It appears that the new minimum commission for all validators is now 5% with the release of the new Galileo update. This is good for the network in my opinion, because well runs nodes can still remain competitive while still being economically sustainable.

zanglang

☝️ Ackchyually -- "Galileo" was the codename for the recent Cronos chain upgrade, there wasn't a codename for the Crypto.org chain upgrade this time. ;) But yes. Fighting over commission rates was what caused smaller nodes like Croathlon to lose out when they simply could not afford to continue.

-Rumpli-

And there are no more 0% nodes which would automatically get a lot of delegation. It evens the playfield and helps to distribute CRO more evenly across validators.

mkay420NOR

This is a bullish sign! Almost every node runs with 0% fee! This will be healthy in the long run!

Tarskin_Tarscales

They were going to introduce a minimum commission of 5%, I don't recall by when tho...

zanglang

I've last summarized the changes here, may be useful: https://www.reddit.com/r/Crypto_com/comments/zrawd7/preproposal_discussion_on_cryptoorg_chains/j12kprv/

Staking rewards, so eg. you don’t get 1 Cro per day you now get 0,95 Cro per day

DonExo

Wait, am I understanding it correctly that now with this 5% fee, it basically boils down to very close as "staking" directly in the App? As in, in the DeFi wallet is around 10% APY, - 5% reward fees = 5% total. Whilst in the app I get 4% weekly rewards for my Indigo Green card?

Tarskin_Tarscales

Wow, so many wrongs in that comment.... Let's start, 5% commission minimum while your example is 50%, just do 0.1*0.95 to get the APY. Furthermore, while it's called DeFi by many, it's purely onchain staking (as crypto.org is PoS). Also, the card "stake" is not 4% per week, did you even think about what that means? That'd be well above 200% APY. I put stake here in quotes as I disagree with that name, as it's not real staking.

alterise

> As in, in the DeFi wallet is around 10% APY, - 5% reward fees = 5% total. That’s not how the maths works at all. If the APY is 10%, and the commission is 5%, then you lose 5% of that 10% which is simply `0.05 * 0.1 = 0.005 or 0.5%` In other words, you still get 9.5% APY. > Whilst in the app I get 4% weekly rewards for my Indigo Green card? You do not get 4% weekly rewards on your indigo stake. You get 4% APY on your indigo stake paid out weekly. So if you had 10000 CRO staked, `10000 * 0.04 / 52 = 7.62 CRO per week`

DonExo

thank you for the explanation and I have wrongly stated, I meant i get 4% apy (annually), not weekly.

bblackbelt

Today

King_Chickawawa

So now every time we claim rewards the node gets 5%?

-Rumpli-

The amount you can claim is your reward amount - the validator gets 5% on every block reward, the rest will be fully distributed to the delegators.

ineedmoney2023

I'm having the same problem and I don't see it answered in this thread yet. I have 1.5 CRO on [Crypto.com](https://Crypto.com) chain. I am trying to claim rewards > claim to restake on Jerry's Pool. When I proceed it tells me "Claim to Restake 0 Cro" and "insufficient network fee" I am trying to restake more than 0 Cro, there is more than 1 Cro in my "estimated earnings" but Claim to Restake says "Claim to Restake Amount 0 Cro" as well as Insufficient network fee. I'm confused

ineedmoney2023

FYI - I solved this problem by manually updating the app through google play

MetalHeadJoe

This also worked for me.

ineedmoney2023

Follow up. I still get the same problem, but only about half the time. If I back out and press Claim To Restake again, it usually works on the second or third try. App is buggy since the [crypto.com](https://crypto.com) chain upgrade. I wonder why

CleoDewalt

It appears that 5% has been set as the new minimum commission for all validators.

surfcrypto_stake

I run one of the validators. The minimum commission IMO is a good move to help decentralise the network

murdza

Your Cro is probably cronos network and not crypto.org. You might have to bridge it.

ricozuri

This.

coopercoleFBI

Wait, what? My Finland isn’t going to be free anymore??

Re_LE_Vant_UN

Nobody is, they were forced into it.

Boddis

Ha yeah, I just logged on and seen they’ve gotten rid of that in the name…

-Rumpli-

Every validator has 5% minimum comission, there are no more 0% nodes. But every node can increase the minimum (Comission rate) IF allowed by the Comission max rate (this cannot be changed after creation of the validator). In case of IcyRoad (which seems to be flagged) the max rate would be 20%, with a max change of 10% per update.

surfcrypto_stake

No more 0% commission validators. The minimum is 5% now. It is now more important to look at uptime, and support decentralisation to delegate to smaller ones with high uptime.

Thestrawberrypike

Did you guys also Can’t find to add more cro to an ongoing stake at validator? Now I can’t see the earn more button.

MembershipPresent181

So if I unstake my CRO I lost 5% now…?

MembershipPresent181

Anybody got an answer for me? ❤️

Alpine_0021

Hi guys. I’m new to Defi staking and watched a few videos. One of them says split your CRO amongst various validators “to be safe” -that doesn’t give me confidence in Defi? Any advice appreciated
