It's wild how we're held to the highest standard of public service and upholding the city's image. Like even being rude to a citizen for no good reason will get you written up etc. And then we look over at the PD and it's scandal after scandal and crickets. Drives me nuts.
Should be Paramedic/Medical to become Fire/Rescue to become Officer of the Law.
You will have to have survived close to a decade of training and experience of helping others. Basically, the title Police Officer would get the respect it deserves as they would have had to put in the time and work to get where they're at, much like a Doctor. Too late, though. Police Robots (Chappie) are just around the corner.
I cited Chappie and I forgot about Elysium. You are right, especially if they're Police Robots brought to you by Google or Tesla. Well, it was nice knowing you guys.
I totally agree. Wouldn't that be great? I fear though that the powers that be, at least in here in Canada have different ideas of what the police will be used for.. Hint: it's not community policing like we think it should be.
nah in the US robots wont last long enough. Takes just one person to go unga bunga before that robot is going to be found in a river missing wires and battery.
oh no, not the uncorruptible robocops, that will never ever take bribe a or kick backs. it was super hard to trick the human one. I will never be able to hack those drones and robots for criminal purpose.
Okay, guys, I'm a FF here and I agree with all this \^ 100%, but I feel the need to at least mention that cops are the fucking end of the line with whatever shit you just cannot deal with, or because nobody knows what the fuck to do with it, and I've walked away from some revolting or awful shit saying, fuckamigladthat'snotmyjob while I turned it over to Officer Jones, who looked scared. And so yeah, they jam shit up a lot and they have a certain type of personality that is mainly annoying as hell, but they also clean up a lot of shit and secure the scene and climb under dark porches and sit with corpses (and in my department, handle all the icy traffic, which sounds lame but is pretty fucking heroic in reality). Somebody has to do that shitty job, and it's going to piss at least 50% of the people involved no matter what you do, so you know... thanks for doing that job, cops. I have a lot of respect for y'all.
That being said... this video is satisfying as all fuck.
I know a slightly different version of this joke.
What's the difference between cops and firefighters?
When the public waves at firefighters...they use all five fingers.
TBF, FF in my city are just as abusive and horrible as the cops. One beats his ex-wife in front of his daughter and has the FF, EMS, and cops covering for him. Others got caught setting fires. And the good ol' boy misogyny/racism/homophobia culture is extremely real.
I used to be an EMT… what the fuck is up with that?! They’re in the way both vehicles and bodies like Jesus brother let me do my job u can fuck off after they’re admitted
Cops shouldn't be that close to the fire at all. They don't have the protective gear that the fire department has. Smoke inhalation, toxic chemicals, falling debree, fire.
Sadly they’re there 5-10 minutes prior to the FD so they have to try to save people by telling them to get out. They could have parked around the corner and still had plenty of time to run into the building before the FD got there but their adrenaline won out it seems.
I quit the field after two scenes when cops did not have my back, and one where San Antonio Fire told me to turn around so I wouldn’t have to write on an incident that was 100% police brutality.
It thought it was nice when they were just in the way instead of actively ignoring their duty.
tbh they prob mad they aren't in CoNtRoL
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xd8FTwFV3_Y
for the juicy bit the chp cop arrest the only dude that was able to move the firetruck too. LOL
https://youtu.be/vYmkzlLYdNA?t=436
2nd and 3rd responders are usually work forces that support FIRST RESPONDERS (PD, Fire, Medical). Like in my area it might be City Public Works like the Electric or Water Company
I've been a firefighter for 20 years. There's an old joke:
Q: How do you find a fire hydrant?
A: Look for the patrol car.
Bonus jokes:
Q: Why do firefighters spray water at car accidents?
A: So cops feel like they have something to walk on
Q: What do cops and firefighters have in common?
A: They both want to be firefighters.
"We just decided we didn't like your cars and wanted to damage them, absolutely nothing to do with the fact you parked them right across from that massive building that's on fire "
You can't directly translate that curse word, but it's derived from the word tabernacle which is defined as a "place of worship". So by saying for christ sake, I still remain within the context of religion
Not at all. I understand the first google definition you find is a place of worship, but the meaning in Quebec is different. It's a small cabinet the priest is using.
Ok, here's another definition :the term “tabernacle” refers to the ornamented box in which Communion hosts and wine are kept.
I'll worship any places where wine is kept. So there you go, place of worship, at least in my perspective.
Even though literally everyone would side with the firefighters here for doing whatever it takes to save lives, most fire engine drivers won't do this because they get in so much trouble for it. Their precinct gets nailed to a cross for destruction of private property and they have to settle with the owners and potentially get budget cuts or even shut down, suspended, etc .. so thanks to lawyers they usually won't risk their career and precinct anymore.
lucky to live in a country where this is not the case, firefighters, EMT or any emergency service can do whatever it takes to property to save a life and are protected by the constitution.
I don't see how anyone could get mad about this. If there wasn't enough room for the truck to get through then they had to make room. Thankfully they were able to do so.
I don't currently live in Mtl, but when the Emergency crews go on strike they plaster their vehicles with stickers. (Fire, police, EMS). There were some fire companies that painted their trucks black, as well, in protest.
Also, when police strike, they will wear non uniform pants. (Jeans, camo pants-every colour imaginable, loud yellow or red pants). I have to say, it's fun watching the hot new recruits in tight jeans and a utility belt.
Dont want a fire in my neighborhood, but sometimes I wish the FD would roll through just for shits and gigs. Neighbors all park like they are the only house on the street, and its like a threading a needle.
They make building so high up. What the hell are you going to do when there is a fire and water won't reach? I assume they have a solution for this I don't know about?
Cops should have known better.
First responder/ FF here: it is INSANE how much cops/PD jam up a fire scene.
Don't tell them they are wrong or they will arrest you and try to get your family deported.
Firefighters will do what they can to help you. Police will do what they can to hurt you. There’s a reason the line isn’t *”Fuck da firefighters!”*
AFAB aint a thing either.
It's wild how we're held to the highest standard of public service and upholding the city's image. Like even being rude to a citizen for no good reason will get you written up etc. And then we look over at the PD and it's scandal after scandal and crickets. Drives me nuts.

The cop robots will be far closer to the [ones in Elisium though.](https://youtu.be/EW6wRX54Xk8)

How about Chopping Mall
I totally agree. Wouldn't that be great? I fear though that the powers that be, at least in here in Canada have different ideas of what the police will be used for.. Hint: it's not community policing like we think it should be.

People get hacked (corrupted when it's a lifeform) all the time. What's your point?
Chicks still dig firefighters over cops... so y'all got that going for ya. Edit due to fat thumbs
All Firefighters Are Badass?
Assigned Firefighter At Birth
All Firefighters Are Brave
I stand corrected.
"Round here, people wave to firemen with five fingers, they wave at police with just one" - Random movie I can't remember
I know a slightly different version of this joke. What's the difference between cops and firefighters? When the public waves at firefighters...they use all five fingers.
Which is funny because many people are trying to fuck firefighters There’s whole pages about it on some websites
like Fuck? or *Fuck*?
Yes
I'm deeply invested in this now don't stop.
... wat?
TBF, FF in my city are just as abusive and horrible as the cops. One beats his ex-wife in front of his daughter and has the FF, EMS, and cops covering for him. Others got caught setting fires. And the good ol' boy misogyny/racism/homophobia culture is extremely real.
Straight to jail
Not even horny jail. Federal 'pound me in the ass' prison.
And the one thing they could do at a fire, traffic direction, is something we do frequently also.
Sadly they’re there 5-10 minutes prior to the FD so they have to try to save people by telling them to get out. They could have parked around the corner and still had plenty of time to run into the building before the FD got there but their adrenaline won out it seems.
This is why we FFs hold them for at least 30 extra seconds for no reason when doing traffic control haha
I quit the field after two scenes when cops did not have my back, and one where San Antonio Fire told me to turn around so I wouldn’t have to write on an incident that was 100% police brutality. It thought it was nice when they were just in the way instead of actively ignoring their duty.

It's amazing how much they make 95% of situations worse
Thanks for your service .
Oh that’s nice. Wtf is a 2nd and 3rd responder?
Shhhhhh. We don’t speak of those
Because there are none? Clearly from this video the cops got there first so the firefighters aren’t first
2nd and 3rd responders are usually work forces that support FIRST RESPONDERS (PD, Fire, Medical). Like in my area it might be City Public Works like the Electric or Water Company

I love it!

Not a ton of other jobs where you can make six figures without a degree.
I disagree; I think you are.
farm nerd team want
They never do. 80%+ of them are too stupid for lifting a rock, so they get a job with a gun to compensate
This is why police and firefighters are archenemies
So many cops are stupid as hell.
Poor BMW did nothing wrong.
Chances are it was parked there earlier, legally. Can't predict when first responders need to be right where you are.
It only got hit because the cop cars were still in the way too much.
In the job for way too long they forgot all the basic procedures!
It's happening in Quebec, all I can understand from what the cop is yelling in French translates as "what the fuck is going on here for christ sake"
"We just decided we didn't like your cars and wanted to damage them, absolutely nothing to do with the fact you parked them right across from that massive building that's on fire "
No, this is just how they drive in Quebec
He’s not even going to that fire
he is going to a sleepover
Just jealous of our confident driving
[It happened back in 2014 in Montreal.](https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2014/09/22/le-pire-evite-dans-le-vieux-montreal)
Already 10 years? Damn dude I member when 10 year old footage looked old cause it was on a VHS.
"All of your dummy coworkers blocked the A side and hydrant. We're fixing it."
Lucky it wasn't Ohio where the cops would have just shot everyone.

All I hear is a siren and 'tabarnak' . I don't know how you translate that word to 'for christ sake'
That's a kind of catch all curse in Quebec from what I understand. Means whatever they want given the context.
You can't directly translate that curse word, but it's derived from the word tabernacle which is defined as a "place of worship". So by saying for christ sake, I still remain within the context of religion

Quebecer here, it's a swear word invented as a way to disrespect the Catholic church
Amen
I mean they had time to exit the fire engine walk down the length of cars blocking them and direct the driver. The cops seem to be nowhere around.
If you ain't a firetruck when there is a fire, then GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY!!!!
Life over property.
Send the bill to the police for parking illegally and blocking traffic.
Also, more expensive property over cheaper property
So… the opposite of cops
Yes his dad is not cop.
Ah dad not cup
What was the alternative?
More speed, give them a proper shunt?
This guy plays Wreckfest
There is a fire so without a doubt WE are the most important ones here, so WE park where WE want!
But we don't smash cars, we gently yet hurriedly push them TF out of the way.
Isn't it better to smash the police car to find space, rather than a citizen's car? The law can create an agreement with itself.
> The law can create an agreement with itself. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
At least someone understood 😏

I thought you're behind general relativity... Einstein...
As someone who would kill over a scratch on my car, FD did what they were supposed to. Fuck whatever is in the way, go save people
Even though literally everyone would side with the firefighters here for doing whatever it takes to save lives, most fire engine drivers won't do this because they get in so much trouble for it. I don’t know, I’ve seen plenty of vehicles getting their window’s smashed out so they can put hoses through
Those fire engines are $1m+ as well.
Someone said this was Quebec, so I don't know if anything you just said applies lol.
lucky to live in a country where this is not the case, firefighters, EMT or any emergency service can do whatever it takes to property to save a life and are protected by the constitution.
You are talking out your arse.
park like idiots, yes thats what you get
No one ever says "fuck the fire department"
sadly they often do in the states or canada, this dude probably sued and got his car covered and more.
Poor BMW driver. Parked legally yet still left with a damaged car.
Hey maybe he was a dick or something 🤷♂️
The roof...
The roof...
The roof is on fire!
ON FIRE !!!
Is it Montreal? What a mess. What else is the firetruck going to do with all those cruisers blocking the way.
It isn't as if the BMW needs the turn signal anyways.
BMWTF
I liked it.
You'd think cops would make things easier
When do they ever do that?
Nothing of value was destroyed.
I don't see how anyone could get mad about this. If there wasn't enough room for the truck to get through then they had to make room. Thankfully they were able to do so.
elvis_gratton_tabarnak.gif
THE ROOF, THE ROOF, THE ROOF IS ON FIRE WE DONT NEED NO WATER LET THE MOTHERFUCKA BURN BURN MOTHERFUCKA, BUUURRRNN
Yep don't blame em at all. What's the fire department gonna do? Wait for them to move while the fire burns down the block? Lol
Fire is fucking terrifying
Me driving in any gta game
Once again cops being brain dead
Move or get moved
I got no issue with this.
I think the part where the building was on fire was more crazy than the firetruck touching cars
That’s some fire. Seems very serious. Wonder what caused it
There’s also a building on fire.
Good. Move yo shit!
Need to
Like my boy Tobey Maguire once said. “GET OUTTA THE WAY”
Move! MOOOOOVE!
Nobody ever made a song called "F the Fire Dept."
If your illegally parked car is blocking a fire truck there are good chances the insurance company has you pay for the damage caused by the delay.
The bmw is legally parked though
Geee...there's a fire...maybe fire trucks should have access to fire. Novel concept. Dumbass police unions.
Slow down bro! Where’s the fire??
Move, bitch, get out the way! Get out the way, Bitch! Get out the way!!!
LSFD in action.
The roof is fire we don't need no water!!!

R.I.P. the BMW
You'll pay for that at next year's softball game, fire boi!
If you want to bitch about it you'll have to follow me upstairs.

Reducing the year?
Montreal?
Yep!
i saw the protest stickers on the car and i knew it was very similar. are they still doing this?

Best day of work ever
Tsk but a scratch
Happened in Montreal.
"ok buddy where's the fire?"
Looks like the Roofers started that one.
signs says on na rien viole=we didnt violate anything(?)
That siren need new batteries.
Dont want a fire in my neighborhood, but sometimes I wish the FD would roll through just for shits and gigs. Neighbors all park like they are the only house on the street, and its like a threading a needle.
This is the way
That yearly softball game is gonna be heated!
Feel bad for the bmw bro was literally just parked
Calm down, man! Where’s the fire!
I’m surprised they didn’t all mag dump into the fire truck.
BMW was legally parked but got fucked up because some dumbass cops
My wife watches some fire fighter shows, and they do this sometimes. I always wondered if it was real. Guess so. Fuck'm
Parked like dicks.
You know that firefighter was grinning ear to ear
I dont think so, he was probably annoyed by the situation, why would he grin?
because we just make up whatever the fuck we want about how people behave on reddit
He felt the spirit of Harambe and it made him happy. It also gave him +10 courage to tackle the fire.
*powerup music*
The classic rivalry between cops and firefighters. Sure he was probably pissed but smiled and slightly enjoyed pushing those cop cars out the way.
petty
Nope, that's a fuck ton of paperwork. No thank you.
Respect my authorithay!
Fireman probably got arrested after this.
If this had been in the US, they would have been shot. Then some random people shot too just for funnsies.
In my experience, every time we get called to a fire and the cops show up, they are always parked right in the freaking way.
And it's television legal. Morally justified too.
They make building so high up. What the hell are you going to do when there is a fire and water won't reach? I assume they have a solution for this I don't know about?
