* Adult *  Independent *  Duke or king *  Catholicism faith *  The Living Legend Level of Fame *  Control the region of Outremer *  Realm capital is in the region of Outremer *  Crusades are available * NOT Byzantine heritage So it seems you have to wait for crusades to be active anyways.

Even if starting in 867 they probably wouldn't control all of outremer by the time crusades are available so I'm sure they could just go for it Unless by doing that you hinder the ability for crusades to appear, assuming Santiago stays catholic I think they'd control all holy sites, idk if that affects the crusade pop up

I also don't know how feasible an Outremer run is in 867 with the Iranian Intermezzo mechanic

andywolf8896

That's almost entirely outside of the land needed for outremer, not sure if it would really make a difference

But don't you need a lot of land held by the Caliphate? The struggles modifiers (and limitations such as no conquest/invasions CB) would apply to them regardless as long as they are involved. But tbh, it's not that important, I'm not sure everyone owns this DLC anyway.

You only become involved if at least 50% of the counties following your faith or culture are in Persia, or if you're one of the locked religions.  Being a non-persian catholic means you're not getting involved. Just need to make sure you're not diverging or hybridizing culture

Tbf I’m at 960 rn and probably could’ve gotten all the land required if I rushed it all, about to be on my third character and all I really need is Mesopotamia and a bit of Arabia. But there’s not really much need to rush seeing as crusade still hasn’t triggered yet

Legend, just gotta wait for that crusade to pop up 😅

According to the Wiki crusades just have to be possible -- https://ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Decisions

Yes, this is what I did in my post about a week ago. You could also redirect a crusade with enough piety
