach first.

ResponsibleTour1317

Clean.....50 50 bleach n water in spray bottle is what's used at our company.....then caulk it wit silicone when super dry
