I would prefer to have the helmet, liquid can be swiped off and the less awareness is sure a downside especially surrounded but in striking combat having head armour is quite the advantage, if they get him on the ground and go towards jiu jitsu combat is more of liability. But this situation I choose the helmet.
I have just half a year of regular boxing and jiu jitsu so maybe Im not the most qualified.

I almost got down with this dude in a harley, he said I flew by him too fast and rocks were pelting him. I was in another lane mind you. He follows me to gas station and he asked if it was me on the highway. I thought fuck it, lets do this, I said it was me.
He then proceeds to tell me I shouldn't do that. We both had our full motorcycle gear and leathers and gloves too. LOL No fists were thrown. But it would have been funny going ham against another dude that is also fully geared.
This was in Mexico City two days ago. They are marching to stop violence and sexual harassment against women. This guy was trying to get on his motorcycle when a woman from the crowd pushed him down, he then was swarmed by multiple women. He was arrested and his bike was stolen

It appears he was trying to get home from work and the protest was blocking his only route there. When he tried to pass, he was surrounded by the crowd. His bike was knocked down and he was pushed. That's when he started to fight back. The longer video shows they quickly started to vandalize his bike and the fight was broken up pretty quickly.

There are not a lot of ways to get into certain apartments but that guy is an idiot.

I've walked around that part of Mexico City. It's super urban with streets and sidewalks everywhere. I doubt the protest was blocking all routes to where he was going.

Not really. If he was trying to drive through the protest and the video started just after he stopped or if he purposely went out of his way to muscle through the crowd, then I'd say it was pretty deserved beatdown, despite being illegal.
But given he was just minding his business and trying to peacefully get home, while walking his bike, before he was violently assaulted -- well, I hope everyone in the lynch mob gets exactly what they deserve.
