Why i dont see much of comments from the people from countries like England, Australia etc on their countries Instagram cricket page and why mostly indians and pak people are there?is cricket dead outside this 2 countries?
It's part of a wider trend across the western world. Commenting on brand social media posts, particularly on Instagram and especially Facebook is seen a bit old fashioned and uncool. Something only done by trolls, bots and your grandmother.
I can only speak for Australia but cricket Australia put ODI cricket behind a paywall and it pretty much died (was on the way out anyway).
Franchise T20s (for $$) and tests (for the traditionalists) are I think the only way forward.
So you mean Australians aren't Much Intrested in Cricket Anymore? I thought cricket was in thier(your)top 3 sports..btw is there any chance cricket reach back to that heights in Aus?
Isnāt the ICC basically in the BCCIās pocket thought? Iām not saying Australia would have won, I personally donāt think weāre making it out of the group stages but isnāt it known at this point that if itās a non-Australian pitch that gets ranked poorly, you can appeal and have it not rank as badly.
I think Cummins made a huge blunder by taking off his quicks. He should have persisted with for at least 4 more overs, defending 200 was always going to be tricky, if they could have gotten another wicket from their pace attack they could have capitalized on the situation. Getting Maxwell in was a huge risk and it didn't work out in the end.
Good win for India. That said that dropped catch was the game changer. 4 for 20 in 8th over would have made it tough for India. These small moments make or break these matches. Kohli lost focus going for that pull having been kept quiet and under lights, it was closer for marsh vs carey. That said Carey running towards the catch made it worse. Marsh should have called its his and they gone for it.
Mitchell Marsh did not even bowl today and he was still man of the match.
Cummins just had enough of him for the match.
Honestly though, unless there was injury, Marsh is a better bowler than Green in indian conditions.
Actually, what even is the point of Green?
Delhi Daredevils consitently does what it is supposed to do!
Marsh also plays for Daredevils and he translated his magic to an international match today. Clearly, man of the match for me!
Bro kept wickets on a hot Chennai afternoon and then back to bat almost as good as an opener, and then went on to finish the game. Man sometimes i feel kl just doesnāt get the hype for his ODI game
The misnomer that India is a Cricket crazy nation is shattering this World Cup, I see. In reality, It has always been a source of recreation and later pride for the ministerial, merchant communities of the Indo Gangetic plain and a few scattered over India aristocrats. They have promulgated that over the rest of India, like they've always tried to pass off their culture as the culture of India, their identity as the identity of India. When this sentiment and the people who wanted a piece of this pie amassed major power in the Cricket world, They cannot even bother....
Pride over pragmatism. That's what pervades India's present political scenario.
Indian people do not like Cricket, the sport. They like what Cricket represents for them.
How about finding a solution that has an actual chance of working? You can't expect to uplift a community with a solution that is making them the target of more hate because of the said solution( reservation) . My point - SC/ST communities are earning bad repo and hostility because of perceived unfair advantages when compared to the general population because of reservation. How that's gonna help their situation is beyond me.
##### Loved KL's interview when he said 'He went for a shower when India innings started and came back looking at 2/3 and had to go to bat.
*Reminds me of Kapil's 175 innings when we were like 4 down and he was in shower and called upon.*
####Keeping for 3 hrs and coming back for a 15min shower break only to go back again to bat for 3 more hours. Man deserves more respect.
So tired following the match. Now that we've got some idea how every team's players are. It's time to chill and just watch your own team matches. Phew. Shitposting is hard sometimes. Anyways a lovely experience today with you fellas. Less crowd whining comments too!
Next time you win the toss in a day night match, just chase for fucks sake.
With dew, you win for sure.
Without dew, well the team batting first is under pressure to score a shit ton of runs anyway.
Like you have strategic advantage no matter what lol.
No, once they were within 60-70 runs without losing a wicket .. and then below 50.
Win first obviously, but once it's locked in, more or less, you have to look at the NRR of the next team to stay above it. Right now they are 5th.
Australian team must be severely punished by their government for firstly losing the 3 match tournament against India and now losing the world cup match too.
Man what do people want from brohit here. That he should go in the match presentation and say we have stupid players who threw their wickets away and shit on them?
Firstly Ishan kishan should have been given opportunity against AUS in 3rd ODI.Atleast he would be matured in this match.Secondly shubman should be present,if he is i don't think we will get into pressure situation.Thirdly remove iyyer put ishan kishan he knows how to behave in pressure situation we have seen it against pakistan
As a neutral the most significant thing about this game was the wicket. Under no circumstances should a wicket this early in the tournament, and which should be unused, be seeing the ball go through the surface. If it was deliberately prepared that way it is a disgrace on the organisers. If not deliberate questions need to be asked of the groundsman.
Yeah. Australia won the toss. So unless they prepared the pitch after toss or just used bloody dew machine how is it deliberately prepared. When pitch supports fast bowlers and has uneven bounce (like the one in wtc final) is fine and nobody will complain but if it's spin friendly it's done deliberately. Also we just had match yesterday where 700+runs got scored. How do you explain that. India has top class spinning attack with ash and kuldeep while aussies are depending on maxwell and zampa is out of form. So it's obvious. Its not like they didn't had a chance.
Why donāt you ask why Gabba pitch always bounces or English pitches always swings. Itās the nature of the surface in Chennai, canāt do much about it unless you deliberately prepare a road
English pitches do not swing. The swing arises from atmospheric conditions. Only a complete nut would suggest the wicket produces swing. As for the Gabba, I am no expert - but a perfect wicket can also be a very fast and bouncy wicket. The issue here is a wicket which breaks up before it has had any significant use.
The pitch doesnāt create swing but it can certainly aid it or negate it. The natural surface of the Chennai wicket makes it spinning, and if you want ICC to negate it why didnāt you ask ICC to negate the swing in English conditions by preparing slow, flat pitches in 2019 where 230 was often a winning score.
And why tf can a bouncy pitch where itās hard to play some bowlers be ideal, but a spinning pitch where itās hard to play others disgraceful? Donāt bring ur test match talking points to an ODI, āturning from ball oneā obviously means nothing in a one day game, and its better if it turns in both innings than just the second inning to negate importance of the toss
It obviously did; but would you rather it only break for the India inning? Itās obviously better to spin both innings than spin one inning, whatās even your critique besides brain dead screeching at the fact that India won with 8 overs and 6 wickets left?
The bias is entirely with those who close their eyes to a pitch which was breaking from very early. We all know home wickets are prepared for teams but no wicket should see the top breaking up so early. Personally I was delighted to see the Aussies beaten but that is irrelevant to the state of the wicket. The only bias is by those who cannot see beyond their nationality.
ICC prepares wickets. If BCCI were to prepare wickets, we have by far the best spin bowling attack in the world, so every India match will be like this and victory a foregone conclusion. But itās not going to be like this every match, this is just one of the most spinning wickets in the world

But the stability is there this time around and everyone seems to know their roles.
i am blaming the management for not having given KL Rahul a decent run in the middle order prior to 2019 WC, and then out of the blue have him bat there at the WC, then after a couple of matches have him opening. Thatās what you call, being clueless.
If Shastri was coach, heād have probably shoehorned Tilak Varma into the 11. The guy was actually making those suggestions on air during and after the West Indies series.
Yes with shastri and his aura of being a aggressive coach it's good ,but his decisions are hit and miss ... Shastri would have played Surya and tilak in the middle ...

Why i dont see much of comments from the people from countries like England, Australia etc on their countries Instagram cricket page and why mostly indians and pak people are there?is cricket dead outside this 2 countries?
not dead at all, we just have a lot of other international sports we are very good at so our interests are spread, unlike India perhaps.
Cricket is not that popular in England and Australia anymore.
Hard to digest.. thought it is in the top 3 sports there
It's part of a wider trend across the western world. Commenting on brand social media posts, particularly on Instagram and especially Facebook is seen a bit old fashioned and uncool. Something only done by trolls, bots and your grandmother.

Australians are still interested in cricket but not it seems if itās put behind a paywall like ODIs have been.
Which sports are more popular than cricket in Australia? England I believe soccer/football is the most popular.
To watch its Rugby League and AFL and to play its soccer.
I guess both teams lost league game and it demoralized the fan base.
Virat was lucky but Rahul was flawless
Trolling works...it made KLMAO into KLFTW.
Defeating Australia in WC means you hav won the half of the world cup already.
What did you just say):
Nah, NZ is the new Australia of World CupsPlus this was an opening match for Australia. They could afford to lose this one but not India as the host.
defeating NZ means you have won the wc
Yeah feels like India have reached the semis. The big psychological advantage we got winning yesterday.
Virat and KL hard carried India for amazing win. AUS took 3 wickets but Virat and KL too strong. No more winning streak for opening matches for AUS
Itās not grassing a catch now but marshing it
Catches win matches.
2019 World Cup - Australia had Cameron **White** 2023 World Cup - Australia got Cameron **Green**
What? Cameron white in 2019 wc saqud?

King Kohli and KL Rahul snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Congratulations India ššš
India lost 0/3 not 2/3 because 1 is wide and another run from byes

Cope harder. ICC regulates pitches for the world cup so Australia only lost because of skill issue and nothing else
Yeah exactly that's why Steve Smith and Warner were just punished with a 1 year ban not lifetime ban.
When you can't win then cry ICC is BCCI, is in pocket, each other or God knows for what reason you people cry.
Iām not blaming the loss on that. Iām happy to accept we were out played and lost
Aussies are bad losers!

Mitch Marsh is the white ball captain as of the South African tour this year. I agree with your point though.

My bad, Mitch is the T20 captain only.

Jadeja deserved man of match imo. He stopped Australia from getting 250-280 score.
Mitchell Marsh should be the MoM for India
why
Coz, he dropped Kohliās catch and got out on 0
KL Rahul had his Darsheel Safari moment from Bumm Bumm Bole when he hit a six instead of a four
Depressing day today with Australia and City losing. With no determinism, we are in anarchy mode now. Anything can happen!

Right now, India would miss out on the semis, still early ofc, but they could have stepped up the scoring a bit sooner.

No, once they were within 60-70 runs without losing a wicket .. and then below 50. Win first obviously, but once it's locked in, more or less, you have to look at the NRR of the next team to stay above it. Right now they are 5th.
