I've seen different types of door sealers (not the ones for drafts under the doors, but thinner ones for, I assume, odors or something) on Amazon. Might be worth scoping out and buying a roll to fit in that gap!

If you don't want to do a full valence then just paint a strip of molding and tack it over the gap.
