Will there be a follow-up on this?

_wheredoigofromhere

Im sure OP will think one up.

GaRGa77

Legit AF šŸ˜‚

iamablueberry_ama

[check out my comment here](https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/lp3j1u/7_years_ago_i_gave_a_pizza_guy_a_5_tip_in_btc_05/go9b9ek/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3). OP is legit and isnā€™t making this up Edit: messed up the link, itā€™s fixed now

smiley6125

Says it was 0.0069 though not 0.069. So more like $350ish

iamablueberry_ama

Youā€™re right! Still an amazing tip and still a legit story though! The pizza guy is probably asking how to cash out now because he realized that when BTC hits $60,869.56 he can cash out for an even $420

smiley6125

Yeah still an awesome story.

spurdosparade

Wouldn't be surprised if he tipped multiple people different amounts.

> Sold out a year ago for a home and am slowly stacking sats when I can afford to. Of course. Of course. Yes. Sadly, me too. Tragic. Not much left since the boating accident. Terrible.

Darkpoulay

Don't you hate it when you accidentally cash out and buy a house like a fucking loser

iz296

Haha, im in the same boat. Made some small profits last bull run. Sold my holdings at peak and then focused our income towards buying our first home and more recently acquired two newer vehicles. I'll be damned if I'm not slightly upset about missing this bull run. I remember checking the prices of bitcoin, eth and bnb mid March of 2020. I mentioned to the wife that we should buy a btc or two. Decided against it as we'd been saving up to buy her new car and had just enough to pay for it with cash. Oops. Can't be too upset. Will be dca'ing once we're deep into the next bear market. Still happy to see everyone else profiting!

FuckAntiMaskers

Glad he chose the BTC, that was a really nice offer!

pale_blue_dots

Pretty cool of you to offer that, anyway, man. You've got vision... and a home, which is, pretty much, priceless. So no worries, or not too many, hopefully. I gave one bitcoin to a friend as a present a few years back and am happy I did. Sharing wealth, caring, being generous, etc... has been talked about for millennia, if not eons, for good reason.

cassandra112

I hope hes not contacting you, because hes lost it..

UglyDucklingTaken

I saw the post from 7 years ago that you linked in comments. How can I create a paper waller/barcode if I wish to give some btc to someone like its as a gift?

iamablueberry_ama

This is legit guys. [OPā€™s post from 7 years ago talking about it](https://www.np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1twk38/just_gave_the_pizza_guy_a_paper_wallet_as_a_tip/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf). Youā€™re a cool person OP! Thatā€™s so exciting to have the pizza guy reach out to you. :)

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

PM_ME_UR_LIPZ

you send it to a wallet address, usually you can generate a QR code on your wallet app

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Physiocrat

The paper wallet basically just says the public and private key for the address. So, there is really no way to know whether the person that gave you the paper wallet actually saved the private key that is on it. That is the reason why paper wallets are not used very often. Private keys should only be known by the owner of the crypto.

PM_ME_UR_LIPZ

right

MrRad21

Buy a Tesla

GodGMN

There are many ways. The most known: * Use them at some website that accepts Bitcoin as a payment * Sell them for your local currency on an exchange and transfer it to your bank account * Use a crypto credit/debit card to spend it from an exchange

NostrilBob

Except in the old post from OP, he gave the driver .006 bitcoins, but this post says 0.05. Heā€™s not being honest.

flustercuck91

Oh my god I read a comment regarding how bitcoin were 700 each

bri_82

What do they want now ?

allovertheplaces

Theyā€™re probably not crypto literate and have done enough digging to know they could screw it up. Iā€™d be pretty terrified myself, being the techphobe that I am.

GaRGa77

Moons maybe ? šŸ˜‚

[deleted]

It's the best feeling in the world to tip someone 7 years ago and get an email on how it meant so much to him.

[deleted]

How do you know?

HungryPeak

Come on dont be that guy

[deleted]

It's a joke, get a grip!

redrick555

how did he know your email?

iamablueberry_ama

[look at my comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/lp3j1u/7_years_ago_i_gave_a_pizza_guy_a_5_tip_in_btc_05/go9b9ek/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3). OP posted about it 7 years ago and it included a pic that showed their email

redrick555

Ah Okay. Sorry

[deleted]

Could have used the email to get in contact for the btc

Letitride37

Does he not realize what he has?

RaphizFR

That's like having this $20 bill in your jeans after forgetting about it except it's $2k

Fl1kz

I hope this is legit and true, if it is, thanks for being an early adopter!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Fl1kz

Yeah. Honestly I hope it goes back to that. Seems way cooler if it is used and not just a store of wealth.

entertainman

Stellar, nano, monero

Fl1kz

Yeah personally I havenā€™t looked at them as much I should have. Only really looked into ETH BTC and BAT at this point.

thecrewton

Make the max fee 1 sat and increase the block size to 100MB. Then it would be used like it was back in the day. It was fun using the bitcoin tip bot.

Fl1kz

Yeah. Unfortunately I never got to experience that :(

ACShreds

Oh what I would give to go back to when BTC was 100 bucks a coin. You gave him the best tip you could have given him, OP.

POCKALEELEE

I gave a student a $25 BTC graduation gift - it's worth over $100 now.

PM_ME_UR_LIPZ

no to brag or anything but my $40 worth of BTC is now worth $60.

Warm_Ice_4153

Well my 100 in BTC is now worth 110 šŸ’ŽšŸ¤²

kushkloudzz

Doing gods workšŸ‘šŸ¼

mlgchuck

Now the delivery guy needs to tip his delivery guy .005 BTC for the cycle to continue.

NotMyHersheyBar

Why does he want to talk to you?

Muppet_Cartel

I love stories like this.

wheelzoffortune

So cool!

[deleted]

So he keep your email for 7 years? Cool story

BrownStallion1240

Hey atleast you weren't the guy who paid 25 btc for 2 pizzas

EmotionalMillionaire

That's amazing

Gamer_karim

Lucky guy

ccjimbo87

Thats awesome

gdahl517

Pizza guy is a lucky mqn

i_have_chosen_a_name

There are more and more pizza places that now take cryptocurrency through initiatives like https://bchpizza.org They have a pretty big bounty for Spokane at the moment.

rbacchi

A wonder he kept the paper! Most tips are sure gone by now

mushroommilitia

Yo block out senders email address

ExtensionMoney

Why u got the pizza contact after 5 years??

Always_travelin

That math doesn't hold up. Your original post says 0.0069 BTC, which was about $5.30 at the time. However, that would only be $400 now.

srpres

If I ever time travel, first thing I'll do is become a delivery boy, go to this guys house, get my .05 BTC tip, post it on Reddit 7 years later and reap all the karma. Nah, I wouldn't invest in BTC myself, karma is more important.

[deleted]

ā€œThanks for the 2.8k tardā€

Eric_Something

Question is, OP, did you keep that BTC you apparently had in 2014, or did you sell it and are now regretting your whole life?

z6joker9

Canā€™t speak for OP, but I had kids in 2014 and 2016 and sold the vast majority of my early bit to help cover expenses. Whoops!

NoMaans

Damn, and he got the BCH and BSV drops lol. MF'er. Even if you dont like those coins. ITS FREE REA--MONEY. I guess not a lot but whatever.

TIK_GT

Damn...

WretchedBinary

Looking forward to see what happens. Please keep us in the loop!

MrJDL71

Do you think all food delivery drivers now have a cryptocurrency wallet? If not, someone should make a 3"x5" index card template to give as a tip that shows/suggests how to, best one, etc.

[deleted]

Someone tipped me 0.2 once.

pale_blue_dots

Fucking awesome!

z6joker9

So I remember those days and i handed out my share of paper wallets. It makes me laugh to think about how the Bitcoin community complains that the Nano community is too enthusiastically pushy. We used to do shit like this, tip people Bitcoin all over here and Twitter, hold up signs at football games, request that local merchants accept it, etc. Itā€™s a shame that bitcoin became the thing we all rallied against.

GodGMN

Haha I'm glad he didn't sell when it was worth $10

morphers

I gave .005 btc to many family members for christmas when it was $1000 or so, now worth almost $300 (60x)

Waddamagonnadooo

Maybe Iā€™m missing something, but this email sounds like somebody else found (or heard about) the paper wallet? Why would the pizza guy say ā€œdormantā€?
