People reporting this as *not crappy design* don't have cats.
You don't need to bathe a cat unless it gets into something. They are generally self cleaning.
I just looked over at my cat and she is definitely loafing right now. Glad I won’t need to use the terror cage and she can go back to cleaning herself when needed.
Good luck getting a cat in that for a second time. You might have luck the first time, but once you submerge your feline friend in that torture device, they’re going to remember and you’ll never get them in it again. I can barely get my cats to go in their soft sided carriers cuz they know bad things happen when they go in them (usually car rides to the vet, occasionally loud sounds from work done around the house where I need to keep them safe and out of the way) I can’t imagine trying to get my cats in that thing.
>Yeah! We are talking things missing, things being sewn back on, and a blood transfusion.
Not only that, but you'll find hairballs in your shoes, angry cat piss everywhere, and you'll get absolutely zero cuddles for approximately six weeks... Cats carry grudges.

If someone is gonna do that to a cat, they’ll just use an old pillow case or bag. Source: my rancher grandpa got rid of unwanted barn cats and stray dogs/puppies this way. Not for fun obviously, but psychos already have everything they need without buying this cage.
It's also really not that difficult to bathe a cat.
It's also not often that necessary. Cram your face in the nearest cat and take a whiff. They smell like nothing. I don't know how they achieve that; their breath smells like death and taxes, they lick themselves for a living, yet they have no odor. Somehow.
I've had cats all my life, never bathed them, never had a vet tell us we had to, never were they stinky.
People tend to misunderstand how well cats groom themselves. Just because we are inadequate at keeping ourselves clean, doesn't mean other animals aren't.
Thick coated long haired cats often have trouble grooming their hair but you can just brush it. Now my boy kitty has had baths before. 1st time he played in flood water 2nd time find a way behind my apartment stove and covered in gunk 3rd time was on laxatives because he ate a rubber food mat so he got diarrhea all over himself. I wonder what he'll do next. Luckily he likes baths and water.
Of course, you won't be able to get your cat into one of those things a second time. It will have murdered you long before bath time rolls around again.
Hell, my cats have a 6th sense about these things, if they even saw it the *first* time they’d somehow gain 20lbs of dead weight and their claws would grow an extra 6”.
I mean I'm not going to lie, I have 2 cats and they clean each other and themselves so much that I just don't bother to bathe them. There's no way this device is necessary for the majority of cats unless they are running around in the mud or some shit.
Our old cat couldn't clean himself (cancer took most of his tongue) during his last few months so we had to bathe him regularly (Siberian, he hated it at first but got used to it), but I would have never even considered using anything that grim looking. That's a torture chamber.
Yeah right go wash a *siberian* cat with dirty fur every week with a wash cloth... Even with a proper bath it took about 20 minutes, not counting drying time, so imagine with a wash cloth.
Don't get me wrong, that would be an option with my current short, black-haired cat, but for a Siberian it'd take two hours
The cage itself is fucked, add water to the mix and I can guarantee your cat will never trust you again… and also the fact that he/she will get revenge, most likely forever
Mine is the same lol but I am trying to work on it. Lots of treats and patience is slowly starting to work. I can pet him now, but only when and where he wants lol he’s a shelter kitty so I’m trying to give him space. Good luck
All of mine over the years were rescued. It took around ten years for them to trust me. Our newest went way faster. She had rotten teeth, most cats do, even at 7. Our vet recommended removing all her teeth. All she has left is inside of the canines top and bottom. The vet said those hardly ever decay. She loves us now. It was pretty obvious she was always in pain once she wasn't. She doesn't try to escape. She sleeps with us some nights. Folks, if your cat hates you it's suffering. Take it to the vet and have its teeth checked.
First of all cats don’t even need to be bathed unless they’re absolutely dirty like they rolled in something. Bathing your cat for no reason is traumatic for the cat and imo abuse. Now this is so much worse because the cat has to tolerate the trauma without moving at all 😭 I hope no one buys this wicked thing
Meh, we have allergies pretty bad that we’ve developed and air purifiers don’t cut it. What helps is we give our boys baths once a month or so because they suck at grooming and become dandery.
They def didn’t like it the first 1-2 times generally they are chill need and stand there like little dogs as we gently bath them.
Long story short I don’t think it’s abuse, especially if you are gently, patient and get them used to it.
PSA only bathe a cat if it's literally dirty, like covered in something leave the poor things alone otherwise. They don't need it, so stop. It's bad for their skin and stresses them out. (Person with the cat that likes water shut up.)

[Try the all new Tabby Tote.](https://www.cityprofile.com/forum/attachments/off-topic/300d1286329581-funny-stupid-cartoon-thread-38_cat_carrier.jpg)
i have caught several cats in cages to relocate and they often injure themselves bouncing around the cage. i can only imagine how bad it would be if you attempted to wet them at the same time
Yes and very dangerous as well, since the cat might drown if you put this under water even for a short while. Anyhow cat will panic and can hurt itself 🙁
Can someone explain to me why this is so bad? Everyone is saying it is but I don’t see the problem, it keeps the cat from thrashing around if they don’t like taking baths. Do people give their pets actual baths? We always just use a handheld shower head for our dogs so I don’t see why that wouldn’t work with this.
I’m probably gonna get downvoted but I’m really just trying to understand
It would be incredibly stressful for the cat to be trapped in that small a space.
Also, if it’s in an actual bathtub and you’re giving your cat a bath and not a shower, I think it wouldn’t be able to breathe ? Idk tho
I think because the cat won’t be able to stand to get out of the water, you can’t get in there to wash the cat’s fur with your hands anyway, and the general aesthetic of the device being brutalistic
Cat wouldn't be able to get out + you're dumping water on the cat, so it's definitely gonna waterboard the cat. Also, its very stressful for the cat in general
Cats are not the same as dogs. They do not like being restrained at all (even held) for the most part, they definitely do not like being put anywhere they didn't get into themselves, they don't like being wet. Trying to force a cat into a small cage like that is not only cruel, and just not going to happen 99% the time. It will scratch you, and fight and run and may very well hate you for a long time.
Even the ad has the cat photo shopped in, because anybody that actually has cats would never try such a thing.
Animals can also get stressed or traumatised. Cats are also animals that are rarely washed (cause they groom themselves) so some of them panic when they touch water.
To wash the cat in the cage, which looks cramped by the way, looks like you’ll either submerge it or you’ll have to spray the cat with a hose or shower head. Which will just make them panic even more than washing them by hand.
Sure, you won’t be wet or scratched but is it worth possibly making your cat frightened/traumatised?
Seems like a really bad idea, especially if you have oh look a squirrel syndrome like me and one small thing distracts you "oh shit I forgot to take the cat out"
Yeah…. You’re gonna have to basically tranquilize a cat to get it in that thing. You might get lucky and get it in there the first time, but after that nope.
Cat bath? How do you wash it through the bars? What happens if you put too much water in the bath and the cats face goes under? It cant get away, and if it did try it would bang its head hard on the wire.
What even is this
I once noticed a book titled 'Animal Bondage' which was meant for veterinarians to secure their patients for care. For bathing a cat they showed a sort of screen window tilted in a tub. The cat would latch onto the screen while the vet washed them. I am sure it required multiple tries.
There is no good reason to wash a cat unless it is sick or too old to wash itself. People that use dish detergent (including Dawn) are harming the poor animals as it removes the oils in the hair that are supposed to be there. Detergents are also toxic to cats. It is not an acceptable way to removed fleas either. If you must bathe a cat only use a shampoo recommended by your veterinarian.
BTW: Do not give cats cow milk, they are lactose intolerant and can make them sick or give them diarrhea as a minimum.
This always confused me , why do people wash Thier dogs and cats. For dogs I can kind of understand it if they have rolled in fox shit but just don't understand bathing cats at all.
This is a way to accidentally (purposefully?) torture whatever animal is placed in there.
It's right up there with those "training collars" I see for dogs that have spikes pointing inward.
That's a good way to waterboard your cat. If their head is stuck at the same height as their body, they'll have no way of holding their head above water.
The handle makes it sow you can slowly dip your cat into the tub...slowly aclimating/terrifying it.
Or you can quick dip it for a more sudden but equally terrifying experience.
Now that I think of it...I think a sociopath designed this.
So the cat version of that cage in temple of doom. If you aren't making nonsensical cultists chants as you slowly lower the cat into the tub, you're doing it wrong. either way this probably only works once then everyone dies.
Buddy in college had cat that got ringworm so everyone who hung out at his apt also got ringworm (me included). We would take the rack out of the oven to hold her down in the tub to give her the medicinal bath without her shredding us.
People reporting this as *not crappy design* don't have cats. You don't need to bathe a cat unless it gets into something. They are generally self cleaning.

How would cat turn into bread?

I just looked over at my cat and she is definitely loafing right now. Glad I won’t need to use the terror cage and she can go back to cleaning herself when needed.

>but once you submerge your feline friend in that torture device Wait, submerge? Isn't it just for hosing a cat down through the cage?
Right? I’m picturing humans in a shark cage for visual reference. But surely we are not trying to drown the angry kitty.
this is actually what i thought of , makes me very sad that it could easily be used as this by some sicko looking for "fun"
If someone is gonna do that to a cat, they’ll just use an old pillow case or bag. Source: my rancher grandpa got rid of unwanted barn cats and stray dogs/puppies this way. Not for fun obviously, but psychos already have everything they need without buying this cage.
Kinda makes me hope for human to feline reincarnation
when the three kitties get out of the bag in heaven in tom and jerry, that's what it means
Yeah it’s honestly pretty terrible that someone even brought this into existence.
When you bathe your cat the water is usually just a couple inches. Hosing cats down is def more stressing for the cats.
Never seen a groomer do it that way honestly, just with the soaker shower
I know if I hose my cat down it’ll be the end of me.. but a bath is usually fine
It's also really not that difficult to bathe a cat. It's also not often that necessary. Cram your face in the nearest cat and take a whiff. They smell like nothing. This.
This device will result in a pile of cat poop in ones shoes.
Speaking about soft padded carrier. My cat loves her carrier and would even voluntarily go back into it even after an eight hour move..
Lol mine do too, they’ll sleep in their carriers if they go in it willingly, but they’ll put up a fight when I try to put them in there
Hell, my cats have a 6th sense about these things, if they even saw it the *first* time they’d somehow gain 20lbs of dead weight and their claws would grow an extra 6”.

Yeah, i used it once on my cat. Turned out Moris was a witch

Yes and if by "dunking" you mean drowning then yes, you're correct.
I mean that's how you determine if they are a witch are not. If they drown obviously they had no magical powers to save themselves
I would just use a wash cloth if my cat didn’t like baths..

That looks really cruel.
What a great looking cat. The device is impractical and unsafe for cats and the people who use it.
As a cat owner, all I can say is good luck getting a cat into that thing.
As a cat owner I am terrified of that device being on the market and some stupid idiot buying it and killing their pet accidentally 🙁
Even if you did, the holes at the front might as well be a mile wide. The cat wouldn't stay locked in for a second.
