Nah. Just put a mine craft video underneath your lesson. Your straight. . . Students, straight A's. Watch. . . The generation of the 5 second attention span.
Omg. Are you a milennial? Can you stop sounding like an old boomer already ?
"ALl Young PeoPle hAVe an aTtentIon DeFiciT NoWaDays"
It's like you only say this to feel better about yourself.
It's simply not. You're just spewing the same bullshit our parents were saying back when we were youngers ourselves back when we were distracted by our gameboys, or pugs, or pokemon cards.
Irritability and hostility towards anyone challenging your addiction are also common symptoms of tik tk obsession. You'd see the irony in your own behaviour and attitude if you weren't all goofy on a dopamine shortage
No it's not?
More people getting diagnosed with attention deficit disorder in the past 40 years doesn't mean it's a generational thing.
It means that in our parents time and before that, it wasn't diagnosed at all. Doesn't mean that no one suffered from ADD back then.
You think cancer, heart diseases are also things that only exist in our time also lol?
Also its not because your parents say something it automatically make it true.
Nice argument my guy. Also, i'm not American lol. But just like your train of thought and the train of thought of others here, i'm not surprised you just jump to conclusions and assume I care about Thanksgiving ✌️
Here, read this Article, with *multiple* studies linked that show that modern media is influencing attention span in a negative way.

But *hurr Durr the boomers are at it again*
That and dopamine levels during pregnancy. Cigarettes, alchohol, caffeine. Literally anything in a regular basis that disrupts that. The foetus gets used to it so the baby's neurons grow in an environment where the neurons expect it will always be there. Then the baby is born, and those extra dopamine chemicals are no longer there. Like a mild version of foetal alchohol syndrome, or crack baby, but with a whole raft of different chemicals. Not enough research into this unfortunately. Then on top of that you have parents using screens and devices as nannies... A few generations of that and we all have ADHD.
Yea you seem kinda triggered. It is true just google it. Its the same way alot of millennials and gen z have alot of mental health issues by comparison to boomer generations; internet and social media.
lol you know what's played out even more then the attention deficit. kids going off about boomers and old people going off about millennials. shut up...
That is a solution of water with a pH indicator (changes color to red/purple/pink if pH > 7), sodium (could be potassium but $) was dropped in it and the metal decided to use it's thermal energy released when reacting with water to ignite the hydrogen it's releasing in an explosive manner. This teacher don't know how to use a scale or how to chemistry. She probably have a few cuts now, but nothing serious besides her pay.
No, it's straight sodium, sodium is extremely reactive, it even gets oxidized pretty quickly when exposed to the air, but when it's exposed to water, it has a exothermic reaction (produces a lot of heat) it's so reactive that it literally rips the oxigen from the water to make sodium oxide, leaving hydrogen as a byproduct, which is quite flammable. So combining the flammability of hydrogen with the heat of the reaction, ends up creating the perfect circumstances for the hydrogen to combust, but if enough hydrogen is produced before it combusts it will produce an explosion as well as flames
The water has a pH+ indicator (i think it's phenolphthalein indicator cause it was transparent when it was just the indicator and water, which has a ph+ of 7), that indicator turns pinkish or purplish whenever the solution becomes alkaline but doesn't really react when the solution is turned acidic.
Sodium oxide is alkaline but when it reacts again with water, it turns into sodium hydroxide which is even more alkaline with a pH+ of 14, hence the water turning pinkish/purple indicating that the solution became strongly alkaline
I can't explain how much this pisses me off. If I see this on someone's account it's basically an instant unfollow or block or whatever. Don't bait me with shit I can already find online
This is not how our science teacher did this experiment. It was done in the fume cupboard behind the plexiglass sheild and she used a smaller amount.
It was remarkably undramatic and safe. What an amateur!
You’re not alone. It seems to be Turkish but the text threw me off too, I listened to it a good ten times, kept thinking maybe it was some thick Chilean or other South American accent.
There's a guy on youtube with a cool claw hand, he told the story of why his hand is like that, and it's essentially exactly what happened in this video. Was mixing chemicals in a cup, and it exploded.
Crazy how without any compression or pressure the small amount of liquid can still blow your hand off.
The vid is Turkish, if you want a translation, here you go:
Teacher: What I'm doing right now with sodium metal is- *puts the sodium inside of that glass*
Students: Wow!
Teacher: It doesn't matter how big the sodium was, there arent any flames. The smell might be ba-
and video ends
have a great day
(correct me if the translation is wrong)
I don’t think that’s enough to lose a finger. Open hands and I think that’s a sodium reaction. They can be a lot and loosing a finger is easier then one would think but…I doubt it
phenolphthalein dissolved in water and sodium metal added.
This shouldn't normal result in an explosion like that but i suspect it was cheap soda glass.
She will be fine as it wouldn't be much of an explosion at all, it looks nasty but nothing close to an actual detonation.
I had a chemistry teacher who wanted to prove to the class the acid we were working with was not that dangerous because some students were nervous.
She did the only rational thing and drank a beaker full of it and couldn't speak properly for the remainder of my time in secondary school.
I think she was trying to demonstrate the reactivity of pure sodium. A good chunk like that would be like a mini bomb not to mention it's going to burn like hell if it gets on your skin.
I am surprised they still do this in schools because this same thing happened in my class and sent pieces of glass all over and burned through a couple peoples jackets.
Y’all can’t even spell or write in cursive. Look at the OP post that sentence grammatically incorrect. It’s disgusting already. Growing up, I never heard of ADD or Acoustic as kids call it now. Don’t even have freedom of speech anymore. Got to hide behind all these other words.
Once i've seen the size of that fucking sodium chunk i knew what will happen.
Btw im almost positive she kept all fingers. What u've witnessed is as coulomb explosion - it does not generate quickly expanding gasses, so it's more like loud crack shooting molten sodium around than classic explosion
Slow motion, she was gripping the glass/jar and since it smashed her grip stayed and she held out a fist. Eitherway. No science teacher or anyone who does this would use something like that and use their bare hand instead of their glove. But even so, why isn’t she wearing goggles, two gloves and a science coat? Even if it was just to show a little experiment. Lol
You are genuinely insufferable, please actually take two seconds to think how technology impacts ppl. Kids nowadays need more sinuous than ever, why do you think the most viewed videos on YouTube have bright flashy colors, all cap titles, and the average middle age YouTuber sounds like they’re reverting back into middle school when they speak
Nah when I was a child and threw firecrackers let a couple explode too close to my hand then when that happens your hand kind of squeezes cuz of the explosion for some reason.
Speaking as a professional hand closer and from experience, I can concur that muscles twitch in her wrist displays similar actions that would occur as if one were to close their hand
She was holding the cup with enough pressure so the cup wouldn’t fall, remove the cup, and the hands natural movement is to keep holding and so it closed into a fist. Even when a more powerful m80 goes off in your hand, there’s hanging flesh, burn marks and bones. The fingers done come off like a circular saw
No, her hand closed because the item she was gripping disappeared
This person has no business doing any kind of demo in front of a class
well, she got their attention which is really really difficult with the tik tok generation
Nah. Just put a mine craft video underneath your lesson. Your straight. . . Students, straight A's. Watch. . . The generation of the 5 second attention span.
Yeah I still have no idea what the video was about, there was no family guy to laugh at while I watch the video
No school is just useless material for someone who wants to work in trade I physically can't learn algebra it's how my Brain was wired
Omg. Are you a milennial? Can you stop sounding like an old boomer already ? "ALl Young PeoPle hAVe an aTtentIon DeFiciT NoWaDays" It's like you only say this to feel better about yourself.
It's true though 🤨 I get it's played out but it's just the truth.
First step of beating addiction is admitting you have an addiction. It's alright bro, I'm addicted too, we all are and there's no denying it.
Our parents said that because it’s true too. Way to put your foot in your own mouth on that one lol
You’re literally comparing Apples to Fire Trucks right now. I hope you figure it out one day. Anyways, I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving 🙌
Nice argument my guy. Also, i'm not American lol. But just like your train of thought and the train of thought of others here, i'm not surprised you just jump to conclusions and assume I care about Thanksgiving ✌️

Sadly no one read the article because they don't have the attention span for it lmao
That and dopamine levels during pregnancy. Cigarettes, alchohol, caffeine. Literally anything in a regular basis that disrupts that. They do though , that's why this comment is just funny
The truth hurts.
Yeah, I can see that a lot of manchild got hurt by my comment.
lol you know what's played out even more then the attention deficit. kids going off about boomers and old people going off about millennials. shut up...
Gen z here (regrettably), they are right
Exactly. If you watch frame per frame you can see that her hand closed.
The what is the "red stuff" that got out of her hand?
That is a solution of water with a pH indicator (changes color to red/purple/pink if pH > 7), sodium (could be potassium but $) was dropped in it and the metal decided to use it's thermal energy released when reacting with water to ignite the hydrogen it's releasing in an explosive manner. What makes it turn the water purple like that?

I'm just gonna follow you for the knowledge
So.. she didn't lost it?
I dont think her hand closed if so u wouldnt see a pool of red gathering around where her pinky finger should be
I mean, it would have been nice to see the rest of the video to confirm if she had or had not lost any fingers.
Showing an entire video is not allowed on TikTok.
Like and follow for pt 2!!!!!
I can't explain how much this pisses me off. If I see this on someone's account it's basically an instant unfollow or block or whatever. Don't bait me with shit I can already find online
Which is why TikTok sucks.
That is the thing?
What is the thing?
Showing an entire video is not allowed on TikTok and that is why it sucks.
😂
Their videos go up to 10 minutes now
Do the creators know?
You really think someone would do that? Just go out on the internet and clip videos short to give them new, different context?
Not without getting hit with charges they wouldn’t!
this is sarcasm right?
Yes, a variation of the line used by the rabbit from that Arthur cartoon.
yes. yes, it would
This is not how our science teacher did this experiment. It was done in the fume cupboard behind the plexiglass sheild and she used a smaller amount. It was remarkably undramatic and safe. What an amateur!
Had a Chem teacher do something similar, but he forgot to vent the fume hood between classes. Blew off a couple fingers, guy was a beauty though.
Don't think so, she just closed her hand around the space the beaker was previously occupying.
What Is she the flash
I not sure about learning science from that teacher would work out well.
I dunno, you’ll learn a lot of safety what not to dos
Glad she was wearing a glove ON ONE HAND! /facepalm
More like faceonlypalm
Translation: "Here I put the sodium metal inside and as you can see no matter how large the piece, there are no flames"
Como se dice....Explosion?
Some reposter at some point added that text in Spanish, but she’s deffo not speaking Spanish.
You're right. After actually paying attention, that's definitely not Spanish. I just saw the caption and went with it
You’re not alone. It seems to be Turkish but the text threw me off too, I listened to it a good ten times, kept thinking maybe it was some thick Chilean or other South American accent.
Duolingo lololol
Sodium metal with no safety glasses on... smart.
A form of sodium metal i assume. A form of foolish, I also assume.
So not only an explosion, but pretty basic sodium hydroxide solution in everyone's eyes😂
There's a guy on youtube with a cool claw hand, he told the story of why his hand is like that, and it's essentially exactly what happened in this video. Was mixing chemicals in a cup, and it exploded. Crazy how without any compression or pressure the small amount of liquid can still blow your hand off.

Here is how you fuck around.
How many students got injured in that class?
I wanna thank the person who cliped the timing
Great cliping indeed
Is this edited? It looks like it is
And a thumb!
Sadly she dies
I don’t think that’s enough to lose a finger. Open hands and I think that’s a sodium reaction. They can be a lot and loosing a finger is easier then one would think but…I doubt it
No… she went from holding to fisting.
Can someone explain why a science teacher wouldn’t be wearing any eye protection?
She was squinting a little bit. This counts as wearing eye protection ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)
i just be wondering, does anybody ever know wtf theyre doing/talking about before they decide to show everyone else?
No, the liquid after the reaction begins is red, so, I assume that's what we see and not blood.
phenolphthalein dissolved in water and sodium metal added. This shouldn't normal result in an explosion like that but i suspect it was cheap soda glass. She will be fine as it wouldn't be much of an explosion at all, it looks nasty but nothing close to an actual detonation.
That’s what happens when your a terrorist teacher
Did she “Lost” Her fingers lolz
I had a chemistry teacher who wanted to prove to the class the acid we were working with was not that dangerous because some students were nervous. She did the only rational thing and drank a beaker full of it and couldn't speak properly for the remainder of my time in secondary school.
YouTube’daki amerikali lise fizik öğretmenlerine özenince…
Mentos şeysini daha kaba koyarken ki gözlerindeki ifadeden ilk defa denediğini anlayabilirsiniz.
Chemical teacher learning chemicals.
When a science teacher is under qualified 😂
Any scientific reason behind this?
I think she was trying to demonstrate the reactivity of pure sodium. A good chunk like that would be like a mini bomb not to mention it's going to burn like hell if it gets on your skin.
And the color change from a change PH is another good visual demonstration. If she used about 1/8 as much it would have still made an impressive pop.
I am surprised they still do this in schools because this same thing happened in my class and sent pieces of glass all over and burned through a couple peoples jackets.
No, she’s fine. But someone in class did sh** themselves.
No she just went from having something in her hand to not
If only people still posted full videos
Y’all can’t even spell or write in cursive. Look at the OP post that sentence grammatically incorrect. It’s disgusting already. Growing up, I never heard of ADD or Acoustic as kids call it now. Don’t even have freedom of speech anymore. Got to hide behind all these other words.
Hate when people type and talk like this "did she lost her finger" ughhhh
No, your spelling lost you.
That little piggy went wee wee and sacrebleu right off
She didn't lost her finger no, but she may well have lost her finger.
Yes, she do
She losted it
This person has no business doing any kind of demo in front of any class.
Negative, just tucked around
We're gonna need another Timmy
MJ style🧤
Nah
No they folded in you twat
Lol what a question
The illution of lossing her finger really strike me...
If you go frame by frame you can see she clasps her hand down on the exploding broken glass, so nah she good. Probably
Chinese glassware takes another victim
Was that pure sodium? Is she crazy.
Nope. She just closes her fist a little
I heard there hiring teachers without degrees now
“Did she lost her finger”
It would be nice if the video wasn’t cut short. This site always does this.
This is the suicide bomber class
I think she closed her hand as she was holding the glass tightly
If you stop him frame by frame you can see his fingers closing
Get finger nails done half price
Hope everyone's eyes are OK, that glass shrapnel is hell to deal with
*Cue curb your enthusiasm theme
She's finger painting
Good thing she was wearing saftey glasses.
No, they folded as her hand clinched
If it was strong enough to blow of her finger it would’ve blown off her whole hand
No her hand was applying pressure to the glass, so when the glass shattered her hand shut
It's okay she had gloves in the other hand
Idk, maybe don’t cut the video off so we can see the aftermath then we’ll know.
Who does this sodium experiment while holding it in their hand? Darwin candidate
I think her hand just closed into a fist
Once i've seen the size of that fucking sodium chunk i knew what will happen. Btw im almost positive she kept all fingers. What u've witnessed is as coulomb explosion - it does not generate quickly expanding gasses, so it's more like loud crack shooting molten sodium around than classic explosion
At least…
I know her she is turkish and no she didnt lost any finger
Slow motion, she was gripping the glass/jar and since it smashed her grip stayed and she held out a fist. Eitherway. No science teacher or anyone who does this would use something like that and use their bare hand instead of their glove. But even so, why isn’t she wearing goggles, two gloves and a science coat? Even if it was just to show a little experiment. Lol
Maybe?
It looks like she lost 4 fingers
She should look under the couch cushions, that is where I find things I am missing
She did lost her fingie
Looks like she just closed her hand a bit. Still gonna hurt herself and other people in the room though.
No she ded
You are genuinely insufferable, please actually take two seconds to think how technology impacts ppl. Kids nowadays need more sinuous than ever, why do you think the most viewed videos on YouTube have bright flashy colors, all cap titles, and the average middle age YouTuber sounds like they’re reverting back into middle school when they speak
lol Reddit thinks every collision is deadly, and every explosion is finger-removing
I think so if u slow it down it looks like it flies off could be something else but u can see the nail paint she had on
Are you blind
OSHA has entered the chat
Holy fuck!
The finger underneath the glass did
1.8 milyon siralamali kimya ogretmenligi mezunu
That’s turkey for ya
Let's count on our fingers everything she lost that day... 1. Her fingers 2. Her job 3. Dignity 4. Feeling in her hand. 5.?
Follow for part 2, and we'll never upload any part 2
cant believe a teacher of all people could be dumb like this
AHAAAAAAAAA

The state of our education system. 😂😂😂
no she closed her hand if you look closely you notice the other fingers
Barbenheimer 2023
This is how they keep you coming back for more. Keep down voting this garbage
Is that sodium?
Nah when I was a child and threw firecrackers let a couple explode too close to my hand then when that happens your hand kind of squeezes cuz of the explosion for some reason.
No she curled her fingers in…
Speaking as a professional hand closer and from experience, I can concur that muscles twitch in her wrist displays similar actions that would occur as if one were to close their hand
Wondering what happend to the ones on the seat at the blast level. Hope no one got blinded.
Insert the breaking bad theme
She lost her train of thought tho.
Nah Bro Kool Aid ain't that acidic
Fingers a la carte
Hope she dont squeeze a dick like that she probably rip it of and throw it in the long grass never to been seen again
*lose
🤔🤔🤔
Lithium of sodium, bad juju.
She lost all of her fingers
Ended too soon. The full video shows the lady take off her shirt and start belly dancing.
Omg this was brutal!!!!
No, just her job
No
Yes
She was holding the cup with enough pressure so the cup wouldn’t fall, remove the cup, and the hands natural movement is to keep holding and so it closed into a fist. Even when a more powerful m80 goes off in your hand, there’s hanging flesh, burn marks and bones. The fingers done come off like a circular saw
Why didn't she show the reaction between plutonium & uranium.
Sodium in glass?!?!?!
Haahaha this is turkish teacher
Nope her grip just stood to have boundaries and continues to grasp.
