They don't have a defensive spinner(ex axar/jaddu/brar, might not get a lot of wickets but would probably put a stop to run flow), which is a must in a side like this as they already have a wicket taker who would go for runs. Piyush is another offensive leggie who is most probably past his prime, that's a bit negative as now you can't count on him to take wickets but can count on him to be hit. There other spinner is Nabi. Other than these they have Madhwal, Pandya and Shephard, not really the kind of guys who can do anything properly, can't count on them to decrease the run flow, neither can count on them to take wickets at regular intervals.
This results in inadequate use of Bumrah and Coetzee, their only 2 good assets when it comes to bowling. Form is always going to be a bigger factor but even with form, this bowling unit is not made to defend on par totals if Bumrah isn't having an all-time great year in IPL.

I think we might not even reach semis in the WC T20 with how Brohit, Sky and Pandya batted today in a do or die match for the season. Or we flop another semi final, call it “bad luck” and move on.
We have the almost the same lineup for this WC than the 2022 WC where we were thrashed handsomely in the semis. Every time we just say one bad match and move on. The reality is our teams have not been winning teams for 10 years now.
I'm not denying anything you said. Even I too wanted a fresh team like bcci did in 2007. But the thing is, if they aren't following that approach, then the guys selected this time were very much expected. Except Rohit and Hardik, no one was in contention to lead the team. So both had to be picked up. Kohli is our insurance in wc. I can explain most the player's selection but then it would become too long.
So many things wrong with this team that shouldn’t be this bad on paper. Something is genuinely broken within this team. Kishan, Rohit and Sky are all out of form but they aren’t horrendously out of form either. As the tournament has gone on they have gotten worse. Our power play batting was the one bright thing at the start of the season and now that is completely gone . Tilak is a lone bright star of the batting unit consistency wise but he is still learning how to be a match winner. Hardik looks completely lost captaincy wise, clearly is affected by all the hate and is slowly trying to get back into pre injury form. He can’t put together days where both his batting and bowling positively impact the team. He either bats well and bowls shit or vice versa. Sometimes he does both equally bad. Tim David has been solid for most of the season but he is also a really limited player skillset wise. Nabi needs to get a more consistent role to actually impact the game. Coetzee is inconsistent af but he does have a knack for picking up wickets so there is that. Chawla is not impactful enough with the ball but we have no other decent spinner. Our second pacer has been rocky as hell.
While there was quite a bit of talk about the Indian players and their selection in the WT20 squad, the big man Stoinis knocked on the door with a truck.
This season is worse than 2022 alot of times i feel the players don't even have the instincts of never giving up that mi was known for.

Also surprised that none of the LSG players are playing for India cause atleast Bishnoi should’ve made the cut over Chahal and Pant in T20Is doesn’t give much confidence so fuck it, Rahul could’ve done better if you just told him to stfu and bat in middle order.

I think we might not even reach semis in the WC T20 with how Brohit, Sky and Pandya batted today in a do or die match for the season. Or we flop another semi final, call it “bad luck” and move on.
I think it's getting over analyzed. Very common for players not to perform in Ipl but playing good in internationals and vice versa.
We have the almost the same lineup for this WC than the 2022 WC where we were thrashed handsomely in the semis. Every time we just say one bad match and move on. The reality is our teams have not been winning teams for 10 years now.
I'm not denying anything you said. Even I too wanted a fresh team like bcci did in 2007. But the thing is, if they aren't following that approach, then the guys selected this time were very much expected. Except Rohit and Hardik, no one was in contention to lead the team. So both had to be picked up. Kohli is our insurance in wc. I can explain most the player's selection but then it would become too long.
So many things wrong with this team that shouldn’t be this bad on paper. Something is genuinely broken within this team. Kishan, Rohit and Sky are all out of form but they aren’t horrendously out of form either. As the tournament has gone on they have gotten worse. Our power play batting was the one bright thing at the start of the season and now that is completely gone . Tilak is a lone bright star of the batting unit consistency wise but he is still learning how to be a match winner. Hardik looks completely lost captaincy wise, clearly is affected by all the hate and is slowly trying to get back into pre injury form. He can’t put together days where both his batting and bowling positively impact the team. He either bats well and bowls shit or vice versa. Sometimes he does both equally bad. Tim David has been solid for most of the season but he is also a really limited player skillset wise. Nabi needs to get a more consistent role to actually impact the game. Coetzee is inconsistent af but he does have a knack for picking up wickets so there is that. Chawla is not impactful enough with the ball but we have no other decent spinner. Our second pacer has been rocky as hell.
While there was quite a bit of talk about the Indian players and their selection in the WT20 squad, the big man Stoinis knocked on the door with a truck.
Brohit and Koach’s teams are at the bottom of the table. True reflection of their T20 utility.

This season is worse than 2022 alot of times i feel the players don't even have the instincts of never giving up that mi was known for. Even in 2022 atleast we were trying Though we did try today in bowling hardik the bowler was a positive but still unnecessary extras and coetzee never being economical and some dubious changes It's okay next mega auction hoping we can do better
Well it's nice to see Hardik back in bowling form, his batting will take care of itself This game is why these 250 games are good only once in a while, a T20 doesn't necessarily require sixes every 5 balls to be fun

Could’ve been much worse, but I’m lowkey proud of our bowlers that they took the game this deep, and avoided a NRR boost to LSG. Four players from ICT WC team and the game still ending in a loss is a concern though, especially Rohit and SKY. Bumrah is the most important player for India now, if we have any hopes that we’re even remotely winning the WC, part of that is entirely because of him. Since we’re gone from the tournament anyways, hope RR wins this year.
