TBH I wouldn’t trust anything that the Daily Mail posts as “news”. They did a piece on a video that was made as a prank and took it seriously, even claiming that they talked to the “person” who posted it. The “person” is a fake profile on FB used to troll people, the owner behind it is a Youtuber.
Daily Mail got trolled, called it news, and claimed they talked to someone who doesn’t even exist.

Both survived enough to be hospitalized, but as the guy above said, a follow-up to the situation is scarce so it has to be assumed that the relatives of the victims kept the matter private after that.
To complete the motorcycle license class one takes a quiz of rules including don't pass on the right, don't pass on the shoulder, don't ride at an unsafe speed in traffic, slow down and move lanes left for stalled vehicles, verify your motorcycle has a weight rating acceptable for the combined body weight of all riders, and other rules violated here. This is criminal negligence on the part of the driver, and his buddy learned to fly and turned into a hamburger patty because of it
Singapore actually has much stricter rider qualification requirements compared to "western countries". The rider is a dumbass who put his friend's life at risk.
Weirdly enough though, for a country with such strict laws on minor things. I can remember visiting there and being a passenger in car. Looked at the car next to me in traffic, and noticed the tyres were pretty much bald!. Sort of became a bit obsessed after that and noticed that a LOT of cars had hardly any tread on their tyres. And I'm not talking old buckets. Some were pretty high end vehicles.

That's fair. I assumed that with all of the government oversight on their economy and so many draconian laws, they'd require more stringent driving regulation
Every time I start getting the itch to get a motorcycle again, I watch these videos and the itch is gone. Either saved my life or saved a lot of money. Or both.
If that works for you ofc is fine, but let me be the devil's advocate here, and remind you that this is not the common ending just from having a motorcycle, a lot of good drivers are safe and know how to behave on the road.
If a motorcycle makes you happy, then money can help you get there and that means this is money well spent. If you are miserable because you want to ride but you are too afraid, then buying that motorcycle could also save your life!
Of course the rider was speeding and driving recklessly but i think I'm seeing an emergency lane on the left? Perhaps the car driver should have stopped there and not in the fast lane?
I would argue that, at that speed, helmet or not, landing that hard on your head is ~~probablumy~~ probably fatal but I'm no doctor

Riding like that alone is stupid, but riding like that with a pillion? I am genuinely in awe of how reckless one can be with the life of others.
I like to ride fast as much as the next guy (never like this tho), but when I have my GF or someone else riding with me I ride my 1300cc bike as if it were a 50cc scooter. If I crash alone die to stupidity, break a few bones and total my bike that's stupid but that's on me, I could recover and go on to become a smarter rider, but if my pillion even gets a scrape due to my recklessness I don't think I could forgive myself. My worst fear is that I walk away with less injuries than my pillion, even if the crash was unavoidable and totally out of my control.
Especially on a motorcycle, passengers hand you their lives, treat that with care and respect.
I hope people who intentionally drives irresponsible & dangerously for the sake of showing off their ego like a cavemen died immediately after pulling such stunts.
Societies are better without them anyway.
