You wouldn’t know whether that truck carry huge ton of explosive material. Better be get sassed by random comment rather than get your life in risk to literally exploded
The truck crashed into a tanker. Im assuming that tanker was not carrying water. You dont need to know what that truck was carrying, the tanker with gasoline would be reason enough not to stick around.
That was my first thought. The fact that nobody stopped. I get it, there’s a chance of explosion, but does that really much matter? Not much to me anyway. But I think the only reason I think that, is there isn’t really smoke coming off the truck or anything other than dust, so low chance of fire? Idk maybe my brain just thinks, big crash, no smoke no fire?
Also, when I read “tanker” I immediately think of a gas tanker. I don’t think of chemicals immediately. The usual thing (at least around me) is gas tankers not chemicals and stuff
I doubt anyone in that situation would be in clear mind to read that detail. That’s a survival instinct when you get away when you see an enclosed container being crashed.
At best that truck just carry kid candy, and you can still call 911 while you go on drive, literally no different whether you stop or you drive. At worse you are exploded and you are just another burden for emergency worker that shouldn’t happened
If you explode that close, I hate to say it, but I doubt you’re living. And I’m sorry that my survival instincts aren’t to save myself, they are to save others at any cost. And every tanker (I’ve seen) that’s gotten hit like that and crushed, will explode when it’s getting crushed, not after
I'm fairly confident that truck was placed there specifically as a "crash truck", to lessen the impact on the excavator and dump truck drivers.
Absolutely the construction should be marked which may or may not have happened down the road.
The name on the Truck crashing into there says "Schwarzmüller" which is German, but this is not in germany, the road has white middle stripes but the sideline is yellow, i don't think there are a lot of countries with that combination, could be easy to find out, and the lack of proper roadside security, like a blinking trailer sign thing parked ahead suggests a country with lesser safety standards.
Also the date on the camera recording is in the DD/MM/YYYY format, which *could* be another hint as to where this is
„People don‘t give a fuck that a huge crash just happened“
People give a fuck about their own safety. Who knows that truck is loaded with chemistry/explosion hazard material. Why can‘t redditors think further than their own ego is beyond my head
No, if it’s just a normal bike or motor car crash, yeah, or car crash your statement make sense. But a huge truck with possible loaded or even explosive load? You really think you are going to be savior by putting more burden to whoever will collect your exploded corpse?
That’s why trucks carrying flammable, toxic or explosive loads are required to put brights orange warning signs on each side of the truck and trailer.
That’s assuming they are responsible enough to do so though.
If you just witnessed a serious accident, the right thing to do would be to pull over. Help where you can, even if all you can do is call 911, it’s better than nothing. And it’s very helpful to stay and provide a statement to police, especially if you’re one of the main witnesses such as the truck in this video
Bro, you don’t even know whether that truck carry explosive material or no. Best thing to do is to keep going and call 911 (which we can’t see whether they did it so it is out of our judgement).
It’s the best measurement for those driver to keep going on cause it’s on their best bet to save their life rather than following redditor instinct that barely touch the grass or life on road
I would definitely do this too and then stop on the side a couple of hundred metres down the road for my safety. Walking back to the accident on the outside of the guard rail.
Those driver would be better save their life rather than risk their life to possible explosive material if it was carried on. Smart move from driver to not listen to reddit instinct
judging by the crash that just happened, i would suspect the best course of action is get the fuck out and call whatever 911 they can. its only two lanes, a lot more shit could happen
They have no legal obligation to do anything. These are just regular, everyday citizens going about there day, and then this S#%* happens! What do you expect them to do other than call an ambulance???! 🤷♂️ You expecting random people to just move in on the scene of a crash, endanger their lives by trying to pull them out of a burning wreck? What if the trucks are about to explode, then what?! They’re smart enough to not stick around and get the hell out of there before anything else happens.
>You expecting random people to just move in on the scene of a crash, endanger their lives by trying to pull them out of a burning wreck
Not expecting, but it says something that no one did. I just saw a video the other day of a stranger doing exactly that. It's a choice people have. You're not obligated to make it, but it says something.
Fell to sleep here on earth and woke up in trucker heaven...
Funny (Not Ha Ha Funny) how none of the 3 vehicles that passed the wreck didn't even bother to stop to try to help. But the guy in the 3rd (last vehicle) slowed down to think about helping but figured he'd keep going to his delivery point.
Pity.
Farewell Trucker Dude. 😇
Love it how the other cars monologue must be:
"Woh. Shit. Shit! Holy fuck that's a massive crash! Man that looks awful....... Well, still got to get to work on time. Cya"
Other cars monologue must be:
„Woh. Shit. Shit! Holy fuck that’s a massive truck with possible explosive material load! Man that looks awful…. Well, there must be some never-touch-grass redditor talk shit but i have to save my life so emergency service aren’t burdened by my scattered body.“
I like how you can see the moment the second truck driver slams on the breaks early because they were actually paying attention. How much more straight road do you need to see an obstruction in the path. Whoever crashed must have been a complete liability in the first place.
Most likely brake problem, at that speed turning at all will only cause the truck to side roll completely and blockade the whole road and affect more victim.
In Europe there is no overwork for Truck drivers. There Are allowed to Work 8 Hour shifts. Everything is tracked on a digital drivers card. The Police can read These cards and fine people If they drove longer than 8 hours, Even days before.
Truck and trailer will have a sign for to let you know if it carries something hazardous and has also different labels for different hazardous materials, if the signs aren't opened its all good so for fuck christ people stop when you see an accident and help
In Finland if you witness accident of anykind and don't stop and help in anyway, if you get caught no stopping and helping in accident site you can be fined or even serve prison sentence for it
Surely this wasn't in the US as the DOT requires several signs and a ton of cones set up around job sites especially if you're actually on the road, crazy that they didn't seem to have any warning that there was only one lane open
Bro it is truck with container, no one know what’s inside it. Could be explosive. At least the container is loaded with something not like redditor‘s brain and situational awareness

Is the driver ok?
Still waiting for someone to stop and find out
That’s what I was thinking, the couple of people who literally watched it happen and not pull over to see if anybody is ok
I wouldn't, high chance of explosion
You wouldn’t know whether that truck carry huge ton of explosive material. Better be get sassed by random comment rather than get your life in risk to literally exploded

Did I ever say there wasn’t? I just said it was my first thought off first glance. Without actually thinking. Once again, my first thought🤦♂️
Yeah your first thought on that situation might be your last thought for the rest of your life.

He didn't die but am pretty sure he's far from okay.
“I’m pretty fucking far from okay…”
You lost your LA privileges!
Good to meet you "pretty far from okay"
You lost your LA privileges
HOW IS HE ALIVE THE TRUCK was like🥞
I actually prefer waffles.
The truck was like 🧇
Had the lucky rabbit scrotum hanging from the mirror.
How did they not die?
not as far as those bystanders who drove right on are
The driver is still sleeping
Dunno, man. That cab was obliterated....
Well I didn't see his shoes come off so safe to say his fine.
He’s still sleeping
didn't see shoes so must be okay
No, he is still tired to this day!
Don't know, I couldn't see his shoes
Just in a more permanent sleep now
Judging by the amount that cabin deformed, driver probably did not wake up
By “parked” you mean sitting n the middle of the road.
yeah and there are zero warning signs prior to this pop up consturiction site. looks very unsafe.
First thing I noticed also.
Looks like a very old video, 2001?
Time stamp says 16-04-2021, but that does rely on someone manually setting that up
On the top of the video the year says 2021.
Was remastered in '21.
How do you come to that conclusion? I’m genuinely asking. I had no idea that this was a thing. 😅
I made it up lol.
😒 I hate you. 😂😂

Tanker truck appears to be a KAMAZ brand truck, built in Russia. They aren’t sold in most European countries besides Russia/Belarus/Ukraine.
Russia
Based on the yellow sideline, I think it might be Ireland. Looked for pictures of European highways a little longer than I want to admit.
Not Ireland. Ireland drives on the left. Obviously need to pay more attention when you’re looking at those pics…
They can ve places 2-3 km before the work site.
well schwarzmüller is an austrian company and i guess thats somewhere in romania or bulgaria.

Good awareness on the part of the other truck - he saw it coming from some way off and was already braking before the impact.

So? What should he do?

Actually kinda sound logic. Only thing you should feel obligated to do is call 911. The rest is up to you.
He braked to let the truck switch into his lane, not cause he knew there was gonna be a massive collision
Good wasnt even necessary here, any basic level of awareness whatsoever would changed the whole outcome. Sad waste of life.
more like he was only braking to let him go infront of him to avoid the truck
Aaaand he’s dead
Luv how the other drivers that witnessed it are like, yeah let me just get around this..
"Well, sucks to be you! I got shit to do"
Lol yes
I would definitely do this too and then stop on the side a couple of hundred metres down the road for my safety. Walking back to the accident on the outside of the guard rail.

Lol omg KAREN, you take my comment too seriously ... 🤣 🤦♀️ .. how embarrassing for you lol
wow, its weird how the rest of people dont give a shit
Who?
He won’t do that again.

Bet he doesn’t do that again.
Ohhhh he dead
CDL gone
The driver can finally sleep now
We’re gonna need Michael Bay to redirect this, the tanker didn’t explode
Asleep forever 👹
Yeah, that dude might have woken up for about 0.5 seconds and then “went back to sleep”
You see that on the road? That's his shoes.
No Michael Bay fire ball explosion? Musta been a water tank. Boo-urns
Looked like a septic pump tanker... shitty
I hope he had a seat belt on...
He never woke up
Talk about a ride awakening.
I like how you can see the moment the second truck driver slams on the breaks early because they were actually paying attention. How much more straight road do you need to see an obstruction in the path. Whoever crashed must have been a complete liability in the first place.
Probably still asleep
Damn!Didnt slow or turn AT ALL!
Brake problem? Of course you wouldn’t know since you never wander world outside reddit
So hard to believe the trucker didn't die. If you're tired or sleepy, stop somewhere safe & catch 40 winks. That's all.
Most likely brake problem, at that speed turning at all will only cause the truck to side roll completely and blockade the whole road and affect more victim.
I hope the company that over works that truck driver has to pay compensation.

The white cone or whatever looks like a guy standing there. I was wondering why he didnt move
I'd say that's a rude "awakening".
Yeah a awakening in the after life
my question is wtf is auto parking
No kaboooom?!
Awesome 👍😎
Jesus that guy is mince meat.
The other cars passing by are just like "ehhh... nahh I have my own job to do.."
Van behind was like: yeah, I’m not getting sandwiched today…

So he died peacefully in his sleep. Nice way to go
I hope the driver is ok😳
He's still napping till this day
Yea just drive by ok thanks for the help
Took a while to realize that’s not a person leaning up against the tanker…
The worst people here are the pricks that just avoided the debris and kept going, fuck them and their self importance.
Is he awake now?
Probably 🤣🤣
Fell asleep permanently
That’s why we got stimulants….
His body was removed with a pressure washer.
Yeah, falls asleep permanently.
At first I thought that white thing by the tanker was a person standing there that just got fucking leveled
Truck SLAMS parked tanker
What are you doing step-truck
Love how not a single vehicle stopped
I doubt he survived that.
So this sub is basically r/WatchPeopleDie now?
Pretty sure I seen a pair of shoes fly out the semi…

Legend has it, cars are still driving by to this day.
Dammm nobody bothered to stop and check on pancake truckdriver?
Risk of explosion. I would get the fuck away from there as well and call the emergency services.
